With this era, America lost its special character, which made it so exciting from a European perspective.
The junkyards like this are memorial sites to a bygone nation. The autumn mood is perfect!
It would be cool to go back to the day the new owners drove those cars off the dealers lot and to see how good they looked and how proud the new owners were.
When autos were art on wheels. Thanks for doing this.
The yard of the dead cars. If this could have been shown to all these generations of buyer/owners...like a Time Machine. Most probably wouldn't have believed it. What do the Big 3 think of, when seeing a part of their legacy ? Matt this type of video is your specialty. The music fits with the depth of field shots of all the rows, it presents a surreal history *scope aura. It causes some of us over 63 years of age to remember all the cars we sat in when we *hitchhiked around the state. How many*beaters we drove at different ages. Seeing mentally the faces of the past and the jokes and dates, etc. Thank you sir !!🎉😊
This is not a junkyard. This is a museum. No shrubs nor trees growing through these beauties. These owners have done a great job preserving these beauties. This was a fantastic video. Thank you MattsRadShow.
That's awesome they let you out there to film and explore. There isn't anything like that where I am.
Yeah it's pretty great spot! 👍
lots of beautiful cars ;'( RIP
When I was ten, my Dad took me to a "Junkyard" in New Mexico that was like this, and it was a pick-a-part kind of place. I "picked" two hood ornaments off a 1951 and a 1953 Pontiac (one all-chrome, the other the amber chief's head). Got them both for 50 cents, total. Still have them 50 years later.
These were once loved by their original owners all of whom have probably passed away by now. Kind of sad to see them all left behind like this, abandoned and eroding away.
Very cool love the old yards - I could spend hours looking around
Thanks Matt 👍🙂
I like that you don't rush and show the cars. The viewer can watch and enjoy the calmly
Glad you enjoy it man! 👍
This is my second time watching this post
its one of your best that brings my memories back
Thanks Matt
MAN…. All the families stories, of owners of each vehicle, good ole times, best of times and even the hard n sad times if only the past could whisper stories of each vehicle’s journey of existence what it was like.
That’s what goes through my mind when I see all these vehicles in this video, awesome video.
I’m on the hunt for a affordable build 1969-70 Nova SS or not for my recently retired pastime hobby, hopefully I’ll find it. I stumbled on this video, again nice job on video.
Thanks man. Appreciate it greatly!
Nice job. Thank you for sharing
That's a good way to spend a day. Fun and educational!
I would not mind living there with all that treasure, beautiful better than disney land for sure
Hey love the show you should do an episode on the guy who found his father's car thru your show or give an update that would be good show to see !!!!!!
Thanks walking yours and showing us all of these historical stories. So some interesting parts. If they hadn't any 1950 Oldsmobiles. Plus or minus a year. I'll have to call them.
If.only.they.could.talk.imagine.australia❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My next holiday destination.
É muita história neste pátio, fico pensando como as pessoas usavam estes carros antigamente, deveria ser muito bom
That first Lincoln IS an amazing car. I bought one from a guy in Stillwater mn just for the 430 engine in it. It was sunk down to the axels and all rusted out as the body is unitbody. That car is one if not THE longest car that came out of Detroit.
Hope they get a new life. Let's put them back on the road 🛣️🛣️🛣️😀😀😀
I love Junk yard videos ! I really enjoyed this one ! Thank you Matt
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it man!
This is a great video. The background music is bang on! The way cars were made and styled back then compared to the 💩 we have today!
Thanks to you and this video I was able to get ahold of David at French Lake. @21:11 there are at least 10-12 Cutlasses with a rear quarter that I could use for my Rallye 350! I mentioned this well done video to him!
Right on man. 👍👍
At 18:20 I dig the old truck with the 'elevated' headlights.
This is making me cry 😭....,....i love every one of these cars and trucks😭😭😭......I LOVE THIS !😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️
Can hardly wait for boating season with Matt
Great video
Cool old cars 👍🏻
Greatings from Sweden 😉
Hi matt thanks for the tour my picks are the blue white fotds an some of the 50s 60s cars . Cheers mate🇦🇺
the music - equal parts unsettling, emotional and nostalgic !- amazing video
Absolutely LOVE the blue Ford car hauler in the begining of the video. I've been looking for one for a long time. To bad it's so far away.
Yards like this are historically important. IMPORTANT.
I enjoyed watching that. Brings back memories..
Парк юрского периода 👍
Great! Thank you!
This is the nicest yard I’ve seen. Nicely organized
Stunning vedeo. One more subscriber !
