I don't see why its not good for creators. It fits all the criteria spec-wise that i need for music and sound production. It has 16gb of ram tick, it has a fast processor tick, the processor is also good for single core use (which is better in most cases for audio production) so tick. Good storage space and battery life tick. Am i missing something? Because it has the same specs other laptops have that creators i know use...
@@mentkol i did. I bought it, great laptop. I7 12th gen cpu and 32 gigs of ram (upgraded it). Been running smoothly for all my projects. It gets a bit loud and the battery isn't the best at around 4 hours or 5, but i'm usually near a plug socket. Also i checked the temperature for overwatch and my software. It got MUCH hotter running a game. Sounded like a vaccum cleaner with how fast the fans were spinning to cool it. Glad i did my own research, got a great discount too. Don't trust just 1 source.
@@SpellFire while im sure the answer would be biased hehe, for a 1500-1700 dollar budget would you recommend this laptop over the Alienware m16 or m18 that both come with a 4060 and a ryzen gpu for better battery for the same price? (1699$ is currently the price tag for the m16 and m18 which are models that i quite like)
@@jingachakabought it at a discount. If it wasn't for that then yes, i 100% agree i could find a better value laptop. But for £1100, this was perfect. I couldn't find anything that topped it for that price.
do u think this is better than a g14 5800h + rtx3060 , in my country i can get both for more or less the same price, i like this design more , and chassis seems much more durable (non plastic back and no paint issues)
So for a mix of gaming and school work this sounds like a good option, I’m in the navy and currently in school so I was looking at this laptop as an option! Should I go for it?
I thought it was the exact same laptop I have, but there are differences, I probably got a slightly older version. It's a great laptop for the size, I have it with the RTX 3060 GPU in it, 512 Gb SSD and now 24 Gb of RAM, before it was 16 Gb, it is upgradable in mine. The performance is decent for its size, fan noises can be loud at times, especially the Turbo Mode is deafening, not really suitable to work during this, but if you leave the laptop alone doing its rendering work for instance, it's fine to keep it cool and performance up. RGB light on the keyboard is limited to three different segments, but again, for a small laptop like this, I find it impressive as it is. I have the IPS screen with 1920 x 1080 resoluation and 144 Hz refresh rate, and it's really good quality too. At the moment I have it plugged in on a 4K monitor and the GPU is also capable of doing that without a problem. Of course, the newest games won't run in full detail with that resolution, but most of the games will run fine. Some negative I have on my version though: 1. battery life is not great and with almost all PC's you loose a lot of performance if running on battery. That is my version of course, maybe battery is bigger on the tested version. 2. There is a bug when you change screen brightness, the functions for the buttons are inversed. 3. I recently upgraded RAM, yes it was possible in the earlier versions of this laptop, but they could have made a little service door for the RAM upgrade, but instead, you have to remove 9 torx screws and pry open the lower case with a plastic tool. This could be much easier. On my laptop, only 8 Gigs of RAM are soldered on, the rest is replaceable. Maximum 24 Gigs are possible officially, but with 32 Gb modules, 40 Gigs max should be possible now. It's a shame, RAM is not upgradeable anymore now. Heat: yes it's getting hot, I also use it for video rendering because it's the fastest PC I have at the moment. Don't know how long it will do the Job, but I already did several hundreds of videos with it and it never failed on me. No crash whatsoever.
Certainly. We would much prefer the Triton 300 SE's build quality in this case. But again, price is a factor and the Nitro 5 has far better value in a sense.
I got this one a week ago...today just installed and was playing for a while CS:GO ....not that heavy game...i noticed that the laptop became very hot at the top below the dispay ,even after pressing the TURBO button..Do you find this as a normal issue? I hope you will answer my question....
Nowhere else on the internet does it say anything about the display on the "base level" 300 SE, thanks for adding that detail in the review.

SpellFire, what do you think of the triton compared to a MacBook m1 16gb ram for video editing and similar things?
thanks alot for the review i was really waiting for this laptop your video might be the first official review of this laptop this year...
Ikr it's hard af to find information about this laptop it's weird cause is pretty good

good review, one of the best looking gaming laptops this year, just concerned about fan noise while gaming

How long in hours is the battery life for you?
Which is the best between this laptop and rog g14?
they named their laptop after a predatory marine snail, probably not the best name thinking about it lol
There's also Triton, a sea god and son of Poseidon😁
what did you think about it`s noise? Is`it very hight how the predator?
It can get pretty loud under load for sure. Definitely not library certified.
Is this better than ASU’s Tuf a16 advantage edition Rx 7600s
Nice laptop, still prefer the g14 though. Btw, what is that wallpaper you guys have
The G14 is seriously good. Setting a benchmark for others for sure.
As for the wallpaper… we forgot where we got it…
How does it compare to the Nitro 5 12500h rtx 3060, biggest difference is display/construction right?
Certainly. We would much prefer the Triton 300 SE's build quality in this case. But again, price is a factor and the Nitro 5 has far better value in a sense.
Could you please tell us what the exact model number is? PT314-52s-747P?
I have the i9 version of the same computer. the charging time is 2 hours on average and I have contraction problems how can I fix this
Does it have an additional SSD slot?
Unlike, do not have the specs of notebook on description... Have lost a couple minutes until see that not is a 3070ti version
How come a ips display get 500 nit brightness?
How does it compare to the Asus G14 top spec?
If you go for the top spec Triton as well, it extremely comparable.
Thanks
does this laptop have advanced optimus plz tell
No it doesn't, just a MUX switch. It's either Optimus or Dedicated.
Try to gaming test please 😢🙏🏻
It's all about gaming though?
i forgot to ask does this laptop support gsync with mux on?
G-Sync support will be dependent from region to region based on SKU.
@@Terafied G-Sync should be standard at this point.
What is the contrast ratio of this panel? From your tests?
We usually don't record contrast ratio but in general, IPS panels usually have a 1000:1 contrast ratio.
@@Terafied u said this had a good contrast ratio for an ips panel so im guessing slightly above that?
@@aksup4213 We've clarified with the local rep for Acer here and it's about 1100:1. But again, it'll vary from unit to unit so do take note!
can you enable panel overdrive in this laptop?
Why on *EARTH* would anyone *ever* wanna game on a 14 inch display is over me at this point
@@TheFalseShepphard we just want some more portability, that's all.
Why not for creators tho
It just doesn’t perform as well under sustained high performance load. Good for gaming though, which only have varied loads at any one point in time.

The area below the display is bound to be warm no matter the profile as that’s where most of the heat sinks are. It’s normal.
