Taika Waititi admitting to downloading Thor: Ragnarok should not be a big deal (to anyone), and glad Disney saw it this way... I mean... he Directed the film and needed the footage ASAP so no harm-no foul.
Someone who works for Marvel is generally not "pirating" if they're downloading a Marvel movie. Anyone officially tasked with editing promotional material legally has access to all material related to the property they're editing. If you have a legally purchased DVD of Superman 3 on your shelf, but you download a digital copy from Pirate Bay to mess around with in Windows Movie Maker, you're not actually doing anything illegal, because you already "own" the rights to watch the movie. The people who hosted the file might be in some legal trouble if they're caught, and you might get the video taken down if you put it on RUclips, but just the act of downloading it for legit use is not illegal or "piracy".
The laws around pirating movies don't work like that. Just because you own a dvd copy of a movie doesn't mean you can download the film from an illegal source without it being illegal just cause you own a copy and need a digital one to edit. If he needed material for editing then he could have gotten the material right from marvel instead of downloading it illegally. Weather he was working for marvel or not, he still downloaded it illegally.
Well, to be fair about the Chris Pratt "leak," we all kinda knew they were going to reverse Thanos' work and also the announcement of Spider-Man: Far From Home sorta kinda spoiled that already. The biggest question was who will die: Iron Man or Cap....or both?

Wow! They got the story about Taika Waititi's Sizzle reel completely mixed up! The sizzle reel he made was actually way before the movie was in production as part of his director's pitch for Marvel to give them a sense of what his vision for the movie was. He downloaded a bunch of different movies from the internet to used clips from them set to Led Zepplin's "Immigrant Song". That's actually also the reason why that song is in the movie, cause Marvel liked the clip so much!
