The entire first part of the real Yubel vs Jaden duel is an homage to historic Japanese wedding procedures. The rose, the tapestry, and the lotus... Considering how much Yubel "loves" him, it's excellent writing!
And at the end there was “the union”
Wow, I never knew that. That's indeed very excellent writing. ^^
And to think GX gets so much hate over itself because a lot of the episodes are shitty. =(
I always did think that Yubel’s deck was weirdly random.
This explains a lot.
Sorry if this turns out to be a double post saying the same thing considering it seems like RUclips ate my first post to me, the duel actually takes a lot more inspiration from a Jewish wedding than a Japanese one, although it might be a mix of the two. I’ll try and see if I can post the link as a separate comment.
Wow, that's interesting
7:53 In the anime, Winged Kuriboh does in fact stop piercing damage. This happened in the 1st episode of Yu-Gi-Oh GX when Dr. Crowler attacked Winged Kuriboh with his Ancient Gear Golem.
I was honestly about to mention this myself
But they retconned it when jaden dueled that Darkworld night, power murder inflicted piercing and effect damage
Edit: Nope I’m wrong, it wasn’t retconned there, I’m sorry
I think winged Kuribohs anime effect is when it’s destroyed you take no damage for the rest of the turn AND you take no battle damage from battles involving it
@@TheKpa11 I though that all effect damage by the spell on power murder?
Winged Kuriboh only stopped battle damage thou
@@Tron-pg4jc
You’re right. I checked, and it was all effect damage. Sorry
Love how the only thing super poly is bad at in the anime is actually being spell speed 4, since everone just pulls the schoolyard, "little did you know, i actually used my effect 1st"
Yeah...your opponent can't respond but luckily they had enough foresight to activate the cards before you and not tell you.
The trap card Yubel activated just before Super poly was Chain Material, which has the effect to allow them to use any card in hand, field, grave and deck to fusion summon. Jaden chaining Spiritual Fusion off that makes 100% sense.
Which even that wouldn't work, since Yubel can just activate Super Poly in response.
@@liamwhite3522 if she chained super poly to her trap, it will resolve b4 chain material, so she would need to be using super poly in a new chain which would then be done with unstoppable priority. If jaden chained to her trap, she could just set super poly & use on his turn. That effect of super poly was literally impeding the plot beat so they just forced the narrative around it. For his card to activate 1st, she had to pass priority after chain material resolves, either on resolution or during neutral main phase
In this example it can be argued that it doesn't really make much difference because it is very likely that Yubel would've activated Super Poly even if she knew about the trap. It still solves their main motivation that being their isolation, it just does it in a way that no one would've even conceived. The scene is played more for shock value than conscious character choice, which is a bit of a shame. I am curious to see how Super Poly is handled in other duels where the plot isn't so specifically guiding the duel. Even in the first duel, Jaden's goal was never to win the duel, it was simply to get Yubel to let go of his friend by giving her Super Poly and hoping that works out in the end
Jesse-Yubel: "I will hold onto Last Trick until Jaden gets Super Polymerization"
Jaden on the first turn: " I normal summon Elemental Hero Avian and activate Super Polymerization!"
Jesse-Yubel: "SHIT"
Yubel be like: *OOOOHHH NOOO!!!!* Wait a minute- you don't have a-
Jayden: I fusion summon OMNI HERO GREAT TORNADO!!!
Yubel: WHAT THE FCK IS AN OMNI HERO?!?!
Problem with that is Super Poly can only summon using monsters from the field.
@@dannybeane2069 No, that's its strength! It's jus too funny! I play it Red-Eyes and Destiny Hero, both cases going for Starving Venom Fusion Dragon! Again, it's jus too funny! It's better against Rokkets, though! Sorry, did I say "better"? I meant "jus too funny"!
My opponent: *plays a load of DARK Dragons*
Me: "I activate Super Polymerisation and Fusion Summon Five-Headed Dragon!"
My opponent: "... I... but... that..."
@@CD-Gaming Oh yeah, in the actual game if used properly it can absolutely destroy boards in an instant. In the anime, Jaden/Judai's fusions all have named materials so unless his opponent runs the materials he needs or steals it, Super Poly ain't nearly as useful as when the Supreme King ran it.
@@dannybeane2069 this is why they should’ve given him the Omni heroes! Super poly is just a brick most of the time.
