Had a feeling the new footage so far is the beginning explaining how the Finals Duel pairs were determined. Mind you I'm on Bakura Vs Yugi right now, so I don't know if there's nothing else new.
If I had a nickel for every duel Bakura could have won during the Battle City Finals by committing to his win condition immediately, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it's happened twice. The lessons we learn from these duels: Play to your win condition. Don't be afraid of your opponent's back row. Do not try to flex. If you have game and you see it, just take it.
Imagine being hired by the Yu-Gi-Oh anime writers as the card playing game expert to help write these duels, but every time when a much smarter and faster strategy is thought of, it has to be ignored or revised due to the plot.
The main thing with battle city is Joey should have beaten Marik. That would’ve been a ridiculous plot twist. I know you’d have the issue of Ra in his deck
@@sun332s7 I was kinda referring in general how when there are better and faster plays to win a duel, that has to be abandoned for the plot, in order to have suspenseful and exciting scenes. What Battle city has shown are the following: 1: Marik and Bakura (particulary Bakura) are not very good duelist due to them wanting to torture their opponents too much, rather than quickly winning. 2: Kaiba, Mai, Ishizu wanted a perfect victory and humiliate their opponents with God cards. (Ok Ishizu not that much, because she was following a prediction, but sorta counts) that would've cost them the duel. In this case Mai. 3: Rules are not always consistent. Like the example with XYZ dragon cannon being able to attack the turn it is summoned. Whereas Thousand dragon is not allowed due to them being fusion monsters that don't require polymerization. 4: Plot and exciting action scenes dictates all. But going back to your comment about Joey winning against Marik. We all as viewers wanted that and were gutted when he passed out. But also if Joey did managed to land the attack and got Ra. Can you imagine how funny that would've been. I mean Joey attempting to recite the ancient text, but he can't remember it and is constantly thinking and pondering during a duel or scenario 2: he does recite it and we seen that glowing gold aura around him with closed serious eyes, but Ra doesn't show up, because he pronounced 1 word wrong and good Marik (if he is saved) facepalming himself in the face.
@@Animating_Andy I thought up a scenario that fixes that: Joey wins, but still passes out. Yami Marik goes crazy and disappears until after Yugi and Kaiba finish their duel, with Ra still in his possession. Things go normally until just before the final, when Yami Marik reappears and challenges Yugi. Kaiba allows the duel and, after being coaxed by Ishizu and Mokuba, gives Yugi Fiend's Sanctuary. After the duel, Marik gives the Millenium Rod to Yugi and Ra to Joey as his rightful prize. Joey, knowing he can't use Ra, offers it to Yugi, who counters by giving back Red Eyes in exchange, saying that Joey has more than proven himself. The finals take place, and the arc ends as close to the original as possible from that point.
@@petersimpson4648 I like this but I'd merge it with another fan idea that was posited on another of TGS's videos: Joey puts Ra in his deck for the final duel and, having survived Ra's wrath TWICE (once in the duel with Odion and once against Marik), has earned Ra's respect and is able to summon it by tributing his other three prize cards (Legendary Fisherman, Insect Queen, Jinzo) and win. When Yugi offers up his god cards as per the rules of Battle City, Joey says he wants his Red-Eyes back, as it's the best card for *him*.
Now I am hoping that we get all the Virtual World arc duels and end up with one of these compilations as well. Though I would also enjoy the Joey duels against Espa Roba, Weevil, and Mako. And Yugi vs Arcana. And Yugi & Kaiba vs Lumis and Umbra. And Kaiba vs. Alistair (both duels). And that's just the main Yugioh series duels I want to see. GX I want - Jaden vs Aster rematch - Jaden vs Sartorius - All the Jaden vs Chazz duels - Pegasus vs Crowler & Bonabarte - Jaden vs Bastion - EDITING TO ADD: the various duels against the Shadow Riders 5Ds I want all the duels vs the Dark Signers and the duels vs Team Unicorn, Team Catastrophe, Team Ragnarok, team Yliaster (or whatever they were called). Yes. There is a lot that I want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
got to say thanks a lot for these types of videos,i just live how u overanalyze the duels and give us all sorts of alternative ways they could have gone down.keep up the good work!
Actually, he's 33% of the way done with Dawn of the Duel. There's the duel with Bakura vs Kaiba at the start of the arc which Bakura stopped after he'd powered up Diabound enough.
I admit to being curious to see what an 'analysis' of the Duelist Kingdom duels would be like, when either player can just pull out an "attack the moon" move whenever it suits them
Might be interesting to see a slightly different format for Duelist Kingdom, maybe trying to come up with similar sorts of plays that the characters maybe could have done had they thought of it?
