OK, I'm going out there with this generalised statement. What I have experienced from my travels around Asia, is that a lot of the people consider 'light skin' to be the perfect norm. Asian media doesn't help at all with this, you always see light skin models on advertisements, most successful people are light skin. So this issue isn't exclusively to India. What I have learnt about BLM movement is that racism is a widespread issue, it's not just restricted to black vs white, it's actually a 'light skin' supremacy we see across the world.
Honestly nowadays in asia it's the parents which are always pressuring the kids. This generation about 10-17 year olds are slowly getting more and more educated so hopefully it's less racist now.
You should be white in Africa and then see what happens. White people in the Americas and Europe tan to become darker. Everyone just wants to be something they’re not.

Oh my Lord! I grew up in Nairobi. I went to school with many Indians. My best friend was Indian. One day she invited me to lunch because they lived near the school and could go home to lunch. I always had mine packed coz we lived far. She invited me to lunch at their house. I innocently went. I will never forget her mother's face and I was like 12. She yanked her into the kitchen and slammed the door. All I heard was yelling and I had to leave. I assumed it was family drama and left. The problem was me!! A 12 year old black child. Apparently people like me didn't belong there. My child brain didn't quite understand. We were bestiesOr so I thought. I jeft mystified in my innocence. Feeling bad for her. Come to realize later because I was black. The beauty of being a kid is you forget. Till a few months later, my dad is her dads boss. I didn't even know. It was glorious. I still grin 25 years later when the dad was promoted by my dad. Treat all humanity equally till they prove you wrong.

You can't find white people either. You can't compare this to Hollywood because USA is a land of immigration and it has a lot of races. How many black people do you see in anime or other Japanese medias? Not many
From my observations , yes I've seen a lot of racism from Indians towards black people. But what makes me laugh is that as soon as those same Indians experience racism from a white person, they enlist the help from black people as if they're all of a sudden united. I've seen it happen. Just makes those Indians that do that look like users.
Exactly! That's why black should never help them. I saw a video with a black girl defending an indian girl because the indian girl was getting beat up by a white girl. I got so mad at the black girl because she got suspended and she should of never helped her. That indian girl would not have done the same for her.
Thankfully (smart) Black people of TODAY are telling other groups to "hold their own nuts" like we have been holding ours. We will no longer be enlisted to help in this non-existent "minority coalition"

In India there's different kind of racism. For example... Whites - Gorre Blacks- Kallu (doesn't matter if African or South Indian) Tall- Lumbu Short- Chotu Asians- Chinese or Momos Sikhs- Balle Balle Kashmiris- Terrorist Gujrati- Dhokla And talk about stereotyping Goans- Alcohol and weed Bengalis- Fish South Indians- Idli Dosa Muslims- Biryani Hindus- Cow Marwadis- Cheap We mostly use these words during an argument or towards people we love or appreciate. I don't know if this is racism. And then again, if confronted they won't call you names again out of respect.
I think so Indians are more colourist then racist. We people discriminate each other on basis of skin colour. My Social studies teacher was talking about slavery of African people and she said -"I feel bad for them, they are ugly but still they are humans. They don't deserve to be treated so brutally." She literally called someone ugly just because of their skin colour. It made me feel terrible that the people who are supposed to guide students are the once who still believe in this rubbish theory of fair is beautiful. A lot of people in my country discriminate others or are being discriminated by others. Colonisation and media are the once who caused this
I agree these Indians doesn't even know what is racism means they think colour discrimination and caste discrimination is racism which is not true Doing discrimination against your own race doesn't count as racism I never heard any white or African guy got $h0t in india because he is from different race
I'm not from Asia but I have studied in the cbse system for a while, I've had such a terrible experience, people would recommend products for skin lightening even though I didn't want to lighten my skin, they would make jokes, it would hurt me, but I don't show it, I've always wanted to go back to gcse but wasn't able to.
Rere'sAlluringGalaxy Cbse is an education system. How the hell can anyone recommend you skin products? We go to school to study and not talk about beauty. It happens only in ur countries. And we never told u to come to Cbse it was ur choice. Don't blame the education system.
I mean dark skinned people are even racist towards themselves. I’m from Sri Lanka and a lot of Tamils, not all but a lot, are very dark skinned and even they discriminate each other by saying stuff like “dark skin is ugly”.
Why do we even bother. Remember black and white is thing of the old. The more colours there are the more better. Eventually, there would be too many colours through evolution that people would no longer be able to differentiate one group from another. Let's live with that hope today and seek to find the color of a person's inner spirit instead of their colour, creed, caste, religion. Let's just live as HUMANS.

I am Canadian, my best friend growing up migrated here with his Family in the early 1980s, nicest people I knew when I was young. I remember him stating that the worst form of racism or discrimination he had to deal with in Canada was caused by his fellow Indians due to a caste system that had migrated over to Canada with many of our Indian immigrant population. It was kind of shocking to see as I never knew anything about it, so of course I read up on it extensively and it really blew my mind that it is still practised and in effect across much of India to this day.

Muslims- Biryani
Hindus- Cow
Marwadis- Cheap

And then again, if confronted they won't call you names again out of respect.
Its easy to say colour doesn't matter... But being in that person state is more difficult than people think...
Colonisation and media are the once who caused this
I agree these Indians doesn't even know what is racism means they think colour discrimination and caste discrimination is racism which is not true
Doing discrimination against your own race doesn't count as racism

Why do we even bother. Remember black and white is thing of the old. The more colours there are the more better. Eventually, there would be too many colours through evolution that people would no longer be able to differentiate one group from another. Let's live with that hope today and seek to find the color of a person's inner spirit instead of their colour, creed, caste, religion. Let's just live as HUMANS.