I also have a theory that the reason Yubel kept bricking is that she purposefully played in a way so that the only Monster to deal Jaden damage would be herself.
Because no other monster could show him "love" like she could
Makes sense to me
That does sound like something she would do
And that would also prevent Jaden from being able to deal any damage at all but twinkle moss did anyway
It was mainly just to get super poly
I wish Yubel wasn't censored in both Japanese and English card... they were also nerfed to oblivion. I'd love to make a Yubel Incarnation deck.
Apparently, in the japanese text of Neospace Wave, it does not say anything about summoning monsters with specific ATK points, but instead, it reads that you summon a number of neospacian monsters equal to the number of monsters sent to the graveyard.
If that's true, then the Localized version doesn't even have text, and the text listed in the Wiki is just made up
I imply assumed there was a forgotten "or less" in there.
@@liamwhite3522 or an up to half the combined Atk of the monsters sent?
Well then the wiki one is stronger than the anime one, since it doesnt specify the number of monsters that you summon, just as many as you want as long as the atk is correct
So if you read the effect of twinkle moss it's why he could do that play and is a legal play.
“I use my soul to summon NEOS wiseman and attack for game” would probably be one heck of a power play.
Judge of the duel: Attack who for game? There's only one duelist here, and it's you.

I love Yubel's duels. They went beond "winning or losing". It was always all about the duel itself and in all but two cases, its objectives were reached through them.
I'm in agreement. Say what you will about her deck(personally think "she" needed to trim out a lot of the brick's and clutter), "her" objective was always met. Just thinking of who'd win between Yubel and Yami Bakura/Zorc keeps me up a night....
Even the duels they seem to be throwing there's a reveal of it having been the plan all along, which goes a long way to making Yubel seem a strong duellist without needing them to just stomp over everyone.
@@snowboundwhale6860 Agreed. Yubel plans her turns in advance, slowly moving Jaden into the position she wants. Its a much more interesting boss duel compared to one like Zarc who turbos out his 4000ATK custom OC card that has dozens of effects stapled on, then sits on it for the remainder of the duel.
@@johnnysizemore5797 How come the quotation marks around "her"?
@@alicygo9618 I always thought of Yubel as a female, but due to the way today is I'm not slapping a label on the character without a warning...
I always considered this duel more about the Storyline than the actual duel itself. That whole 3rd season was a Master's Class in character backstory...
I always felt like S3 was the most contrived when it came to character/story arcs.
Completely agree, although the duels were important in the season the characters and story were what made season 3 the best season in yugioh gx.
@@pn2294 that depends on if you're doing an Ensemble Storyline or an individual Storyline and, as much as I(and a LOT of other's) would've prefered the first, we unfortunately got the latter. Therefore, on just a character study of Judai/Jaden Yuki, it was well worth watching....
@@johnnysizemore5797 my main gripe is how it disregarded Jaden’s struggles in the previous seasons acting as though he wasn’t affected by it.
@@pn2294 that's true. But think about it from this way; what would the Season have been like if they'd incorporated it all into Jaden's character. Would he have done the same things as the Supreme King...
Jaden won basically at the start of the second duel. Had he used De-fusion right at the start, he would have killed the two 100 atk tokens, which means no tributes for regenating rose, which means it won't be killed to make the two rose tokens to summon Yubel. De-fusion literally would have been a domino effect!
No, because in the Anime version the trap also ends the Battle Phase...
Tbf, Yubel had a card in hand that would've forced "her" to discard a card. They toss Rose into Graveyard and it's effect will be online(I used to do it myself), as all it has to be is in the graveyard and doesn't state it had to be on the field first...
@@Blizz3112 Ok then lets look at another obvious moment. If Jaden didn't use fake hero and just used prisma's effect and Poly, Fake Hero would still be in his hand, which he could then set to use Rainbow Neos's effect to get rid of all her spells and traps, not only does this eliminate Fiend Rose which means she can't stop the 4k beatstick rainbow neos from ending game with rainbow veil, but also gets rid of spell chronicle, meaning super poly is forever lost to her.
@@johnnysizemore5797 she's a hermaphrodite. So just call her a chick. Or rather, "Best Girl"
If he had a way to destroy a spellcard he could just destroy Spell Chronicle at the beginning and inflict Yubel 500 points of damage for every card banished and that way she couldn't use Super Poly
Yubel responding to a counter trap with a continuous trap like an absolute mad lass.