@@johnnymarenco what version of youtube doesnt let you see descriptions but can see comments? Mobile allows for description, the only thing I can think of that doesnt show descriptions are videos embedded into websites, but you cant see comments on those either
Super stoked on this! This is going in my work playlist *and* my sleep playlist! Your duel breakdowns (especially of the DM era) are some of my favorite videos on RUclips.
I didn't realize this until later but there might've been a real reason why Yugi didn't attack Bakura's monsters if he had them set faced down. In the past he remembered Bakura had flip effect monsters like Man-Eater Bug, I think he might be the only character who's likely going to have flip effect monsters aside from Weevil that might have long term consequences later in the duel.
With the Yugi Bakura duel, I think Kaiba’s reasoning for why Yugi wouldn’t attack face down monsters is accurate. Last time Yugi faced Bakura in duelist kingdom,Bakura’s deck was loaded with Flip effect monsters like Man-eater bug and Morphing Jar.
Something I just thought of: Yugi, well Yami, dueled Bakura before. And in that duel, he played a lot of face down and flip monsters. So I wonder if that's what Yami Bakura was thinking
@@chronowolf4734 That and it likely followed the manga in which Bakura needed 3 zombie/fiend attack mode monsters destroyed within the first 5 turns to summon Necrofear then trigger Dark Sanctuary to also play Destiny Board. Supposedly, you can't play your letters if Necrofear isn't in your GY.
Mmm... I should go to sleep since I have to wake up early for work **TGS anime drop a 3 hour video of battle city duels analize** ... Nevermind, let's enjoy this
For the Millennium Necklace (sorry for the length) It probably shows a predestined series of events that should not be changed without serious consequences she not only knows what moves to take but all of her opponents actions as well. For Example: If she did try to summon his blue eyes the cards he drew would be different and the actions he did would change. Maybe he would have started focusing on his Blue-Eyes cards more and less on Obelisk getting angry she took it from him, or played completely different card costing her the duel she saw that she was destined to win. I don't know why she cant couldn't change the future she has a millennium item and the item shows her the future. I just think it has consequences and leads to the unknown, and that other items can influence those outcomes even if she herself doesn't stray from the shown path.
in defense of Kaiba saying Yugi didn't want to attack into Bakura's cards for fear of flip effects, don't forget last time Yugi and Bakura dueled, Bakura used several flip effect monsters (man-eater bug, morphing jar, and so on) So its' not entirely out of the question that Yugi would take this into account
Quarter Finals 0:44 Yugi VS Bakura 17:46 Joey VS Odion 39:46 Mai VS Marik 1:01:53 Kaiba VS Ishizu Unofficial Villain Duel 1:19:57 Bakura VS Marik Semi-Final Selection, Battle Royale 1:38:12 Yugi VS Joey VS Marik VS Kaiba Semi-Finals 1:54:04 Joey VS Marik 2:10:06 Yugi VS Kaiba Battle for the Bronze 2:32:51 Joey VS Kaiba Final Round 2:47:15 Yugi VS Marik
I'm not actually sure that Kaiba not setting Life Shaver face down is a misplay. By not putting it down, he's able to spend a couple of turns screwing with Yugi who keeps playing around Life Shaver and Kaiba keeps doing something else instead.
In recommending this analysis Rex vs Joey BOTH duels-Duelist Kingdom and Waking the Dragon -it will be your first Duelist Kingom analysis and two…more wakingthe dragons is appreciated
I've just got in to a VERY grind based game, I don't think you can appreciate how much having a detailed analysis on an anime I watched as a kid adds to that ❤
You're 2 versions of how the millennium necklace works don't have to be mutually exclusive. If the future she sees it set, predetermined, unless a millennium item intercedes, her own necklace is a millennium item and could still allow her to choose an outcome on certain events. Still, once she found a path that led to the outcome she desired I think she would stick to that unwaveringly, to the exclusion of other paths that could also lead her to victory (like the alternative play you went through that would have won her the duel early on)
This makes binging battle city so much easier, No Filler! I put these Analysis videos on in the background while I'm working, I hope you make more of these compilations as you complete more sets in the future. Keep winning TGS, may the Misplays ever be in your favor.
Looking forward to the Battle City death matches, I'm partial to Yugi v. Joey. And, I'd love a version of this for The seals of Oricalcos, you can't have many more of those to make, right?
I love this, the only one I hadn’t watched yet was Bakura v. Marik, and now you got my head spinning like if you analyzed enough of other arcs in the franchise, more marathon length analysis videos could pop up which always feels like a fun addition to me.
