This video is invaluable. Thank you so much. The repair worked brilliantly! The trickiest part is finding replacement calibration stops. But now my machine is happily embroidering again - you are my HERO!!

Thank you Julie, this was a perfect video. I followed the video and now my designer 1 works perfectly. One suggestion, tell your watchers they need to order two of the calabration stops. I failed to notice there are two places that need them. I ordered one, (7.99, 8.99 shiping) so the next day I had to order the second one. 8.99 shipping. lol I had my machine to three different shops, no one could fix it, they all said it was too old and no more parts. None of them looked at the arm. All are machine dealers. They would be glad to sell me a new one for $10,000, I said, no thank you. I have paid less for a car. lol Also, I bought EQ6 many years ago, I called them to get the ok to download the program again ( I have a new laptop) they said they have EQ8 on sale $150. So I bought the new and improved program. The thing is they took the part of the program that I used away. I can get that part of the program for $40. per month. A RIP OFF!!

I’m glad the video was helpful. I had the same problem with people not able to fix it. I’ll make a note to order two- I had to pay for shipping twice too, which was frustrating but less expensive than a new embroidery module.

Thanks so much. I did order a machine for parts with a working embroidery attachment because I needed to do something for Christmas. The guy who sold it to me recalibrate the touch screen so now I have 2 machines one embroidery arm and maybe one day, 2 embroidery arms!! I feel empowered.

Your video was exactly what I needed to fix my machine thank you!!! Unfortunately now I am experiencing a different problem, my Viking designer se will not start up. When I turn it on it lights up and goes to the start screen “keeping the world sewing” and it won’t do anything else… I can’t access the service menu or anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Oh no! I don't know. That sounds like a motherboard issue. If you don't have a sewing repair place near by check with a computer repair place. They may be able to help you.

Do you know where I can get the first gear you removed? The larger one?

Great video with clear instructions. I think it was a little too good as Nashua is out calibration stops. I tried a 3D printed part from eBay with no success. Do you have any other suggestions for where this part may be found. Thanks!

I had the same problem and the only place I could find them was called dr Danes sewing machine hospital… they were pricey, I would suggest calling them and see if they can combine the shipping and or offer alternative shipping options

Thanks for the alternative! I just checked that site and it’s definitely difficult to navigate. I’ll have to keep checking to see if I can find it. I ended up using a hairdryer to soften the 3D printed parts I found on eBay. They then slid on easily. I’m not sure how durable they’ll be though, so it would be nice to find an alternative. Thanks again.

I wanted to respond to this post. I could not find the part. They do not make it anymore. I had one but it was old. I bought a mold making kit and resin from Amazon and used the part to create a mold and the mold to reproduce the part. It took several trys on the mold But the part was successful. I installed two of the parts (I kept the original) in my machine, recalibrate and the worked. Not sure how long but now I know I can make more.😊

I just watched your video on replacing the calibration gear. I tried to order the gear, I can not find it anywhere. Can you please help me find where I may purchase one of the gears?

Please do not add music to any demo video. It hurts the ears.
Voice is loud enough and then you add loud music, it is too much. This is chasing away subscribers.
    Great video though, thank you.