7:55 This probably wouldn't have worked since in the first episode of gx when ancient gear golem attacks kuriboh, jaden didn't take any damage.
I agree with the first one though.
So they changed how winged Kuruboh effects works according to teh situation like in the manga?
No, Jaden should've taken damage against Ancient Gear Golem, it was just cheating
@@Playmaker24 nah damage calculation happens after a monster is destroyed
That’s why their life points only go down afterwards
@@Playmaker24 Or the anime just had a different effect like they've done loads of times. Just like how real bubbleman only get it's draw 2 if it's your only card period, field OR hand, and anime bubbleman only needs a clear field.
It's how Winged Kuriboh should have worked in the first place, anyway.
Wait I thought he still took damage though
I like to think Yubel's "bricks" were the monsters she used for Super Poly. Not like she had any way to get out Gate Guardian
For the second duel Jaden's trap only lets him decide the fusion material but that doesn't mean he keeps the monster. Yubel activated the fusion card so the fusion monster would be on Yubel's side of the field making Yubel the winner after attacking Jaden for game.
This is exactly what I thought as well so I was surprised he didn’t mention anything about that
I'd like to point out that she played Super Polymerization during her Main Phase 2. We don't know what Jaden would have done during his next turn.

@@mattbartels yubel has neos wiseman potentially in this scenario
The ending duel between Yubel and Judai gets me every time 😢
My favorite duel from Judai in all of GX
The dub ending does seem bittersweet considering it seemed like Jaden gave his life to save his friends from their dimensional detentions (minus Syrus and Bastion who were lucky to escape that since they never dueled or were sacrificed by Brron) and make amends for causing it in the first place especially with Syrus’s reaction.
Same here
Jaden could’ve attacked Yubel’s tokens with Avian and Burstinatrix and since Yubel evidently wasn’t playing any other monsters, she would have lost earlier so technically misplay Jaden.
A way for Jaden to win the first duel without Super Polymerization: Instead of summoning Chrysalis Dolphin, he should’ve summoned Chrysalis Pinny to summon Glow Moss. He could’ve then Contact summoned Glow Neos which could also destroy Advanced Dark through its effect which would’ve allowed Glow Neos to attack directly, winning Jaden the duel.
I know Jaden was trying to save Jesse first, but he could’ve used this combo to threaten Yubel.
That depends on if Jaden was willing to risk keeping his Monster's in Attack position. He had no knowledge of what was in Yubel's back row, not to mention she could've just brought her Rose back out and knock his LP down lower...
I think Arc V or Vrains should be done instead. He hasn’t covered any duels from either series yet.

Two ties, both deliberate. These two… so much against them and yet Jaden found a way to heal Yubel and begin preparations for their greatest challenge yet.

He should have killed that disgusting monster.
@@Deathmare235 how is Kaiba past his prime in GX?
@@flyer3154Kaiba doesn’t duel anymore in GX. It was actually his own Spirit Monster, Kaibaman who dueled Jaden and won. It was to teach Jaden a lesson that defeat doesn’t mean death.
This was a pretty good duel, though it is annoying how this was basically the final duel for anyone who didn't knew a season four existed, so fans who didn't looked this up will just assumed Jaden died at the end of the duel
Is there a season 4 and if yes where can i watch it
@@mytturkiye9446 I was wrong. Crunchyroll has season 4.
There was one more episode after this showing him return though.
@@darksideofevil13 Yes I know but that episode was cut from the dub since it was basically a transition to the next season and showing Jaden 's new form
I always wondered what possible outcomes the second duel would’ve gone to if Jaden changed the order of what cards to add to Yubel’s hand through Spell Chronicle. Say for example, Jaden choose Mystical Space Typhoon over Zero Sprite the first time? Jaden had no set cards and only Spark Blaster so even if she used MST on it, nothing of value would’ve been lost. Plus, not being able to attack twice through Zero Sprites effect would have saved Jaden some LP.
