Jon - "10,000 or less?" Ser Davos - "Fewer" The callback to Stannis here is excellent. The fact that Ser Davos absorbed Stannis' lessons, no matter how small, shows how good of a right hand Ser Davos is and how excellent of a leader King Stannis had been.
Until Stannis allowed Melisandre to convince him to sacrifice his own daughter and in the end what did it get him, his entire army eradicated & Brienne's sword to his neck!!!
I love Jon’s subtle “it doesn’t matter” because it shows why he would be a better ruler than Dany because he does not really care about titles and crap.
People joke about Dany's titles, but all the rulers get a parade of titles when they're announced, not just Dany. She has a few more than most because she's actually earned them over the course of the story in addition to the ones she inherited. Book Jon is a bit more erudite than Show Jon, so I'm not sure how likely it is he'd skip the formalities. But he has more of a reason to get straight down to business than Dany.
Stannis would have been a good king and he "cared about titles and crap." Dany was a good queen until writers made her bad to appease insecure boys with hurt egos.
The pride in what she says as she says it, “she is a queen we chose” that’s what makes her scene and “Dracarys” all the more powerful. There was SO MUCH trust and respect between Dany and Missandei that in her final hour Missandei knew Dany would avenge her to the fullest with just one word from her lips.
The problem is the north didn’t choose her. Maybe for her Danys is a Queen she choose but she should recognize that Danys isn’t giving that freedom or choice to other people.
"Please don't be rude to him" "Please don't be rude to him" (watching this scene years later when Jon is rushing to Theon and he is a decent person now)
In the books it was clear what their relationships and dynamics were like, Robb was the only one of out of all the stark children who had a good relationship with all his brothers and sisters, he was loved by all his siblings including Theon and was the only stark who truly treated Theon like family and like a brother. Theon hated Jon and Jon disliked Theon, it wasnt the 3 amigos. Theon and Jon would often fight in a sense for Robb's affection. Theon despised Jon because Jon was actually Robb's REAL blood brother and he would often make fun of Jon for being a bastard because of it. Theon even had a dream that he married Sansa just so that he would be Robb's brother by marriage.
I like the tension built in this scene. This is the first time Theon’s seen Jon in awhile and Theon’s understandably scared and Jon still has a bit of hate for what he did especially since with what happened to Robb.

Jon also has excellent eyesight, demonstrated many times. Edit: I was trying to say i agree, and add another shade of development. It’s a great detail all around. Not sure if that came across
I hate how people are so quick to judge Theon. I know what he did was very wrong but he has reasons. His own father didn't accept him, he was forced to make a choice between his blood (Greyjoys) and family (Starks). And not to forget, he was not more than 18 years of age. He made a mistake and he paid a huge price for it!
You can't expect Jon to know how much Theon has paid though. He might know Theon was held captive sure, but not what happened during that time. I'm eager for their reunion in the books. In the books even when Reek starts identifying himself as Theon again and openly defying Ramsay, he's still outwardly mentally fucked. Asha (Yara in the show) was talking to him for like half a minute and she seems to be trying to hold off the urge to cry. And in the books Theon has lost fingers and toes which Jon would likely notice given the way he walks and looking at his hands. It will be obvious immediately to Jon in the books that Theon has suffered, but here's what I wonder. Will resurrected Jon care? Because Berick Dondarrion and Lady Stoneheart both show that when the Lord of Light resurrects someone, not all of them comes back. I wonder how compassionate resurrected Jon will even be capable of being.
Night King hugged him.... with his own spear... in the gut! 'Beautiful and honorable death'.... Poor sod actually died for nothing but... ye. They also burned his body, which actually was unnecessairy with the Night King dead... They could have honored Theon with a place in the Crypts, literally engraving Theon's honor in stone. idk.. settle a permanent relation with the Ironborn like that? ... i guess DND 'kinda forgot that...'
Lmao pretty sure that was in the original script, dumb and dumber thought that Davos falling inlove with Missandei was a good idea somehow, the actor said fuck that. thats too fucking weird, thats why Davos barely had any lines in season 8
Just try and imagine what's going through Theon's head when he sees Jon here. GRRM makes it point to tell us how Jon looks more like a Stark than any of Catelyn's children (except Arya), and now that he's King in the North...and wearing that Stark breastplate...jeez, he probably feels like he's staring into the eyes of Ned Stark's ghost. He doesn't handle it too bad though...
I liked the little callback to Stannis, when Davos corrects Jon by saying "fewer", like how Stannis corrected him with "fewer" when Davos said he had "four less fingernails to clean".
when ser davos says.. forgive me if switch sides, because missandei said her queen is the queen they all chose because they believe in her I was like: this should sound familiar... its basically the same that happened when jon became king in the north
That little moment between Jon, Davos, and Missendi hit me different just now. How both sides "voted" for their new King/Queen despite them for two different reasons. One was a ruler of former slaves, the other is a person that wants a world to survive. One portrays themselves as a kind figure but has three terrifying beasts behind her, and the other is a colder individual with a kind heart.
2:59 when the McDonald's worker meets a guy in a Ferrari in the drive through and realises he is the guy he bullied in secondary school and put him in hospital because he was a nerd.
Jon and Davos having this talk alone with Missandei is an important scene... Here they learn more about Dany and what bands she has with her followers. She is their queen by their choice, not by some old legend from abroads. The funny is; Jons rule is essentially similiar... He is chosen time after time...

