at 9:37 Nepo makes the funniest face ever. daffy duck lol
kevlarunderwear22 yeah after I saw that I wanted levon to win
Aronian played most of this game with less than 20 seconds left on his clock.
Nepo is very funny
Ian should have forced the draw. By Ian constantly turning his head in seemingly disgust, he lost his focus and it cost him. Good tactic by Aronian.
The thing it seems about Ian is that he doesn't get to distraught by losing a game. It seems like he is there simply out of the joy of playing chess. Though, yes he was making faces when Aronian would not accept the draw.
U r very right neva under estim8 yo openent . He clearly lost kos of tht.
Nice HD but horrible angle. Can't see board clearly.
That face reaction to realizing he lost too time haha. nice game
That was awesome Aronian, kick this poker face out of the board
nepomniachthi is a cool guy though bit awkward at times
How Aronian won that game?! Amazing...
both are jewish.
So funny this face! jajaja 9:36
Haha nepo face at the end lol
I'm always impressed by Levon's ability to play under extreme time pressure. He is always down on time but it doesn't matter to him, whether he has 1 min and his opponent 15 mins, or 5 seconds against 50 seconds. He always manages to play accurately despite the time pressure.
why would aronian draw?hes one fukin pawn ahead at the queens side with a crushing attack.well played by aronian when he only had 8 secs against like 50 and won
10:49 - Não importa o que aconteça. Não façam isso!
Deixar o tempo acabar?
Well played by Aronian.
Ian is a kid seems like he stoped playing at 4:12 and was too confident about a draw.
Are They play Ing in dubai?
VvGrief AnubizvV Yes.
Could he have taken a draw by repetition?
I wasn't sure about the specific rules to this tournament but Nepomniatchti should have taken a draw. He had no chances of winning imo.
He should have claimed the draw. No need to ask.
BUD7H357UD there was no threefold repetition. how should he have claimed anything?
AnthonyAllGood 8:35 this position has occurred 4 times at this point, 3 of those times it was black to move. Sounds like a valid claim of repetition to me.
BUD7H357UD in blitz rules doesnt exist the 3 time draw repetition
Ian should take two things away from this lesson...1, Just because you have a GM after (or before) your name - it does not make you an equal player.
2, Show your opponent some respect at the board - or they will OWN you! ;-).
also... look at the damn clock sometimes xD
also... look at the damn clock sometimes xD

4:53 - I'm just an amateur, and I see that it Nepomniachtchi missed the strongest move in the game! There had to play not at Qa7-b8, and simply Nf5-g3 and all position Levon crashed!!
+Николай Николаев For starters, there is always Qe3, which actually might win since it forces a trade of queens. The position is still fine for black (maybe slightly better), but not much more than that. Plus, Aronian's Q-side majority is somewhat menacing since the kings are far away. Still, nice tactic that might have given Nepomniachtchi more play.
Elias-Axel Pettersson I'm far from being a beginner in chess dude and that you did not say there, I stand by my opinion!!
+Николай Николаев I am guessing you didn't really read my message. Or perhaps there was something lost in translation. I was not criticizing you. My tone was quite respectful (i.e. I didn't call you "dude"). In fact, I am saying that your idea has some merit. But I don't think it wins outright because of the tactical element, which white can easily avoid. Afterwards, he has perhaps a slightly lesser positional game, though it's still quite even. If you would care to provide some analysis, that would be helpful to all those watching this game and reading these comments.
Also, since you claimed to be an amateur, I took you at your word. I am glad to hear you are in fact a strong player. That's great. Keep up the good work. I hope we can play some day in the future. I am about 2250-2300 in blitz. Cheers man :)
+Николай Николаев I just realized the "lost in translation" part. I said "for starters", which is a basic English phrase. It was not at all meant to say "you are a beginner". I can see how you might have take that. Actually, I wish my Russian (I assuming from the Cyrillic, which I used to read fluently and unfortunately don't any more) was as good as your English. Also, my last comment is a compliment to you. I said that you had found a nice tactic which would have perhaps changed the course of the game. After the move played, Aronian was clearly superior. So, like I said, you made a good point.