I don’t think it would’ve made too much of a difference in the grand scheme since the outcome would’ve likely been the same anyway
For the second duel, Jaden doesn't cheat. He summoned Twinkle Moss how he was supposed to, using Glow Moss and NEX. Neo Space Wave, from what I can tell, lets you summon Neo-Spacians who's attack do not exceed half of the attack of the monsters you sent to the graveyard from the effect. Glow Moss was still a legal choice as it was the only non-Extra Deck Neo-Spacian besides Flare Scarab that could have been picked, and it was the better choice as Flare Scarab's effect would be more detrimental against Yubel's. With Twinkle Moss Jaden has a chance to block the damage by switching it to defense mode(trap card), just ending the battle phase(monster card), or make Yubel's attack be a direct attack instead(spell card) based on what car Jaden draws from Twinkle Moss's effect. Thus Jaden didn't cheat and actually made the smartest play possible with Neo Space Wave.
It says with ATK equal to though
@@Dash-lx4ng possibly a mistranslation. Priority goes to whatever Jaden/Judai says in JP; if he says “kogekiryokku hammbu-onaji-iika no Neo-Spacian-tachi wo Tokkushu Shokan” then it’s a legal play, since that translates to “Special Summon Neo-Spacians with equal or less than half the ATK.”
The only explanation to this is that twinklemoss is actually counted as glowmoss as you can only use 3 in total (example 1 twinklemoss and 2 glowmoss)
@@AnnesMaate or it's just a mistranslation. Equal to exactly half the attack seems weird
@@sasir2013 yeah it seems that's is what most likely happened
Love these Duel Analysis videos! Their my favorite series of videos you've made!
Yeh same could watch this all day.
Same
Same here !
It’s one of my favorites too but I personally like the deck analysis more
Could go all day watching all of them tbh
Yubel shows herself to be a very skilled duelist who relies on a deck that is more than the sum of its parts thanks to how she combines a number of cards that would otherwise appear useless, so it's hilarious to think that while Judai played an amazing game at the end of the season and could have won if he desired, a big contributor to his victory was that his opponent was getting so many awful draws. Regardless this is part of why I love Yubel's duels, she uses a lot more skill rather than broken cards like the last two big villains.
Writing wise I find that since Yubel was using Spell Chronicle to get the cards she needed, the writers weren't thinking much about the cards she was drawing.
That’s the reason why Z-ARC in arc-V wasn’t an effective villain. He talked a big game about being the best duelist in the verse, when he wasn’t actually very skilled and just relied on overpowered cards throughout his duels. Half of the time, it seemed like he was making up the card effects as he went. Also his character design sucked.
@@HussainAkoumFilmit is also why Z- One was perfect. His deck was op but the cards weren't bullshit with 1377 effects. He had a perfect strategie and his game didn't seem like plot armor
As a German, I just gotta give props to the Japanese names of Yubel in translation. The second stage, Terror Incarnate, is named "Das Abscheulich Ritter" in Japanese, which roughly translated means "The Foul/Disgusting Knight". The third stage, from memory, is "Das Extremer Traurig Drachen" which, again as a ROUGH translation barring grammar, is "The Extremely Sad Dragon", both names which play off of Yubel's emotions, where she asks Jaden if he thinks that she must be such a great monster (not the Duel Monster definition) to him.
This duel with Yubel (and the revelation behind the Supreme King) awakened my love for the "Redeemed Demon" story troupe. So many seemingly "evil" forces on the surface spawned from good intention, albeit a bit on the evil extreme. The Gentle Darkness was corrupted later on but initially served as the force to stop The Light from annihilating everything (and resumed to do so when Jaden had control over it). Yubel was KIND OF on the same track but was consumed with anger by being separated from Jaden, so she kind of- sort of went on a path of vengence to both be with Jaden forever and stop The Light from achieving its goal (can't destroy anything if there's nothing to destroy).
Irrational? Yes. Absolutely. But still~ Using the darkness as a force of 'good' (subjective) will be my forever weakness.
If you like a redeemed demon storyline, I cannot recommend Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous enough. There's a succubus companion called Arueshalae is best girl, you can recruit her and depending on choices either redeem her soul or corrupt her to embracing her demonic nature. Her romance is a strong point of the game but it's a ton of fun in all aspects :D
Yo if you love the redeemed darkness trope, Black Clovers entire overarching storyline for Asta and His Foster Brother (not Yuno) is exactly that.
Except Asta is the incorruptible good with the foster bro being the evil redemptive character.
Yessss!! Feed me more recommendations to satisfy my story troupe cravings!!! I hunger for more!!!
She never followed the darkness she was corrupted by the light though she does have op dark powers for some reason
This has always been a running theme in the series, everybody has a light and dark side but the darkness isn't necessarily evil, and combining the two gives rise to a greater power. It's why the chaos cards were so powerful early on.
