    Tried it and it was delicious!! Initially made the mistake of adding too much garlic, then to neutralise the taste added 2 more egg whites. But it ended up being too watery after adding ice water. So made another new emulsion and added the previous watery toum and alas! Got perfect fluffy toum! It became even more firm and fluffy after refrigerating. THANK YOU!

I figured I spend WAY too much on schwarma takeout when a lot of the time all I really want is something with this sauce...now I can make it at home. Thanks... As with any sauce anything can be thinned out; either by adding ice cold water at the end or oil. Just remember that you can always add more but you can't take it back out. Do it slowly and keep tasting until you get to the consistency you want.

I am giving you 100%guarantee that this recipe is exactly the same garlic sauce that you would find in any middle east resturant... •garlic to taste
    •green peppers the same amount (not chilly)
    •lemon juice to taste (or as every video shows)
    •salt to taste
    •cream of milk (same is used in whipped cream)
    •oil, a bit less than cream (I use sunflower oil)
    Blend it all together until it thickens

    In a small pot or pan boil few spoons of water then add to it the egg white (on low fire) and keep steering until it's cooked.

    in my city (Gaza) they use Tahini sauce with garlic added to it, much healthier since there isn't a drop of oil in it, just Tahini, water, salt, lemon or lime, and garlic .... you can add some type of pickled green pepper sauce to it but that decreases its shelf life, plus that you can make another hot sauce on the side and control the spiciness/heat you want on your sandwich.

    Toum, though it’s similar in ingredients, it isn’t mayo for all the peeps judging her as if it was. Toum is much “fluffier” and with the water blended into it it’s much lighter in mouthfeel. Once the air blended in it dissipates, it has a syrup like consistency that’s still wonderful.

    Peeps! The basic of Garlicsauce is Mayonnaise not Yoghurt! With yoghurt its Cacik total different! The Arabs and the Turks make Garlic Sauce with Full Fat Mayonaise, some milk, fresh Garlic, Garlic Powder and dried Parsley! Blend blend blend thats it!!!! Thats what the Shawarma and Donër shops give you! Easy easy easy! Thank me later! Merci

      Thank you so much for this information!
      I just made this according to your instruction s and it is fabulous and so easy. I crushed/smashed the garlic chopped finely then the Helmand’s mayo added Lowery’s garlic powder and dried parsley and a splash of milk and blended blended with a fork in the serving dish. It is so good with my Gordon fish sticks , I’m under the weather and weirdly it’s the only thing I can stomach with this garlic mayo sauce . Thank you once again for sharing.

    nice video, your toum looks absolutely tasty, will try today. But I am going to do the time-saving method with an immersion blender. Within a couple of minutes (includes putting everything into your blender cup) you have either mayo, or in this case: Toum. You just have to follow a couple of simple rules. Search "Food Wishes" (one of my faves) Mayonnaise, or Basil Garlic Mayonnaise. The blending process takes even less than a minute with plain mayo.

    • @Recipesaresimple
      @Recipesaresimple  5 лет назад +1

      I use the immersion blender method often for regular mayo ( 1 of 3 methods) ruclips.net/video/nHHrGTUtm_Q/видео.html
      However , I never get the same result for toum using it.. delicious toum like we get in the Middle East.
