old skool experience for modern day problems... i'm learning so much from your videos Zig,,, thanks heaps mate for your time and efforts in posting them for us to be helped and learn
just watched this, these egr pipes explode(rust, fail) from the inside, there is a aftermarket one made by Goss which is designed in a diffident way ,I also installed a Overheating alarm by a company called Engine Guard (is oz made ) and a 34mm Water Temp Pipe Hose Adapter Radiator Gauge Sensor Temperature Connect Kit (e bay) I have 1sensor on the side of the head and one on the pipe hose adapter .Hope this helps other people that own this $$$$ hit box and what to explode proof it.
I can see water is dropping... From passenger side under the car .. coolant is empty every 5 hrs driving...leak is only when engine is running... What do you think? Thx.. Mazda Bt 50 Xtr
Top vid, no BS in only 3min, not for wank factor for real, keep it up love it. More in workshop vids I watch the ads and click like comment for your content, fantastic work Zig been watching for years, the one shows the fuck ups of high paid engineering at the cost of the fuckers that pay big dollars for shit ... Show the folks just how ripped off you can be by shit like this ... Doesn't happen to Toyota's
I wonder if this will be a common problem or if it was just a bad batch ? How would you be if you just assumed it was a blown head gasket & never sussed the actual cause...that'd be me 😨
why is it necessary for modern vehicles to have all that high tech trouble making gadgetry when the old way worked just fine with a lot less problems,,,,,, chalk it all up to the EPA.. at least here in the states that's the reason.
That's one of the smartest things I've read , exactly. Old mechanic when I was an apprentice told me you can't beat a carburetor. How right he was and some of the carburettors they make these days are fantastic like the Edelbrock AVS 2 , still love the old ancient Holley though.
My Nissan X-Trail T30 is also losing coolant and I can't find the leak. Weird thing is the engine takes a hard time keeping itself at idle rpm when the engine is hot. Once I rev it up it idles smoothly. It's petrol 2.0L btw.
Not the kind of job you want to take on if you have to ask that question...It's quite tedious and involved and took me about 10 hours with good tools and a lift...I hope that helps.
@@ziggassedup yea cheers I'm a fully qualified mechanic but just wasn't sure how long it takes as I'm doing it on my own personal car lol thanks for the input

Thanks for your input Carlo.
Was thinking about buying a ranger but glad I've checked out videos like this first.. be giving them a wide berth.
Hilux here we come.
Good choice mate.
This problem is so wide spread on the Ford Rangers Ford should be doing a recall as it's not fit for purpose.
Yep those and the BT50.I did another one yesterday. Cheers mate 👍
Again you fixed it, great work mate. This would not be easy to find. Exelent mechanic.
Thanks Pete...Not so hard if you know what to look for...Bloody Deseasels.!
@@ziggassedup yeah but you're not the average mechanic that even I know more than them. You're a real mechanic.
Those oil coolers can be a real problem. Nice work tracking the leak down
Yes they are..Cheers Lloyd.
Not an oil cooler. Hot exhaust gas cooler.
This happened to me yesterday, great info mate. Cheers
Glad it helped..Cheers Barry.
great job diagnosing the problem lot of work to fix it but well done
Cheers Drew...It's gunna be a $5000 repair.!!
I know it’s relevant but can you remember when the XF Falcon come out they stuck Nisan badges on the XF Falcon Ute. 😂👍🏻
Yep...The Longreach....
Ha ha ha ha classic. 🤣👌🏼
Even better was the vl commodore with a Nissan engine
Lets not forget the Toyota Camry/ Holden Apollo, Ford Maverick/ Nissan Patrol. Swaps were all the rage back in the day
I can see water is dropping... From passenger side under the car .. coolant is empty every 5 hrs driving...leak is only when engine is running... What do you think? Thx.. Mazda Bt 50 Xtr
Could be the heater hose/connection.
This happened in my 2.2 ranger 2013 model. 80'000km and hole in engine block. Bloody ridiculous.
Not a fan of these pieces of crap.
How long to do a 3.2 head gasket if doing it on your own ? And what to look out for
It's gunna take a few days...Get the head checked for cracks.
I’m scared my trucks coolant is low and I’m leaking oil I’m at 270k miles and I hope my truck isn’t done for… 😢
I hope so too.

Cheers mate..I try to keep it real...This is going to cost the owner about $5000..!!...Pretty shit for a 150,000k Diesel...
I wonder if this will be a common problem or if it was just a bad batch ? How would you be if you just assumed it was a blown head gasket & never sussed the actual cause...that'd be me 😨
It is and has been for some time...Cheers Lance.

"you may get aaaaaaa.........erererer....."
Can you tell me approx how much it cost to get this done please?
Many Thousands unfortunately.
Good work Zig , That is a poor design in my opinion ..
I agree...Cheers Shawn.

There's no cooler on the petrol engine so that's ruled out...It could have a bad head gasket...Cheers.
@@ziggassedup Thanks mate. Cheers 👍🏼
How hard was the head to remove ?

Is that a diesel...????? Can’t stand em
Also not a fan of plastic coolant expansion tanks they always seem to have cracks.....
Yep a Deseasel...
At what mileage did this fail ?
I think it was around 150000km.
another rubbish design, bean counters strike again, Nice video
Long gone is the reliable Diesel...Cheers mate.
@@ziggassedup yes, reliable anything, everything fails too soon these days no matter what it is cars, tvs, clothes
Mine just happened,
That's not good.
Interesting, I looked up what an egr cooler is, found this from another Aussie ruclips.net/video/wazX0FYoLxw/видео.html
Yep that's the first series 4 cylinder...This is the later 3.2 5 cylinder and the problem remains.!!