Thank you for making these. They’re like a play-by-play commentary in a sports game lol
I’ve just thought of this, but does Yubel have a grudge against the Neo Spacians since they sort of replaced them after Jaden got rid of their card.
She’s got a grudge against everyone associated with Jaden
She mainly holds a grudge against Jaden and Jesse. Jaden cause he got rid of her and Jesse cause he replaced her as his best friend
Yes, you are correct.
I believe there was a line in the Jaiden/Jesse vs Yubel/Marcel duel when Yubel said that the Neo spacians replaced her as Jaiden talks to them the same way he used to talk to her.
she really hated the dolphin she attacked that man 2x in a row 😂
She does mainly Neos
Even though jaden remember her years ago he soon found out while out of the dimensional world the light of destruction affected her blinded by revenge until she was free from it stopping the corruption.
7:53 tell that to crowler in episode 1
Keep in mind that Jaden's goal in both duels was never to win, but rather to free Jessie and the Crystal Beasts in the first duel and ultimately help Yubel in the second duel.
Could he have won earlier? Yes absolutely, but Jessie was still under Yubel's control at the time and even if his spirit was in Rainbow Dark Dragon his body would've been sent to the stars should Yubel have lost which wasn't acceptable.
Being "sent to the stars" is a dubism like the Shadow Realm and Johan would have been just sent to the hell dimension. Just wanted to correct the dubism, nothing else
Jaden's goal is totally to win during the second duel though, since Jesse was no longer under Yubel's grasp and since he was told that defeating Yubel would bring things back to normal. It's only when the flashback happens right before the last turns that his goal shifts to helping Yubel
@@oxcare5 That’s not a thing you need to “correct.” There’s two different but extremely similar continuities. Not a problem. You clearly prefer the sub, and that’s cool. But you’re not making anyone’s life better by “correcting” use of terminology/names/etc. from the dub.

Small detail regarding winged kuriboh: while it is true that it doesn't stop piercing damage in real life, it does so in the anime - as shown in episode 1 against ancient gear golem
Throughout season 3 of GX, Yubel was just shown to be a better duelist than Jaden in all 3 duels they've been in. Their first duel, which wasn't part of this analysis, Jaden needed Jesse's help to defeat Yubel. Jaden's duel with the Yubel possessed Jesse ended with a tie, and Jaden's final duel with Yubel was never finished, and Jaden definitely needed the power of the supreme king to have a chance to win.

The best thing about the Yubel x Jaden arc is the fact it was set up & foreshadowed from as early as Episode 5, we just didn't know it at the time.
Also to everyone saying Yubel would've won because Spiritual Fusion wouldn't have given Jaden possession of the Fusion Summoned monster, while you're correct about the latter part consider this: Super Polymerization was activated during her MP2 so she couldn't have gone for game that turn no matter what. Furthermore, please note that Jaden had already made his decision to try & save Yubel by merging their spirits via his Spiritual Fusion so he intentionally chose Super Polymerization to facilitate that (otherwise he'd have chosen Grinder Golem instead since he knew Yubel couldn't risk using it; the tokens come out in ATK Mode on her field).
Obviously one could make the counter argument that Super Polymerization can't be responded to and he knows that (which is true) but here's the thing... he *also* knows her ultimate goal is to use their duel to fuse the 12 dimensions (by fusing 12 monsters together to make Super Fusion God) _and_ that Super Polymerization only fuses monsters on the field. Keep in mind the EMZ didn't exist yet so the field could only hold 10 monsters at this time; it was impossible for her to fulfil her plan without a card like Chain Material i.e something to loosen her fusion parameters so she could also use material from elsewhere. Given those facts, it's logical for Jaden to recognise she needs to use a setup card like that _first_ for her plan to work, which would also be the time for him to chain Spiritual Fusion without fear (he knows she won't chain Super Polymerization in response because of the whole 'chains resolve backwards' thing & she needs her setup card to have already resolved).
Ultimately it doesn't matter because everything worked out in the end (unless you're a dub only guy lmao) but the point is it's not cut & dry like everyone else seems to think.