It's cool how, you actually analized all those duels, and can now condense them into single videos. Hope you're gonna make other "collection" like this video
Had to look at how long the video was, took me a little bit to realize it’s a comp of all Battle City Finals duels. First comp video I’ve seen from TGS; this is gonna be fun😁
now that u reuploaded the video i can make my point about bakuras missplay u see in the manga the condition for summoning dark necro fear is removing 3 fiend type monster from the grave THAT WERE DESTROYED WHILE IN ATTACK MODE so yeah there u go thats why he summoned them in attack mode
Hearing the Smash Bros music between matches is a really nice touch. This is a great video to listen to while fall asleep. Thank you for your hard work on these videos!
Hi I just wanted to thank you for bringing me back to Yugioh. Your videos has motivated me to play the game and thanks to your enjoyment explaining the lores I went for my first ever deck in the locals after a long time. I got second and I feel like I owe it as much as to you to I owe it to the anime. Love the videos. Can’t saint for the next vid
Ya know, I had forgotten about that Bingo machine when i was making my Blue Eyes deck, so that's why Bingo Machine Go is a card that exists, it's just a reference 😂😂😂
Now, personally, I think that Ishizu should have defeated Seto Kaiba. Doing everything listed to win the duel and handing Kaiba a massive defeat by the hand of his own blue eyes white dragon would be absolutely devastating for him but then we could have had the Millennium Eye vs the Millennium Puzzle and Ishizu vs Atem a gravekeeper of the Pharaoh having to defeat the Pharaoh to save her own brother sounds way more interesting than Kaiba and Yugi's ego measuring contest.
You know what, I had never thought of the implications tou are mentioning. I wholeheartedly agree. Plus, her millenium eye not being able to see thw future since she would be battling a "ghost of the past" that had no place in the present/future would make way much more sense than Kaiba "changing the future" due to plot armor.
Honestly, the fact that (beside the duel with Bakura) Yugi and Kaiba close their duels using not the powerful God cards but by the power of their ace monsters was great.
Additionally, while I understand the point, it's a bit of a pity that no God cards was summoned in the four-way duel. Seeing everyone but Joey summon a God card would have been hylarious.
In the Yugi vs Kaiba Duel, Yes Kaiba could have won if he brought back obelisk. However Kaiba often goes for his "perfect victory". After his duel with Ishizu, it seemed like he had regained his love for the Blue-eyes White dragon. Was it a misplay, yes, but all things considered it makes sense he would make that play.
I honestly think it is brilliant how you were able to compile all of your separate videos together to create a nice placed compilation of the battle city tournament. Its a good thing you didn't add the Virtual World arc duels too otherwise it would be about 15 to 20 hours in length 😂. Hopefully those duels would also be given a separate duel analysis too, especially the "Big Five vs Yugi and Joey" duel because there are some crazy amounts of shenanigans in that one 🤣
I made this as a Playlist on my channel as soon as he covered all of the duels. The fact he made it all on one video makes it even 3x better! I made the Playlist public if you wanna watch it, but he basically covered it all. 😁
2:45:52 I feel like Joey could’ve attacked with Thousand Dragon the way Kiba used XYZ Dragon against Yugi. Since he contact fused without using polymerization, and Time Wizard special summons Thousand Dragon from Baby Dragon it should’ve been an okay play, but plot contrivances says other wise. Oh well
Also, silly question for the others here in the comments section: Isn't Gazelle a Fiend-type monster? If so, Exile of the Wicked would have actually hindered Yami Yugi to play it when Sam's suggesting. Otherwise, totally agree with that part of the analysis. Keep up the great work, @TGSAnime, and can't wait to see the next project come to life!
8:53 right here Yugi could have also use monster reborn to take Dark Necrefear from the graveyard. This disables dark sanctuary and ruins Bakura’s day.
2:05:18 - It can be used for Zombie deck combos. Lots of oppertunities to special summon it despite being in the opponent a grave. You also can be sure there is something to banish in your opponents GY for book of life. This also can be comoed with zombies that want to be banished. Send it to your opponent's GY, banish it to get another Zombie back, then get its effect for yourself. It is more situational but it can also kill strategies. Send a monster to you opponents graveyard to stop decks or card effects that require you to have no monsters in grave or only mobsters of a specific type. Its like a reverse of DD crow in every way. Instead of quickplay activating to remove a target it sends in a slower fashion but prevents your opponent from activating their best effects or stops them currently being active. It could ahve been used to hurt Rafeal in the waking the dragons hard. Some oldschool DD decks would be disrupted. Send something other than a warrior to kill the effect of The Immortal Bushi. I feel there are probably a bunch of other cards/f3cks with simialr effects but again, situational. I also am pretty sure there are cards that benefit when your opponent ahs specific attributes or types in their graveyard but I can't think of them off the bat..
In forbidden memories (ps1) you could only summon something in attack mode, then you moved it to defence after you had played it. So it's one of the only official yugioh situations where you can put a monster into defence the turn you played it, it's also one of the the only times you can have facedown attack cards.
