Yup, mine died too. Not sure if I want to cough up the money and then have something else go wrong with it...I wonder how much they cost nowadays?

I’m having problems with my Designer 1 that I bought in 2003! I take it once a year to be serviced, nothing more! The machine works great, I just want to keep it in good condition! The place I always take it to now wants to sell me a new one! Last time I priced new Designer machine they started at $10,000.00 plus the software is around &6,000.00! That’s triple to what mine cost in 2003! The owner of this shop was so angry that I won’t buy a new machine, she conveniently “lost” my presser foot that is used for general sewing! And of course she has no clue & it was more than likely my fault it’s gone!
I’ve been calling every sewing shop I can find, even out of my state & I get the exact same answer each time...no parts are available at all, any more, no updates on the machine at all & I would be lucky if I could even get some one to work on it at all! So one way or another that nasty woman made my Designer 1 useless for sewing! I can embroider but no sewing & you have no idea of the huge pile of sewing I need to do! I’m going to have to buy a brand new machine & it won’t be a Husqvarna/Viking/Pfaff, ever again! I had wanted an Embroidery machine ever since I saw the first one that came out in the early 1970’s that was made by Singer! I finally got one in 2003 the Designer 1 that was in the repair shop more times than I used it! It rarely finished a project, that is the projects it didn’t ruin! I wish you good luck with your machine & if you find some one with parts, please let me know!

What died in yours? I really don't want to get rid of mine have you still got yours for parts?

@@dimmaemmy It was the touchscreen…so everything else worked but I couldn’t access any of the stitches. So frustrating. I heard it was the Achilles heel of the machine. Spent $4000K in 2001 for my D1…a steep sum back then. And that was with an employee discount! Still sad about it…🥲

@@dimmaemmy Sorry, forget about the parts question..I gave it away to a neighbor who’s Mom works at a Viking dealership. So they have the resources to fix it fairly cheaply…I got an Epic 1…and didn’t like it…a PIA to use…moved on to a Janome M7 and love it.

I need some help! Can any one sell me a Presser Foot for a Designer 1 Husqvarna/Viking Embroidery machine....I’m in desperate need of the “general sewing foot “A”! I will be willing to pay plus give 2 hoops with payment.

I’m on Facebook so friend me.....perhaps you could cannibalize my machine also for parts...don’t need hoops

@@robinkinley6851 I truly appreciate the offer but I’m not on Facebook & honestly, I don’t want to be! I am
In desperate need of that presser foot & ive even tried e-mailing the company & they don’t even make one single part for my machine any more & haven’t in about 8 or 9 years! None of the sewing shops around here have any in their stock! So I’m up that so called S-- creek! I guess it’s time for a new machine but the Husqvarna/Viking/Pfaff Machines are way, way, way to expensive! What’s worse is that I have more embroidery patterns than I can count that are all on Floppy’s! Thanks any way! I do appreciate you getting back to me!

@@catscompany735 The A and B feet are practically the same. Have you tried the B? Also, you can buy an external floppy drive that will plug into a USB port so that you can save all of those designs on a thumb drive.