So, just FYI, Yubel is supposed to be considered a gender neutral character, which is part of the reason Yubel uses a male dialogue indicator in the original Japanese (has something to do with a spiritual aspect of people having a male and a female side). Another small thing, in the dub of this duel, Infernal Incinerator was actually missing from the sequence of Yubel's Fusion summon, so, in the dub, there wasn't a Level 6 monster. Whoops.
And then, I read this one interesting comment with regards to Yubel. "Jaden's favorite card is a mix between a man and women, part dragon, has an effect that deals damage based on the opponent's monster attack and through a source of light becomes much more powerful and vicious, before it gets replaced by Elemental Hero Neos. Are we talking about Yubel, or Elemental Hero Flame Wingman?"
No one cares alright. People use she because thats literally short hand by the dub. Just as we use 4kids names in place pf og.

@@WDinATX that would work... if most of the other franchises at the time with similar dubs have the fanbases dropping it but Yugioh hasn't.
I'll say that it wouldn't have mattered if Jaden won or not in that first duel, since all Yubel wanted was Super Polymerization. Even if Jaden won the duel she'd still have the card, her last trap was just to cover her escape since she knew Jaden would save Jesse from the blast. When the opponent's only goal was to get a specific card and not whether they win or lost the duel, then there's not much reason to dissect and point out mistakes. The only thing that would matter is if Jaden would use Super Polymerization or not. If he does Yubel wins, and if he doesn't then he wins. That was the only choice in the first duel that actually would make a difference.
20:33 Isn't GX Anime first?
Anyway, great analysis video! Looking forward to another duel analysis video like this! Thanks for uploading!
I like this type of videos you made
keep it up!
32:22 I had always thought they were just playing Gate Guardian/other monsters of a variety of levels just as bricks/garnets for Super Poly. I don't doubt all 3 Sacred Beasts were in there as Yubel's deck is a decently well rounded mix of materials for those cards (wouldn't be surprised if Triangle Force was in the deck, that could have been one of the bricks in hand as the backrow was full), and they already had shown their ability to control the Sacred Beasts in the duel vs Amon (which I'd love to see a video about). I could see Yubel having them as a backup plan if everything didn't go right. Maybe a couple Sacred Beasts, Triangle Force, Delta Barrier, Gate Guardian, and two other bricky materials for the Super Fusion God. Just my thoughts.
You know the funny thing? The 3 stages of yubel are levels 10, 11 and 12, so she never had to run gate guardian.
With Gate Guardian in her deck there's no way to tell what the hell she had in her deck. She might've pulled out Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth at any time, we never know
Good episode keep them coming
Love these series of videos! Have you ever considered having a Misplay Counter on them? That would be nice to see how many misplays were done by each person :)
Actually winged kuriboh in the anime happens before damage calculation as we've seen in the first duel against crowler
So glad I caught this notification. Thank you for what you do. I've been going through a really hard time in my life and yugioh and your videos have helped me so much. They bring me joy when I feel very little of it at the moment. So thank you very much. I enjoy your content and I look forward to more videos.
Damn nice video!
I always enjoy these analysis vids
I wish "Super Fusion God" was sorta summoned.
For a 12 monster Fusion it would need to have a real good effect.
Got any ideas for this one?
----
I think it would be like.
This card can only be summoned using "Super Polymerization" using Monsters levels 1-12 as Material.
1. This cards ATK and DEF are the sum of the values of all its materials put together.
2. All Monsters with Levels cannot attack and have there effects negated.
3. When this card attacks a non-Fusion monster reduce it's ATK and DEF to 0 and if this monster's ATK is greater than the monsters DEF inflict the difference as damage.)
(4. If this card has been on the field for 12 turns you win the Duel. Turn counting starts the turn its summoned.) - This is mostly due to the whole 12 aspect of the card.
---
Pros: High attack ceiling, Effect negation and ATK-DEF reduction, Piercing damage.
Cons: Ridiculous requirements to summon, (iffy... win condition.) Spell and Traps can still negate it.
----
Math for GX era ATK ceiling:
Red-Eyes B. Chick (800) ATK
Clown Zombie (1350) ATK
Arsenal Bug (2000) ATK
Giant Kozaky (2500) ATK
Cyber-Tech Alligator (2500) ATK
Frostosaurus (2600) ATK
Arcana-Force XVIII - The Moon (2800) ATK
Valkyrion the MAgna Warrior (3500) ATK
Master of Oz (4200) ATK
Rainbow Neos (4500) ATK
Gate Gaurdian (3750) ATK
Five-Headed Dragon (5000) ATK
TOTAL: 35500 ATK
Exodia-like, an instant win condition
@@sasir2013 Interesting but I am a little skeptical since we are shown like 3 Insta-Wins in GX; 1. Exodia Preformed by Marcel Bonapart. 2. Exodius, the Ultimate Forbidden Lord Preformed by Adrian Gecko and 3. Venominnaga, the Deity of Poisonous Snakes, shown by Thelonious Viper.