Joey could have beaten Kaiba in the bronze medal duel. If he emptied his hand first, then activated Graverobber to steal Kaiba's card of demise, Joey would have drawn 5 cards (but must discard in 5 turns), then Joey activates his set pot of greed whch lets him draw 2 cards. Of these 7 cards Joey has are: Monster Reborn, Time Wizard and Baby Dragon. Joey then summons Baby Dragon, and plays Time Wizard, gets thousand dragon out, and all of Kaiba's monsters are destroyed due to Time Wizard's anime effect. Due to Battle City Rules, Thousand Dragon cannot attack, but that's okay, Joey has Monster Reborn to revive Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and attack Kaiba for game.
halfway through the vid, really enjoying this compilation, but kinda wish that the analysis at the end of each duel was included too (tho i can imagine it would be annoying to re-record them if you included the video wrap-up in it). in any case, good stuff!
The Necklace does not grant one the power to change the future, the power they have over the future is the same that any other mortal possesses. Foresight is ONLY Foreknowledge.
It’s about time I leave a comment because I have a bone to pick with you! How dare you get me back into YuGiOh? It’s very inconsiderate of you to bring so much joy to my life! Lol thanks for all your hard work and keep up the amazing content!
I know this was already addressed in the video just for Bakura v. Yami Yugi, and it may also already be said here, but here goes: Apparently in the original manga/anime, Dark Necrofear has some real weird requirements. You have to have had 3 fiend monsters in **ATTACK*** mode go to the graveyard within the last five turns or you can't summon it. I kinda have wondered ever since this was brought up on that video why Konami/4 Kids didn't just make that part of the actual sub/dub, as it would have answered SOOOO many of the problems inherent with the Bakura duel. That being said, the big misplay Bakura did was not to either set Dark Spirit of the Silent or The Dark Door as soon as turn 2. You can tank one attack from a high level monster on the first attack outside of a god card, but two plus turns in a row? That was kinda dumb of Bakura to do so; Dark Door would have limited the LP loss, and he still would have been able to meet the summon requirements for Necrofear no prob.
All throughout this video, I got mad urges to stop watching and hop into duel links or master duel. But I just didn’t. Then during the Marik vs Mai duel analysis- I realized I could have binged like 5 episodes of the battle city quarter finals. And then during the Kaiba vs Ishizu duel - I realized he was wearing a NYPD cadet shirt, and I just pictured him like officer Trudge . . . In some high speed chase yelling over the speakers “Pull over Satellite! Or I’ll have to duel you into submission!” Hahahaha 😂 I love this channel.
Please do these duels Yugi vs. Bakura (DM Season 5) Jaden vs. Jesse vs. Fujiwara (GX Season 4) Jaden vs. Darkness (GX Season 4,) Yusei, Jack, and Crow vs Goodwin (5D's Season 1) Yuma and Nash vs. Don Thousand (Zexal Season 2) (Might as well do the Mizar vs. Don Thousand duel as well) Zarc vs. Aster, Sora, Shay, Kite, Gong, Jack, Crow, Silvio, Leo, Declan, and Riley/Ray. (Arc-V Season 3)
I love these duel analysis videos, so a super long one is perfect! Though i noticed something in the Kaiba vs Ishizu fight. In Yugi vs Yami Bakura, its stated that you cant tribute, target, or equip a god card. So technically, Kaiba shouldn't have been able to tribute Obelisk for Blue Eyes. Its probably just for plot but still.