Love your style of caputring the true style of times gone by.. new sub..love it..
I'm gonna have to visit here for sure, I looked it up and this place is like an hour away from my house
I have fallen in love with old station wagons. That 1959 Ford Country Squire in Wedgewood Blue + Colonial White is in amazing condition for nearly 63 years of age. Stickler about original colors too.
Awesome video there man love them old cars I need no more projects though but just nice to know what's out there can't take care of the ones I got I got two of the gotta go together yet thanks for the video at least the wood ticks ain't out now!!!!
as the owner of 2 mercury cougars 68/70 it was sad to the one in this yard rotting away !
Great video! Rust never looked so good.
Matt, plenty of old Iron in this Junkyard. And plenty of parts, or possible restoration autos. Will of course be no titles. Enjoyed the visit. Thanks for sharing 💯👍
Yeah that's true.
Very cool Yard !
No.computers.back.then❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another great tour with Matt
Thanks!
Why do we covet these cars so much? Even I feel this way. It seems like we are disillusioned by today's computer-generated car designs; they all look the same hence lack character. I wish I had millions so I could restore some of these cars.
Beautiful. If I hit the lottery, I'd just buy one of these places, hire a bunch of people, and get these on the road. lol
I've never seen a 2 door Continental before, and they have 2 of them! Also, somebody save that '42 Nash PLEASE! Super rare and looks nice.
.
I bought parts from one of those Edsel's. Easy people to deal with
Great video. Some of those older rust buckets will be hard to bring back lol.
Or, near to impossible .
that's not their job, they have been used for parts for the past 30 years, missing a windscreen? maybe that is not sad because maybe some other car that was being restored is now still riding on the road with that very windscreen.
👍👍👍👍
Wow!!!
cool 😍
That 62 imapla is really nice loooking. I tried to buy a polara like that one when i was 15
Yes the red primers car is a 1962 Ford thunderbird
Good stuff.... a lot of people would think this is just a guy walking through a junkyard with a camera. However, I noticed the editing and neat closeups and the panoramas.... Also the narration is kind of soothing. Calm, quiet comments. Reminds me of when I used to watch Bob Ross painting happy little trees on PBS years ago...I could walk through a salvage yard like this for hours. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for your kind words man. 🙏 appreciated.
The bad part why most looked like they would have sold,,it's because they ask crazy high prices
That's an amazing place pretty organized my favorite one is the 57 Ford at 10 125 looks pretty complete even if it's worse than it looks it was still look nice in my backyard nice video man
Classics are designated as such based on unique characteristics.
These are vintage based solely on age. Collectable is another matter.
i like the ambient music
I have a yellow Gremlin out there somewhere. 1979.
Bom birdifor😂
Would you look at that! would you look at that!
Yes the blue Ford is a 1956 Ford f 500
Love a Lot This vídeo YOUR NEW SUSCRIBER 😃👋 Hi from Ensenada Baja California MÉXICO 🇲🇽 Saludos 👋
And I was SO hoping to see a 1954 (specific) Series 62 Cadillac Sedan, needing both front fenders off of one
75 percent looks like 4 doors. That 62 impala was pretty clean. Good entry level car for a beginner
I've been wanting to get over there for years and have never been. I should just say heck it and and go before the snow comes.
Yeah. That's why I wanted to get out there now too. Snows a comin!
@@MattsRadShow snow, what is snow? (european here, we have like 2 days of snow a year..... )
I'd drive that ol Lincoln just the way it is.
When I was in Minnesota I saw a lot of cars on the road with rusred out frames and finders. So I hate to tink how bad some of these must be. 😩
Good cars in thire😮
Any 1965 Rambler American Convertibles out there?
WE FOUND SOME 1958 NEAR THE PLYMOUTHS ..
Most salvage yards around me here in Ohio, they will NOT let anyone in the yard. Your only allowed to go in the office. And that's it.
I sign a waiver to go into my favorite junkyard in OakLeaf Auto, in Hatford, SD. Oak Leaf waives any claims of injury on their property.
Because all it takes is one lawsuit in now people in the local jurisdiction that want the junkyard gone now have a rallying cry to get rid of it
@@TwoDollarGararge absolutely. Not to mention people have sticky fingers.
And each one is saying: "Just a few more miles, please".
Can't believe that GTO is there?!
This is why i usually really love vintage/classic/antique vehicles, They usually have the most beautiful & nicest designs that are made by the finest manufacturers out there, I serve to be a huge fan of classic automobiles when it comes to seeing old classics.
