    So if you're a chess noob like me, and missed how black was able to get a piece ahead, it was at 7:49. Carlsen moves his bishop to a spot that blocks all of the knight's moves. The knight falls a few turns later. ...and based on Carlsen's eyebrow lift, it appears like he knew this would be the result when the knight was originally placed there at 5:21

    8:21 Smart of Carlsen to not press the clock and Karjakin got no time increment

    • @arcticangel1628
      @arcticangel1628 3 года назад

      8:48 Karjakin (white pieces) could've moved his bishop to the dark square where the Carlsen's king is right next to and his bishop is right in front of. Then this would create a challenge for Carlsen (black pieces). Carlsen can't attempt to capture Karjakin's bishop with his king because he would be check, since Karjakin's king is one square away from the dark square I suggested he move his bishop to.

      @@Tarikyurtsever09
      not illegal, not pressing the clock means YOUR time keeps on running out, it's your problem
      this means Karjakin got free time off Carlsen's clock essentially
      of course when one player is under time trouble AND they're moving faster than the increment (so they're increasing their time thanks to accumulating increments), they may actually be worse off, because the opponent (higher on time) needs his time less than then you
      this is an edge case though, and i don't believe FIDE rules make such distinction (the edge case would have to be somehow defined to begin with)

    • @MagnusAnand
      @MagnusAnand 8 лет назад

      +William Liu could you explain to a complete rookie why is it "ok" to resign before actually loosing? I don't get it. Why don't you wait till? Is it that impossible to revert the match being just one piece behind?

    • @WilliamLiu421
      @WilliamLiu421 8 лет назад

      If you feel like the rest of the game is hopelessly lost, you can save yourself the effort and resign. In grandmaster games, one piece down is a considerable amount, and a comeback is highly unlikely.

    I've decided to pass on the opportunity to call out all of your grammatical errors in your attempt to call out another posters.
    However...
    The definition of shit - Shit is an English word that is usually considered vulgar and profane in Modern English. As a noun it refers to fecal matter (excrement) and as a verb it means to defecate or defecate in.
    Therefore, '...he shit his pants...' is a grammatically correct way to use the word shit, in the past tense.

    Are you sure that he blundered when he hanged the knight? I wasn't saying that he said that Karjakin was a bad player. You're wrong as being strange is not a compliment to Karjakin as Karjakin was a very high-class player that is above us all. In what way I am angry? My rating was 1900. I wasn't comparing ratings, it was that I understood what happened on that moment because I analysed carefully first, in other words I used my brain first not my mouth, for a 2150-2200 it should be easy.

  • @RedPandas3111

    because he wouldnt have been able to block the white rooks with his knight on the D column, by taking with the pawn, he has another piece to support the blockade knight, he had to do this or else he was in trouble.
