    I paused and tried to sort out how I’m feeling atm.. i think i’ve never done something like this... just realized that i run away from my feelings cuz they’re all negative. Idk how to express it well but, it’s kinda not noticing how i feel something or not feeling it out of a habit of numbing/suppressing feelings until it’s strong so i can notice it.. idk if you got what i meant and if that makes sense. so, tried to think about what i’m feeling n it felt empty n i got overwhelmed, freaked out n got stressed about it so i stopped cuz I couldn’t know what i’m feeling and was afraid to face it and couldn’t handle it. woow!

      This makes total sense! If you're not used to looking at something and then you look at it, it can be a bit overwhelming and scary. But stick with it! It's important, it matters, and it makes a huge difference. Reference some of my other videos, especially the one on mindful breathing, to help deal with some of the tough emotions in the moment.

      Dr. Allison Answers i will try! I realize that it’s important.. and it’s so important for me cuz it might not seem like it but i’m a sensitive person n i’m all driven mostly by my emotions but at the same time i had to deal with cruel things growing up and still dealing with them, sadly. Not having support is making it harder to cope so i know i need to try new things n be more mindful and aware despite everything so it doesn’t consume me a assume.Thank you!
      Edit: i think not suppressing and trying to accept things i should not accept is a form of submission to how i live that i HATE to feel and it’s keeping me from loving myself and taking terrifying actions and making big decisions alone. Everything really tells me that nothing is gonna get better but i still have a blind hope and i just need to do these little n big stuff to put myself in the right track “leaving my environment”

I love using examples like that, because when it comes to mental health, things can feel so different and complex, but if we really look, we can find parallel and relevant examples in other areas to help us tease apart the complexities and make sense of things.     I went to see a clinical psychologist following a marriage breakup she was of no help apart from listening. On the second visit she asked me if I have considered internet dating. When I asked her questions regarding my husband she would not comment as she said she did not know the person. I feel let down she was expensive and I was just as depressed after 8 sessions.

    What if you feel overwhelmed all the time? High anxiety and trust issues due to abuse?

      Are you still experiercing emotional abuse? If so, I'd first seek out a friend who you can relate too & secondly imagne how it would feel like to move out of this toxic relationship. Once you feel like you need a hand? Go for trauma therapie or even hypno therapie. Where they help you process the story we tell ourselves ( believes, fear & personal identifiers) on a subconsicous level. Works out great, Iast year my anxienty took over, didn't reconize who I was anymore due to supressing, necglating & running away from my emotions. It just takes a little nudge to move from what you're feeling right now to feeling amazing (by processing how you feel). It's a game of discovery, so have fun!
      For starters let's get out of our head by doing a braindump!
      Secondly do a feeling dump (how am I feeling right now about this certain situation or how does this situation make me feel?
      Thirdly tune into your body, take note of what's going on & actively add 1 small adjustment each day. By the end of the week you've 7 adjustments, 7 processed emotions & an boost of moral! Why? Because you know for a fact you're doing something about it. In return processing what's happening makes you ferl a lot better.
      I believe you can pick something up & give it a shot. And know this 'the simple act of doing something about it ' is what helps to feel better. & gratefull for doing, feeling or being helps express your body, mind & soul. That's how meaningfull our emotions are to me.

    Thank you so much for the content, may i ask if this is something that everytime we notice a specific feeling/bodily sensation or do we only do this at a certain time like a routine.
    May i also ask if the feeling/sensation that we are feeling can be positive as well?

      I have just started doing this, I'm doing it at night currently and there is alot of stuff that triggered various feelings and responses throughout the day. Is it ok if my emotion check-in take an hour long?
