    I really appreciate your videos. As someone who watches them just for the relaxation, but understands nothing of the craft, I'm thankful for the extensive explanations and reasoning for each step. And you achieve a balance that I don't see often in restauration channels: you are thorough and perfectionist in what you do, but you don't modify and hide the signs of age so much that the items loose any authenticity. Well done!

    Fantastic job doc! I really appreciate the "play by play" comments along the way throughout the the video. Well Roger I just came home after I visited Mr Patina for his birthday and we just had a long talk about my videos. And he stated that it's sometimes hard to follow my visuals regardless the comments, since I'm too far on the macro shots. So it would be nice to hear your feedback as well

      @@NTRprojectsThank you for the invitation to further comment on your videos. I want to be honest with you. As for me, I can say from a layman's prospective that I have no issues with the filming or editing, in fact I think they are fantastic. Biu I really didn't feel qualified to give someone that has been doing this for a long time like you or Mr P. advice of this nature. I just tend to get absorbed in what I'm seeing you do and reading the subtitles as you work. Those detailed explanations of the process are invaluable! I'm amazed at the transformations you bring to the rusted, tarnished, broken and mostly unusable items on each project. I know I've not been any help to you in regard to the filming but I do appreciate your asking. Please keep up the great work and the videos coming; I love them. Your shop is a good, sane place to go in this crazy world we live in!! Roger

    I've just discovered your channel, amazing restorations and good to see the great work you've done on your basement.
    With respect, I'd like to make a small suggestion?
    On the part of the video where you're wet sanding from 400-800 grit, the screen goes dark and light rapidly.
    You can stop this from happening by changing a setting on your camera:
    Fixed Exposure.
    It will keep the same light settings for the whole shot and will alleviate any dark/light changes caused by moving light objects, in this case it is your hand.
    Love from England

    This Mr. Patina is mentioned EVERYWHERE now, first at mymechanics, now with you. . . I think I have to subscribe to that too.
    The grinder has become really beautiful again, I didn't think it was that old.
    I think about what was originally at the point where the nail was and now the hollow pin is. Did you also think about a massive grooved pin? I would not have dared to "widen" the end of the main shaft and the shaft that holds the handle, because I would have failed.
    Greetings Tino

    Rapp oil is called rapeseed oil in english, also know as canola oil in the US and Canada. Just FYI. Great video as always!

    Hey dude! 9gagger here, finally made it to the vid :D. Hey, I gotta say, you're getting better at this (I mean, your vids and edits). Keep going on!
    I like what you did with the wooden handle, I think you made the right choice there. Not sure about the polished..."support... thing" (?) at the side.
    On a side note, when you quench in oil, aren't you supposed to shake the thing?

    • @NTRprojects
      @NTRprojects  3 года назад +2

      You shake it when the geometry is complex, so there is no air trapped, because that would affect the surface continuity of the bluing. But since it was only a round piece, there was no need to risk a burning ;) but good observation.
      Nice you came and leave such a nice and thoughtful comment

    Why the use of corundum in sandblasting this time? Is that 9 on the hardness scale or am I thinking of something else?

    • @NTRprojects
      @NTRprojects  3 года назад

      I use corundum when the paint is thick or the parts are not that delicate...and sometimes when I'm out of glasperls. I need to look up the hardness but corundum is perfect for blasting and used in general the most time