This is a bit late but something that Kaiba also missed in his duel against Yugi was not setting Power Balance on his 1st turn. If he had done that, that potentially could have lead Kaiba going for game on turn 4 or his second turn. The only thing that could have changed this is if Yugi activated exchange on turn his first turn, but that changes everything and would lead to game states that would be entirely unable to be determined. Turn 1: Yami Yugi Yami Yugi draws "Big Shield Gardna". Yugi's hand contains "Lightforce Sword", "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight" and "Big Shield Gardna". He then sets "Big Shield Gardna" (100/2600) in Defense Position. He then Sets a card ("Lightforce Sword"). Turn 2: Kaiba Kaiba draws "Obelisk the Tormentor". Kaiba's hand contains "Enemy Controller", "Spell Sanctuary", "X-Head Cannon", "Lullaby of Obedience", "Power Balance" and "Obelisk the Tormentor". He then Normal Summons "X-Head Cannon" (1800/1500) in Attack Position. Kaiba then activates "Spell Sanctuary" to allow both players to add a Spell Card from their Deck to their hands: Yugi selects "Change of Heart" while Seto selects "Soul Exchange". As long as "Spell Sanctuary" remains in play, both players can activate any kind of Spell Card during their opponent's turn, as long as it is face down. Kaiba then Sets 2 cards ("Enemy Controller" and "Power Balance"). Turn 3: Yami Yugi Yami Yugi draws "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". Yugi's hand contains "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight", "Change of Heart", and "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". Seto activates his face-down "Power Balance" to force Yugi to discard half the cards in his hand and allow Seto to draw the same number of cards Yugi discarded. Yugi is currently holding six, so he discards "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", and "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". Yugi's hand now contains "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight", and "Change of Heart". Kaiba draws "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", "Y-Dragon Head" and "Z-Metal Tank". Kaiba’s hand contains "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", "Y-Dragon Head" and "Z-Metal Tank". Yami Yugi then sets "Queen’s Knight" (1500/1600) in Defense Position. He then Sets a card ("Change of Heart"). Turn 4: Kaiba Kaiba draws "Command Silencer". Kaiba's hand contains "Lullaby of Obedience", "Obelisk the Tormentor", "Soul Exchange", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", "Y-Dragon Head", "Z-Metal Tank" and "Command Silencer". Kaiba activates "Soul Exchange" in order to allow himself to Tribute Yugi's monsters as if they were his monsters. Yugi activates his face-down "Change of Heart" to take control of Seto's "X-Head Cannon" until the end of the turn. Unclear if Yugi should have or even could have activated "Lightforce Sword first". Seto then activates his face-down "Enemy Controller" to pay 1000 Life Points (Seto 4000 → 3000) and take control of "X-Head Cannon". Yugi then activates his face-down "Lightforce Sword" to remove from play "Obelisk the Tormentor" from Seto's hand for three turns. Kaiba then activates "Lullaby of Obedience" to pay 1000 Life Points (Seto 3000 → 2000) and takes "Slifer the Sky Dragon" from Yugi's Deck and adds it to his hand. He then Tributes "Big Shield Gardna", "Queen's Knight", and "X-Head Cannon" in order to Tribute Summon "Slifer the Sky Dragon" (X000/X000) in Attack Position. Due to the effect of "Slifer the Sky Dragon", it gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each card in Kaiba's hand. He currently has four ("Slifer the Sky Dragon": 0 → 4000/0 → 4000). "Slifer the Sky Dragon" attacks Yugi directly (Yugi 4000 → 0).
The duel could have alternatively had Yugi win on the 5th turn, or his 3rd turn. Turn 1: Yami Yugi Yami Yugi draws "Big Shield Gardna". Yugi's hand contains "Lightforce Sword", "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight" and "Big Shield Gardna". He then sets "Queen’s Knight" (1500/1600) in Defense Position. He then Sets 3 cards ("Lightforce Sword", "Magical Hats", "Collected Power"). Yugi then activates "Exchange", which allows each player to take a card from the other's hand: Yugi selects "Power Balance" while Seto selects "Big-Shield Gardna". He then Sets a card ("Power Balance"). Turn 2: Kaiba Kaiba draws "Obelisk the Tormentor". Kaiba's hand contains "Enemy Controller", "Spell Sanctuary", "X-Head Cannon", "Lullaby of Obedience", "Big-Shield Gardna" and "Obelisk the Tormentor". He then Normal Summons "X-Head Cannon" (1800/1500) in Attack Position. Kaiba then activates "Spell Sanctuary" to allow both players to add a Spell Card from their Deck to their hands: Yugi selects "Card of Sanctity" while Seto selects "Soul Exchange". As long as "Spell Sanctuary" remains in play, both players can activate any kind of Spell Card during their opponent's turn, as long as it is face down. Kaiba then Sets a card ("Enemy Controller"). Turn 3: Yami Yugi Yami Yugi draws "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". Yugi's hand contains "Card of Sanctity" and "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". He then sets "Alpha the Magnet Warrior" (1400/1700) in face-down Defense Position. Yugi activates "Card of Sanctity" allowing both players to draw until they're holding six cards, letting Yami Yugi draw six cards ("Change of Heart", "Life Shaver", "Soul Rope", "King’s Knight", "Pot of Greed", and "Chain