Its funny to see Guseinov picking up the extra queen at the end and then resigns
jejeje yeah this is true.
haha that was funny
yeah
Indeed, he didn't have a hope in hell of promoting.
it was the last act of a desperate man
This angle is perfect wish all other games were also in this angle.
***** Hey it's in a perfect angle, capturing most of the game. You can't expect them to suddenly just change angles in the endgame.
Camera angle is much better in these videos than in the Carlsen vs Nakamura rapid video. Thanks for uploading!
***** IMO its better. I can finally see see whole board,
Wah, Wah... The Angle? Cant u people just learn/enjoy the game the way it is? to me its enough ANGLE to foloww/analyse the game. Be HAPPY with what u get!!!!!!!!
Luis E. Batres The angle is important for following the game properly. In the age of technology it is not really demanding if we chess players ask for such a thing, is it?
Carlsen is a machine in the end game.
I just come back time to time to see Guseinov grab the queen... :D
Still coming back
6:45 - I always wonder what Carlsen is thinking when he does that look away from the board:
1) Oh he's lost now, what's the best way to capitalize?
2) Downloading a Million rook/pawn endgames from his memory?
Not sure why he took so long. I think he truly thought he had a winning endgame at this point.
hahahahaahahahahhaha he is thinking "I'm hungry I have to finish this fast"
+Zoe TheCat These endgames are very tricky
Zoe TheCat He Simply calculated the line...
that rook endgame was a model-example for every chess student. Funny Guseinov at the end. Still got the queen but in his dreams not at the board. He was like... Which wizard I just played?
can you read? the game between the 2 is very good for students who study the game to be better!!
I Really enjoy watching them playing very slow and accurate - On lower Elo they just throw pieces under time pressure !
and the guy took a queen thinking he was gone promote lol
this shit gets mad intense at the end damn.
Carlsen it's so good that he can turn opening
It was a dead draw but then Guseinov tried to go for a win, I think at 8:53 instead of Rc4 simply transfer rook to the h-file then create the philidor position (correct me if i'm wrong please)
8:36 c4 was the winning part, Guseinov didn t see that and lost.
+timespaice Can you explain why?
+timespaice He maybe should have take with the pawn, but in the end it doesn´t change much
+timespaice I know this is late but I think what he was thinking was that Carlsen would do an En Passant
Very suitable camera angle this is. Can't see the game properly
Does anyone know what the cord plugged in to the chess clock does?
Amazing carlsen it's so good
There should have been a camera at the top of the board
9:35 that look :"D
Wtf? Carlsen playing on the #3 board!?
that perseverance doeee
amazing endgame
Totally drawn position. Must have been very frustrating.
Not really. Carlsen wins in this position.
"Book draw," as we say. Doesn't mean you can't lose it otb ("over the board").
Btw, exactly what position are you referring to when you say "this"?
John Rain McManus how does black draw this position? looks like an easily executed win for white. nothing can stop d8=Q. black can't even give up a rook to stop it
David Bandel Yes, of course it is a won game at the end, or Guseinov would not have resigned. But the position at, say, 7:42 is almost certainly going to result in a draw in a game played at standard time controls (i.e., not in "blitz" chess). Most, though not all, rook and pawn endgames played with even material result in draws at the GM and "Super GM" levels. In fact, if the player with the advantage does not have better rook and/or king position, these games usually result in a draw even when one player is up a pawn. (I could stick this position - the one at 7:42 - into an "engine" on my computer, and it almost certainly would play the position out to a draw... but I'm lazy. Do it yourself.)
David Bandel "Irrelevant" to what, troll? My comment was that it must have been frustrating for Guseinov to lose that position.
...Rh1 with the idea of Rh6 at 8:54 is a book draw. Instead, he inaccurately tried to hold onto the b pawn with ...Rc4
I'm totally new at this. I'm watching videos because I'm starting to become interested in chess. What does it mean when they shake hands at the end? a draw?
Simply 'good game' or gg. Chess courtesy.
rever4217 But the game wasn't finished.
So? The game doesn't have to be played till the end in order for one side to forfeit. Guseinov just thought he had no chance of winning at that point as he was down in terms of both position and time. High level chess players resign quite often and it's very rare actually to see them play until checkmate. They know when they're beat and think it's not worth staying until the checkmate.
+Kenny Bennett He is saying to Carlsen "ok, you win"
I've just watched 3 person using the same openings as black againts carlsen in this very championship. Coincidence?
Clase de final de torre y peón.
8:54 is draw with rook h1 and rook h6 lool
What chess clock are they using?
After Carlsen put his king on d6 ,the only move was Kf7!= . Rc4-d4 was a mistake.
Tricky rook endgame
Carlsen seems to win a lot of games like this, even in slower time controls, where the endgame is optically simple but actually very tricky, and he just handles those positions better than anyone right now. Very hard to stay in a complicated middlegame with Carlsen because he's just so happy to simplify, and why not.
firendable Yeah, this isn't the best example. I still wouldn't envy the task of playing a theoretically 'drawn' ending against Carlsen though.
Hi kenny bennet
Why not Kh2 on 7:27? Isn't Rh8 2. Re7 winning for white?
White was always better in this game and even at the end game. Maybe there was a draw for black but not in blitz and not against Carlsen.
Why grabbed the queen???
Carlsen murdered him.
what is the name of this chess set?
Staunton DGT Chess Set
Getting a queen, and immediately resigning.
lol
quien gano?
Crush him. That end was humilliating. This game resume Magnus as the player he is.
muy bvien
Guseinov is muuuch too nervous
the chessboard is made of porcelain or wood?
wood, most definitely wood
Magnus mist Mate in 9# if he would of not ran out on time
Grabbing a queen and acting like you're going to promote a pawn may faze other players, but not Carlsen. Maybe Guseinov didn't get the memo that Carlsen is a World Champion and the best player in the world....
Why does Guseinov didn't eat the rook at 8:24 ??? 😱
+Katelyn Nicole Aquino With what? The king was not defending the pawn before the rook took it.
+Katelyn Nicole Aquino it was protected by the king
AZERBAIJAN !!!
Por la hueva agarro la dama xD
Magnus sweating?
+Naijuwan Dawson because Guseinov
y quien gano? xD
Parece que Carlsen
