Shawarma sauce:
Sesame seeds (White til)2 tbsp
garlic cloves 4-5
vinegar 1 tbsp
lemon juice 1 tbsp
mayonnaise 1/2 Cup
salt 1/4 tsp
black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
oregano 1/4 tsp
olive oil 1-2 tbsp
Salad:
bell peppers 1 cup
onion Slices 1/2 Cup
lettuce/chinese Cabbage
pickled gherkins
tortilla 3
chill garlic sauce
butter as required

Just made this for my family movie night today. We’re not Mediterranean but this dish made me wish we were! It worked exactly as shown in the video. Took about 4 hrs total but a bunch of that was waiting on the marinade/because I’m new to cooking. Thank you for this wonderful recipe!

This in the video is NOT arabic style but it looks delicious as well!
Arabic Shawarma:
The sauce is only: garlic, lemon juice, a bit of lemon shell, olive oil and egg white. Then you blend it and slowly put vegetable oil at the same time as blending until it's as thick as you want it.
The shawarma: Many of the ingredients were right but MORE yoghurt and also clove is important ingredient!
For the chicken shawarma wrap: a lot of chicken, pickles and sauce. And then dip it with your side sauce (your own garlic mayo)
Chinese style they use bat instead of chicken
Surely they use more than just chicken breast? That looks dry.
@@flashcloud666 Beef as well, usually its chicken or beef or get them mixed. The toppings are usually pickles, pickled turnip ( its pink ), onions, olives, tomato, lettuce, sesame sauce on the beef, and garlic sauce.
@@jamestoop4767 Yeah, but I mean more than just one part of the chicken. Chicken breast only seems mostly like something from western palates.
@@flashcloud666 u can use thigh, the sauce helps the breast from going dry if its sitting for 2hrs plus.

Thanks for the recipe. I was in the Middle East for 2 years, and there was this one particular joint at Manama, Bahrain wherein the Shawarma was delicious. I was trying to find that shawarma in India, and I didn't find it anywhere. I was checking different RUclips channels for the recipe. Yours is the best and replicates the exact taste which I had during my stay at Bahrain. Thank you once again for putting out time and effort, making and sharing this recipe with everyone. Cheers!
The mayonnaise in the sauce though. Not Arabian style. There’s this different garlic sauce that they process in a food processor without mayo but garlic yeah, of course. They pulse the garlic cloves with salt at first then add lemon juice and pulse more scraping down sides if needed.. after that they gradually add a neutral kind of oil while still pulsing.. last they add a bit of chilled water and keep blending without stopping till the sauce has thickened into a cream. A big difference between arabian shawarma and Indian ones is that Indian joints just put some coleslaw, raw onion and mayo with the shredded chicken and wrap it up. Almost no vegetables, pickles, toum or tahini sauces.