Destruction") while Kaiba draws two cards ("Interdimensional Matter Transporter" and "Y-Dragon Head") Yugi activates his face-down "Power Balance" to force Kaiba to discard half the cards in his hand and allow Yugi to draw the same number of cards Kaiba discarded. Kaiba is currently holding six, so he discards "Big-Shield Gardna", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", and "Y-Dragon Head". Yugi draws "Card Destruction", "Disgraceful Charity" and "Kuriboh". Yugi's hand now contains "Change of Heart", "Life Shaver", "Soul Rope", "Pot of Greed", "Chain Destruction", "Card Destruction", "Disgraceful Charity", "Kuriboh", and "Electromagnetic Turtle". Yugi then activates his face-down "Lightforce Sword" to remove from play "Obelisk the Tormentor" from Seto's hand for three turns. He then Sets three cards ("Life Shaver", "Soul Rope", and "Disgraceful Charity"). Turn 4: Kaiba Kaiba draws "Z-Metal Tank". Kaiba's hand contains "Lullaby of Obedience", "Soul Exchange", and "Z-Metal Tank". Yugi activates his face-down "Life Shaver" to force Kaiba to discard one card from his hand for each turn that "Life Shaver" was on the field. "Life Shaver" was set on the field for two turns. Kaiba discards "Lullaby of Obedience" and "Z-Metal Tank". "X-Head Cannon" attacks & destroys Yugi's "Alpha the Magnet Warrior". Since one of his monsters was destroyed, Yugi activates his face-down "Soul Rope" to pay 1000 Life Points (Yugi 4000 → 3000) and Special Summon "King's Knight" (1600/1400) in Attack Position. Since Yugi had "Queen's Knight" on his side of the field when he summoned "King's Knight", Yugi activates the effect of "King's Knight" to Special Summon "Jack's Knight" (1900/1000) in Attack Position. Turn 5: Yami Yugi Yami Yugi draws "Spell Textbook". Yugi's hand contains "Change of Heart", "Pot of Greed", "Chain Destruction", "Card Destruction", "Kuriboh", "Electromagnetic Turtle" and "Spell Textbook". Yugi’s field has "Queen’s Knight", "King’s Knight" and "Jack's Knight". Yugi also had set "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", and "Disgraceful Charity" Yugi activates "Pot of Greed" to draw two cards ("Necromancy" and "Buster Blader") Yami Yugi then activates "Card Destruction" to force both players to discard their hands and draw the same amount of cards they discarded. Yugi discards "Change of Heart", "Chain Destruction", "Kuriboh", "Electromagnetic Turtle", "Spell Textbook", "Necromancy" and "Buster Blader". He then draws "Dark Magician", "Spellbinding Circle", "Magic Formula", "Magician's Selection", "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" and "Monster Reborn". Kaiba discards "Soul Exchange". He then draws "Command Silencer". Yami Yugi activates "Monster Reborn" to Special Summon "Dark Magician" (2500/2100) from his Graveyard in Attack Position. Yami Yugi then activates his face-down "Disgraceful Charity" to allow both players to add all cards discarded this turn back to their hands. Yugi switches "Queen’s Knight" to attack position. Yugi activates "Magic Formula" in order to equip it to "Dark Magician" and increase the ATK of "Dark Magician" by 500 ("Dark Magician": 2500 → 3000/2100). Yugi activates "Change of Heart" to take control of Seto's "X-Head Cannon" until the end of the turn. "X-Head Cannon" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba 4000 → 2200). "Queen’s Knight" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba 2200 → 700). "King’s Knight" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba 700 → -900). "Jack’s Knight" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba -900 → -2800). "Dark Magician" attacks Kaiba directly (Kaiba -2800 → -5800).
I think the only logical excuse Kaiba didn’t activate Pot of Greed during the 4 way duel before the semi-finals was because pot of greed is a powerful card. It would cause for everyone else to put their focus on Kaiba since card draw is very powerful in any card game. It is similar to how in Magic the Gathering card game in Commander.

What Battle city has shown are the following:
1: Marik and Bakura (particulary Bakura) are not very good duelist due to them wanting to torture their opponents too much, rather than quickly winning.
@@petersimpson4648 to be fair in the normal scenario joey is implied to have beat yugi off screen for his red eyes back.
GX I want
- Jaden vs Aster rematch
- Jaden vs Sartorius
- All the Jaden vs Chazz duels
- Pegasus vs Crowler & Bonabarte
- Jaden vs Bastion
- EDITING TO ADD: the various duels against the Shadow Riders
5Ds I want all the duels vs the Dark Signers and the duels vs Team Unicorn, Team Catastrophe, Team Ragnarok, team Yliaster (or whatever they were called).
Yes. There is a lot that I want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I agree with every duel you listed
Seconding this! :D
The Yliaster team is called Team New World.
got to say thanks a lot for these types of videos,i just live how u overanalyze the duels and give us all sorts of alternative ways they could have gone down.keep up the good work!
Duel Analysis of Yugioh Duel Monsters arc completion:
Duelist Kingdom: Not yet completed or started
*_Battle City (Finals): 10/10= 100% COMPLETE 🎉🎉🎉_*
Virtual World: 2/8= 25% Complete
Waking the Dragons: 8/13 = 62% Complete
Grand Championship: 1/7= 14.3% Complete
Pharaoh's Memories/Dawn of the Duel: 1/3= 33% Complete
*_Movies: 2/2= 100% COMPLETE 🎉🎉🎉_*
Actually, he's 33% of the way done with Dawn of the Duel. There's the duel with Bakura vs Kaiba at the start of the arc which Bakura stopped after he'd powered up Diabound enough.