Jon Snow: 10 thousand men or less..
Ser Davos: Fewer.

The Stannis is strong with this one
can someone please explain? i dont get it
hello world Stannis used to correct Davis grammar
Davis did the same thing that Stannis once did to him, correct other person's grammar.
Jon - "10,000 or less?"
Ser Davos - "Fewer"
The callback to Stannis here is excellent. The fact that Ser Davos absorbed Stannis' lessons, no matter how small, shows how good of a right hand Ser Davos is and how excellent of a leader King Stannis had been.
It really annoys me when people say Dany is a better ruler than Stannish tbh
Jon’s reaction when davos says fewer
Until Stannis allowed Melisandre to convince him to sacrifice his own daughter and in the end what did it get him, his entire army eradicated & Brienne's sword to his neck!!!

Theon look very scared to see jon
Dirga Akbar Well Theon did betray Jon's brothers
After what ramsay did to him i dont think hes scared of many things but its just the idea that he betrayed rob h could look jon in the eyes after that
Dirga Akbar That's because he was scared.
Well I mean, Jon is King of the North and Theon's betrayal played a great roll in all the crap that went down up north.
Dirga Akbar More ashamed than scared.
I love Jon’s subtle “it doesn’t matter” because it shows why he would be a better ruler than Dany because he does not really care about titles and crap.
I think what Dany was planning to do was get all the little titles.
Then trade them all in for the the big title.
@@matwatson7947 she raised some charizards and set out to become the very best, to get the champion title in every region
Ye
Stannis would have been a good king and he "cared about titles and crap." Dany was a good queen until writers made her bad to appease insecure boys with hurt egos.
The pride in what she says as she says it, “she is a queen we chose” that’s what makes her scene and “Dracarys” all the more powerful. There was SO MUCH trust and respect between Dany and Missandei that in her final hour Missandei knew Dany would avenge her to the fullest with just one word from her lips.
I like the scene where they think they're about to die in the coliseum and they both hold hands.
The problem is the north didn’t choose her. Maybe for her Danys is a Queen she choose but she should recognize that Danys isn’t giving that freedom or choice to other people.
"Please don't be rude to him" "Please don't be rude to him" (watching this scene years later when Jon is rushing to Theon and he is a decent person now)
Kainaat Tahir same:)
I wish they did more episodes about the relationship between Robb and jon and theon in first season. It would be something else.
0:30 it's took until now for me to notice that Davos keeps correcting people on their bad grammar throughout the show lmao
Nah Stannis did. Out of loyalty and admiration Davos started doing the same after Stannis died
Theons body language is perfect for the trauma he's endured. Like a puppy who knows it's fucked up.
I came for Jon and Theon but I thoroughly enjoyed rewatching the prior conversations which I completely forgot!
I like the tension built in this scene. This is the first time Theon’s seen Jon in awhile and Theon’s understandably scared and Jon still has a bit of hate for what he did especially since with what happened to Robb.
"in a while"? It's the first time they see each other since the first episode of the show

This was the 2nd best Stark reunion after Jon/Sansa. Arya and Brans reunions where lifeless.