The only things i don't like is seeing them rust & decay as well as the worst part of seeing them getting crush which is what i usually hate to see, It's a terrible thing if that happens and it makes me mad that such vintage relics/treasures get destroyed by the most cruelest & most stupidest people out there because in 2023, it's a year that brings such craziness that many people don't like.
I may like modern cars but i rather really go after classic/vintage vehicles when it comes to them, Not that much beauties from the past are gonna be there and its gonna get harder to find such classics nowadays due to how rare and pretty much expensive these things when they get restored and go up for sale.
I always had this one dream where i wanted to drive every classic vehicle i could think of especially the ones that are featured in this video as drivable vehicles in perfect condition in a driving game, a GTA like kind of game or whatever game i could think of as i wanted to think about becoming a game developer one day.
If only i could imagine what kinds of cars that are seen right here in this video like having a list of what kinds of cars are they and timestamps of the video of where they are at, I could possibly do some research on such vehicles and someday, i could have the feeling of putting them in a game if that ever happens.
Classic cars are so cool, beautiful and a work of art, and of course i feel like the modern times nowadays doesn't know how to follow the style and they just keep failing over and over.
I believe that we should preserve every vintage/classic/antique vehicle for historical purposes no matter what condition they are in..
sorry, you are very naive, these cars were made by the millions, just like modern ordinary cars , a VW golf , a Toyota Corolla or a Ford Fiesta. It is and was impossible to preserve them all and the materials are valuable, so most of them got scrapped and recycled . some of of them ended up getting restored, this often costs more than a new car, that's why almost nobody does it, except hobby fans. and some of them end up in a junkyard like this, for parts.
A dozen old junkers here of the same model look dreadful, but maybe somebody got 10 parts out of them he needed to restore his one car back home. these are now just relics from the past, rotting away , and maybe one day somebody can still find that little part inside them that hasn't been destroyed yet by time. That is their fate. It's sheer impossible to shelter all of them, for little to no gain, it would costs millions
Great stuff.
Well seasoned, vintage, classic etc.
Many words to describe the great cars there.
Are you sure they are all OLD?
HI MATT,, MY SON MAX8 YR.S OLD JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL ,,WOW!!! SAD EVERY CAR HAS A STORY,, BUT SOME COULD BE SAVED AND SOME ARE GREAT DONORS FOR ANOTHER CAR LIFE .. How old is Ur son?
54:30 1955 willys bermuda 4 door 2,215 units were built including 2 dr and 4 dr . looks like fairly complete . No Henry Js or that many old trucks i seen
A lot of very nice cars. Without this cars the USA are finished
I agree, being from the UK these cars are the USA as I see it..........unfortunately today this era is over and the roads are full of boring plastic junk............luckily though these yards are still there full of classics.
When cars had faces
I love 4 doors people do not like 4 doors for some reason but for me they are valuable as the 2 doors
Loved the Studebaker's, Packard's, and Kaiser's. Wonder why they stuck one of the last Willy's Aero's next to a Hudson Jet? Many thousands of these brands were built, and they used to be ubiquitous and you wonder where they all went, I guess the same place all the people from those days went. Everything gets replaced in time.
maybe some atoms in your current car came from recycled steel of a 50s car
You should film coyote classics classic car dealership in Greene iowa
that white car is probbly bought and will be restored ,might end up in sweden as we love those cars , I run some myself
They made Edsel s from 58. To 63
😊
Sir, why are there no 2nd generation Camaros to restore ? I live in Brazil and really like your videos
Oh No 1958 EDSELS, JUS 1959'S DAMN. NEED PARTS FOR THE 58 LARGEST EDSEL SERIES.😁😉👍
would any of those still have anything useful in them for you if they were the correct model?
An how bout that blue Suburban by those old Fords. Days u could get a bare bones Suburban at a price u could accord ! Now they are Cadillac loaded luxury trucks. Boy! I miss those days of affordable trucks .
AMERICAN GRAFFITI '55 WAS OWNED BY A FRIEND OF MINE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS IN MARYLAND. ALSO WAS IN THE DON GARTLETS MUSSIUM FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.
Great video. Never see stuff like this in Australia. Would love to see the Buick row. We're there any Caddy's there? Cheers.
This video makes me sad for days young people will never know.
Wax on.....wax off. Just this one. no, the whole junkyard.
42:51 - 1964 Chryslers
The styling of the '59 Olds Dynamic 88 sedan sure lives up to the name. It's a flat-top, too 😀