I admit to being curious to see what an 'analysis' of the Duelist Kingdom duels would be like, when either player can just pull out an "attack the moon" move whenever it suits them
Still waiting on a Was Pegasus About to Defeat Yugi
@@hugz4genestealers Yeah. There are a lot of weird ones. I think Mai vs Tea might be one of the more normal duals. Maybe Kaiba vs Pegasus is normal.
Might be interesting to see a slightly different format for Duelist Kingdom, maybe trying to come up with similar sorts of plays that the characters maybe could have done had they thought of it?
One of my favorite tournaments in all of anime.
Me too! ☺️
I like to imagine an alternate timeline where Ra was so impressed by Joey surviving its fire that it just stops listening to Marik
Or when joey wins, ra respects him enough to listen to him even without the ancient ancestor.

Super stoked on this! This is going in my work playlist *and* my sleep playlist! Your duel breakdowns (especially of the DM era) are some of my favorite videos on RUclips.
I found out what I'm watching during work tomorrow.
You know what, you deserve it to just compile all these. All the individual episodes were fantastic, may as well have them all in one omnibus
Fair, but in the anime they can summon monsters in face up defense.
@@chronowolf4734
That and it likely followed the manga in which Bakura needed 3 zombie/fiend attack mode monsters destroyed within the first 5 turns to summon Necrofear then trigger Dark Sanctuary to also play Destiny Board.
Supposedly, you can't play your letters if Necrofear isn't in your GY.
@@mystery8820 the way the manga implies it that Destiny Board is Necrofear's graveyard effect

Same, 4 in the morning n half way thru lol
For the Millennium Necklace (sorry for the length)
It probably shows a predestined series of events that should not be changed without serious consequences she not only knows what moves to take but all of her opponents actions as well.

I'm not actually sure that Kaiba not setting Life Shaver face down is a misplay. By not putting it down, he's able to spend a couple of turns screwing with Yugi who keeps playing around Life Shaver and Kaiba keeps doing something else instead.

I work outside and have to move alot, so having these huge videos really makes my job enjoyable. Please continue to do these!
I love how this could be combined into a huge video. Great fun with these duels.
Holy cow, this guy has done a Battle City Tournament Finals Compilation! Brilliant. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've just got in to a VERY grind based game, I don't think you can appreciate how much having a detailed analysis on an anime I watched as a kid adds to that ❤
This. Is the coolest thing. You have done so far. Holy shit. Can we get a 5ds tournament analysis :O??
A 3hr video on the Battlecity Finals?? OK this undisputedly my favorite Yugioh Channel now
You're 2 versions of how the millennium necklace works don't have to be mutually exclusive. If the future she sees it set, predetermined, unless a millennium item intercedes, her own necklace is a millennium item and could still allow her to choose an outcome on certain events. Still, once she found a path that led to the outcome she desired I think she would stick to that unwaveringly, to the exclusion of other paths that could also lead her to victory (like the alternative play you went through that would have won her the duel early on)
I just binged watched all the individual battle city finals duel analysis videos and I'm ready for this monster of a video!
Joey.
And, I'd love a version of this for
The seals of Oricalcos, you can't have many more of those to make, right?
As someone who just rewatched all these videos last week..... hell yeah :) lol
Yo 3 hours of TGSAnime? Hell yeah sign me up. I'm expecting more of these lol
I love this, the only one I hadn’t watched yet was Bakura v. Marik, and now you got my head spinning like if you analyzed enough of other arcs in the franchise, more marathon length analysis videos could pop up which always feels like a fun addition to me.
You're crazy to put up all the battle city duel analysis vids in a whole compilation. I'd definitely play this whenever I'm on roadtrips
3 hours of goodness thank yooooooooooou.
I really needed good background sound for Smash grinding lmao.
This video is basically an early Christmas present. This will keep me busy for many dinners!
This dude knows exactly what i like
now that u reuploaded the video i can make my point about bakuras missplay u see in the manga the condition for summoning dark necro fear is removing 3 fiend type monster from the grave THAT WERE DESTROYED WHILE IN ATTACK MODE so yeah there u go thats why he summoned them in attack mode
3 Hours of Yu Gi Oh content. All about one of THE Greatest arcs of Yu Gi Oh. YOU BETTER BET YOUR REAR IM WATCHING IT
Hearing the Smash Bros music between matches is a really nice touch.
Ya know, I had forgotten about that Bingo machine when i was making my Blue Eyes deck, so that's why Bingo Machine Go is a card that exists, it's just a reference 😂😂😂
The Battle City Finals is finally completed! Great job Sam!👍🏾
37:18 Either giltia the D knight just so it would’ve had one last funny appearance since the Esperoba duel or Flame swordsman.