Would "Super Fusion God" have a insta-win effect. Possible... I'd give it something like that at least.
Yubel technically was the only villain (and yandre) to get what they wanted. Now Jaden can’t ever leave him/her; even in death. Jaden’s only way to “win” was by finally submitting to Yubel.
Then again Yubel also wanted a single dimension for them to both control yet she never got that so she didn’t get everything she wanted
Zarc wanted to be reunited. He got that
@@petercross1879 True.
I love this format!
what is next on ur duel analysis video sam? i really like these videos you do, and i hope u do more
I love this, as I just rewatched all of GX, and only tonight found the 4th season on crunchyroll, best series in my opinion, Jaiden and Chazz are just immense personalities and possibly have the best character dynamics in the whole series', gotta love Jesse though, even though I only had him for like 20 odd episodes.
The final Duel between Jaden and Yubel has always been like my personal favorite Duel, the emotions and the story behind it are great, and the Duel itself is a nice back and forth with both Duelists being about even.
Also, on a side note, I've tried Spiritual Fusion on EDOPRO and it doesn't work like you think it would from the anime. It only lets you choose the Fusion Material, not change the Fusion Summon, so if you're opponent summons something with specific materials you can't really do anything, so for example, if your opponent plans to fusion summon Flame Wingman unless they have another copy of Avian or Burstinatrix in hand or a monster like Swamp King that can be used as a substitute, then you can't really alter which cards they use. But this is the anime, so assuming this worked, then Jaden could have fused Neos and Yubel to make Neos Wiseman like you said, but the question is would it go to Jaden's Feild or Yubel's? If Jaden then he wins the next turn probably, but if Yubel, then Jaden would be in trouble as he'd have no monsters or cards on the field, and assuming he was playing with a 40 card deck, maybe 41 if he just added Rainbow Dragon without taking anything else out, then he'd only have 11 or 12 cards left in his Deck, (with four of those cards being Avain, Burstinatrix, Sparkman, and Prisma) leaving him with few resources to deal with Neos Wiseman.
20:30 from what I heard it is a miss translation, the right text of the card says:"up to half of the monsters attack points",so it a clear move
Love this kind of content!
Jaden and Yubel duels were so amazing! It was a battle between partners and it really brings me emotional to see those two united as one to fight against the Light of Destruction
A huge misplay by Jaden that kept him from outright winning the final duel against Yubel. During the turn when he summoned Rainbow Neos, he should not have put Neos on the field with Fake Hero (unless the anime requires both monsters be on the field for that Fusion Summon). Instead he should have done the fusion, then set Fake Hero and use it as fodder to activate Rainbow Neos' second effect. This would get rid of Spell Chronicle and Yubel's set Fiend Rose. Then he could use Rainbow Veil to attack for game.
I so love this series! Any possibility of covering Strings vs. Yugi? or maybe even the 4-Way Battle City Placement Duel between Yugi, Kaiba, Marik and Joey? o.o
9:56b kinda reminds me of that one scene in Pirates of the Caribbean. Where Davy Jones is standing on dry land in a small bucket of sea water.
7:54 eh, that wont really work cause if we go back to Episode 1 of GX, Ancient Gear Golem, which had Piercing Damage Effect, attacked Winged Kuriboh, didn’t actually give Jaden any damage.
8:02 this isn't accurate, in the gx anime winged kuribohs effect has always blocked damage from effects related to the destroying attack, even before it was destroyed (examples including the pilot where crowlers gear golems piercing doesn't do anything). Given it ALWAYS works this way in the show we can assume that either the fundamental order of operations is different for such rulings or winged boi has a different effect.
Winged boi built different
I've just been been rewatching all of these again in a row and i was wondering when i was watching the Yugi vs Raphael duel if you cuz plz do the rematch duel next cuz it would be a shame to have one but not the other. Keep up the good work btw.