Jon grabbed Theon because he knew that if he punched him, he wouldn't be able to stop.
Hate to be that guy but, Theon OWED THE STARKS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He was their HOSTAGE, not their brother, not their friend, not their father's ward, not a ally. Why should Theon GREYJOY, owe anything to a family that mistrusted and resented him all his adolescent? Jon was being a hypocritical little bitch as well, he hated Theon but he expects him to pick his captors over his family? Yeah this Theon is a Stark plot was complete horseshit but no one wants call it out since you guys love the Starks so much.
Theon's response is just "Fancy meeting you here"
Big oh shit moment
Gotta admire that steadycam as they descend the stairs. Nice, smooth motion.
The fact that he KNEW it was a greyjoy ship from so far away
They did make the best and fastest ships
Might be the shape
Jon also has excellent eyesight, demonstrated many times.
Edit: I was trying to say i agree, and add another shade of development. It’s a great detail all around. Not sure if that came across
Might be the huge sygil on the big sail?
I think it’s because Greyjoy ships look cool and unique, all black with a yellow kraken design
I hate how people are so quick to judge Theon. I know what he did was very wrong but he has reasons. His own father didn't accept him, he was forced to make a choice between his blood (Greyjoys) and family (Starks). And not to forget, he was not more than 18 years of age. He made a mistake and he paid a huge price for it!
old monk dude he let him live. Jon was definitely thinking.
Geoffrey Tappenden is your second name Baratheon??
Say the same for Sansa but everyone hates her..........
Yeah he made the wrong choice but I can sympathize with his reasons. Besides, Robb screwed himself when he broke his promise to Walder Frey.
I am biggest Theon grayjoy apologist. this man needs a hug and a hug and a hug.
Night King hugged him.... with his own spear... in the gut!
'Beautiful and honorable death'....
Poor sod actually died for nothing but... ye.
They also burned his body, which actually was unnecessairy with the Night King dead...

Um... no... Liam Cunningham refused to do that.
Lmao pretty sure that was in the original script, dumb and dumber thought that Davos falling inlove with Missandei was a good idea somehow, the actor said fuck that. thats too fucking weird, thats why Davos barely had any lines in season 8
This scene is about Jon and Theon but the real hero here is Ser Davos remembering the words of Stannis: Fewer.
The stare down between jon and Theon is one of the few good scenes of season 7
Nah.
"will you forgive me if I switched sides" 😂😂😂😂😘😘
when ser davos says.. forgive me if switch sides, because missandei said her queen is the queen they all chose because they believe in her
I was like: this should sound familiar... its basically the same that happened when jon became king in the north
they all almost entirely based it on Jon being Ned's son. whereas no one in Essos even knew who Aerys was
davos already pretending he works for dany lol
I was honestly heartbroken during this scene. I felt so much for both of them.
The casting in this is still remarkable
I’ve seen this scene several times and I just now realized that Davos corrected Jon regarding less vs. fewer.😅
Rare good moment from this season.
“Speaking of good hearts, Missandei of Naath” smooth Davos smooth
You can actually see Jon's entire body below the neck trying to kill Theon, and his head only barely winning the struggle.
I don’t know why but Davos looks and sounds like a fisherman
Well, he is a crabber’s son after all...
Beacause hes a sailor
Because he's a pirate.
Because he's a smuggler
Damn, Davos' dialogue is really great. A lot can be easily missed though.
2:01 'She's the queen we chose.'
'Well I didn't vote for her.'

Jon and Davos having this talk alone with Missandei is an important scene... Here they learn more about Dany and what bands she has with her followers. She is their queen by their choice, not by some old legend from abroads. The funny is; Jons rule is essentially similiar... He is chosen time after time...
Theon’s betrayal is nothing compared to anybody else’s but he received the worst punishment

He literally had two kids killed and burned. Then he took over Winterfell after already betraying the Starks. Then he personally beheaded the stark's master-at-arms, Sir Rodgry, the same guy who taught him how to use a sword. Him having is dick cut off wasn't enough.