Love this long duel analysis vid.
I’ve been waiting for something like this alright boys let’s strap in for the long haul 😂❤
Thank you TGSAnime! Love your consistently great content!
I mean this in the nicest way possible, I’m Gonna fall asleep to this for the next week 😅
Added to my sleep aid playlist 👍🏿
In the Yugi vs Kaiba Duel, Yes Kaiba could have won if he brought back obelisk. However Kaiba often goes for his "perfect victory". After his duel with Ishizu, it seemed like he had regained his love for the Blue-eyes White dragon. Was it a misplay, yes, but all things considered it makes sense he would make that play.
Already watched all these. But I'm at work, without knowing what to listen to. Let's go again!
What a great way to introduce the compilation
Nice, something to listen to while I eat dinner
8:53 right here Yugi could have also use monster reborn to take Dark Necrefear from the graveyard. This disables dark sanctuary and ruins Bakura’s day.
Love these vids!
Doubt you'll see this but man I'd love a Pegasus vs Yugi review and also a Boss Monster of every character video! Especially GX it's my favorite
Now we need Team Unicorn vs Team 5D's! 5-6 duals, some mind games, and a whole lot of bad writing!
Bad writing indeed, with so many cards in Yusei's GY, he coukd have played his new fusion differently and go for game sooner.
In forbidden memories (ps1) you could only summon something in attack mode, then you moved it to defence after you had played it. So it's one of the only official yugioh situations where you can put a monster into defence the turn you played it, it's also one of the the only times you can have facedown attack cards.
this is probably great for people totally new to your content
I love watching his analysis vids because it helps me set up for my reenactment videos I make with edopro.
Please do Yuya vs Reed Pepper because I noticed a very big misplay that could’ve won SOMEONE the duel

halfway through the vid, really enjoying this compilation, but kinda wish that the analysis at the end of each duel was included too (tho i can imagine it would be annoying to re-record them if you included the video wrap-up in it). in any case, good stuff!
Someday, please compare/rank the protagonist powers. Like: Atem's luck boost, Gentle Darkness, Zexal draw, etc.
The Necklace does not grant one the power to change the future, the power they have over the future is the same that any other mortal possesses. Foresight is ONLY Foreknowledge.
This is awesome!!!!! Just amazing!! Bravo!
Or I’ll have to duel you into submission!”
Hahahaha 😂
I love this channel.
I can dig this Marathon video!!
Please do these duels

Turn 1: Yami Yugi
Yami Yugi draws "Big Shield Gardna".
Yugi's hand contains "Lightforce Sword", "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight" and "Big Shield Gardna".
He then sets "Big Shield Gardna" (100/2600) in Defense Position.
He then Sets a card ("Lightforce Sword").
Turn 2: Kaiba
Kaiba draws "Obelisk the Tormentor".
Turn 3: Yami Yugi
Yami Yugi draws "Alpha the Magnet Warrior".
Turn 4: Kaiba
Kaiba draws "Command Silencer".
Turn 1: Yami Yugi
Yami Yugi draws "Big Shield Gardna".
Yugi's hand contains "Lightforce Sword", "Magical Hats", "Collected Power", "Exchange", "Queen’s Knight" and "Big Shield Gardna".
Turn 2: Kaiba
Kaiba draws "Obelisk the Tormentor".
Turn 3: Yami Yugi
Yami Yugi draws "Alpha the Magnet Warrior".
Yugi's hand contains "Card of Sanctity" and "Alpha the Magnet Warrior".
He then sets "Alpha the Magnet Warrior" (1400/1700) in face-down Defense Position.
Yugi activates "Card of Sanctity" allowing both players to draw until they're holding six cards, letting Yami Yugi draw six cards ("Change of Heart", "Life Shaver", "Soul Rope", "King’s Knight", "Pot of Greed", and "Chain Destruction") while Kaiba draws two cards ("Interdimensional Matter Transporter" and "Y-Dragon Head")
Yugi activates his face-down "Power Balance" to force Kaiba to discard half the cards in his hand and allow Yugi to draw the same number of cards Kaiba discarded.

Love this video!
Finally, a 3 hs long video to watch after work, thanks 🙏
This is awesome!
Hi Ragnar, this was a very beautiful video. I would love to see whatever video you decide to make. It's always deep and well thought out.
Finally! Now I can watch one of my favorite RUclipsr that is 3 hours video to sleep to now
Will def be a video I have on while I'm doing art or relaxing, hope we get more long duel analysis compilations in the future
Great video. The only thing I would have changed is putting the Real Rules of Battle City video at the start.