Judai vs Dark Johan/Yubel is one of my favorite duels in GX. I liked how the Crystal Beasts was used in this duel and Rainbow Neos was a huge great moment during the duel!
18:32 the Wiki translated wrong probably, in Yugipedia it doesnt include any matter of ATK but rather a random Neo-Spacian, since as we seen in Judai's duel against Saio (Episode 170), Judai tried to activate Neospace Wave to send Arcana Force 0 - The Fool to the GY (0 ATK) but it was unaffected. Also, let's not forget that the card's text was too small to read.
Another thing I found, the set card that you thought was M Force was changed to be Prism Wall as it was a mistake in the Yugipedia that assumed it was M Force.
That's WIkia for ya. It should never be used as reference material for anything if another wiki exists.
Small correction about the ending:
Yubel was the one who played Super Poly, so Neos Wiseman would have been Yubel's monster, not Jaden's. In which case Yubel probably won.
She played it in her Main phase 2, meaning it would’ve been Jaden’s turn before she would get to attack, and he’d probably steal the fusion
@@namesdontmattergaming2756 how? I don't remeber Jaden EVER playing a monster-stealing card in the ENTIRE SERIES. I think the only card he ever had that did anything like that was Super Poly. Which is unique and currently in Yubel's possession. And even if he had it, what would he do? Fuse another of his monster to Yubel's Neos Wiseman?
@@ToniBingi Actually Jaden did have a monster stealing trap card back in season 1 of GX when he dueled kagemaru, he just didnt play it. But even then, given how yugioh protagonist magic works and the fact super poly is a creation of the supreme king, I’m pretty sure he could control/create whatever effect for Neos/Yubel fusion would’ve resulted, taken it, and won the duel
@@namesdontmattergaming2756 I like how your argument is basically "W-well he is the protagonist, so he was gonna win!" which is not convincing dude. Yubel would've had Wiseman on the field and she already showed she plays backrow removal cards like Mystical Space Typhoon.
Jaden would've needed to summon a monster (Which he didn't have) to use that trap he used on Kagemaru anyway.
@@jacobwilliams1223 1. He is the protagonist, so his chances are LITERALLY higher of winning. All of them have literal plot armor abilities that increase their dueling skills.
2. I was giving an example of a scenario similar to what Jaden COULD do, not exactly. They always give the protagonists made up cards that they play in duels to get favorable outcomes.
3. Get off my back lol
4. I doubt Yubel runs more copies of back removal cards cause this is the anime
I see neospace wave as meaning up to the combined atk of the monsters on the field sent, like a ceiling. You could get 3 0 atk monsters, or a combo of taka equaling half the atk of the monsters sent
Love these
Can we all agree the yubels need a reprint in the next ghost of the past set or sommet
im always down for more yubel. yubel is waifu
My main getting some much needed attention!
Hopefully, one day, they get some new Support Cards.
There is something to say about the fact that the original name of Yubel's final form is actually "the extremely sad dragon", gives a very different interpretation to it.
Hey man. Love your work. For your next archetype discussion do you think you could do subterror's please?
Technically, Jaden just chose the materials for Super Poly at the end, so Yubel would have still gotten Kluger/Wiseman herself and would have gone for game.
Jaden wouldve had a play
The other reason Yubel didn't pull a win was because he (Im going by the Japanese version where Yubel is more masculine. Still best girl) is a Sadomaso, meaning they enjoy inflicting and receiving pain. I love Yubae though XD
In the second duel, I think something that you might have missed. Jaden gets to choose what monsters are being fused together, but he does not steal the monster, Yubel would still have control of the newly formed Neos Wiseman, and thus would be the only one left with a monster on the field. This means she would be the winner of the duel.
9:27 fun fact: this is THE ONLY hero monster that has a summoning chant by Jaden/judai
It's "when the power of three unites into one, a great warrior is awakened in the center of the universe" i believe
I would like to mention the thing you said at the end, how Jaden could have won with Wiseman. I personally don't believe that Wiseman would be summoned to his side of the field since it's Yubel who uses SuperPoly. On the card (at least on the wiki) it only says you can choose the Fusion Materials, not that you get the monster summoned, so what I believe is that Yubel got Wiseman but she didn't care and forfeited the duel instead of attacking Jaden.
What a coincidence, I just finished watching this duel a few hours before this video was uploaded. In my opinion, this the best GX duel (153-155).
Can't wait for the next one
