Hi Amir, in my experience the soundstage they produce can be huge for their size, they work better at 40cm+ from the wall behind. The room I've used them in is approx 4x4x3 metres with an open staircase - no bass boom for me. They work well with valve amps too.

Very interesting and articulate comparison/review. I have 'Triangles 30th Anniversary Comete and haven't found anything in their price range to beat them yet but have not listened to Buchardts yet either. I would love for you to do a review on these but they are a little bit hard to find because of the anniversary edition. There are other models though that are very comparable. Thanks so much for what you do.

I recently bought a pair of 30th Anniversary Cometes. Undoubtedly a very high quality product.
I bought them because I have some hearing loss and the detail and revelatory nature of their signature sound returns some of the upper frequencies to me that are missing with other speakers.
I actually prefer the sound of DYNAUDIO, but their soft-dome tweeters, while offering romance and realism, are more subtle and as a result, I struggle to hear (as much) tambourine (or maracas or triangle) like I want to.
The 30 Ann Cometes reveal more upper frequencies with their very forthright delivery, but their presentation won't be to everyone's taste.
Given that the sky's the limit (money-wise) in the world of speakers, I know there are more perfect speakers for my personal condition out there, but in a price-range that I'll never be able to afford.
I'm growing accustomed to the 30 Ann Cometes, and am learning to love them, but if my hearing wasn't damaged I'd be a devoted DYNAUDIO fan.

Had the Klipsch. Sold it. They do certain things VERY well and in certain environments I might prefer the Klipsch but they just don't work for me. In my rooms they were fatiguing and tended be very picky on what kind of music they liked.

I didn't finish it yet but so far I haven't seen a reviewer mention that Triangle appears to be using exponential curve horns as are found in musical instruments rather than the tractrix curve that has become popular in the last two decades. The tractrix curve is shorter back to front but if it sounded better than musical instruments would be using it imo.

For what its worth, I think it would be based on what people state about the triangles. I have the Zetas which uses a titanium tweeter but a different paper woofer. It isn't as resolving as the more expensive speakers but still considered resolving, sufficient detail but higher end speakers show more transparency but the tweeter does show sibilant passages a bit more, so a bit more glare
I had the M2si and I found that amp a bit grainy and the bass was flabby. The higher end models per measurements I have seen have better damping factors so would expect tighter bass and probably less grain. I also have a hegel and a Keces which tend toward smooth which works with stuff I listen too but MF can work well with others such as rock.
MF is regarded as a bit warmer, but also a bit lower SNR and a bit more harmonic distortion vs other high end amps but shouldn't affect the Triangle in any negative ways and I expect the higher end models to be better than the M2si. Distortion levels decrease as you add volume as a couple of watts and above will drive these speakers to louder levels. If you listen at low SPLs, distortion will be over .1% but probably not an issue, my small amp is similar and its fine.
The only question is how that woofer will come across. I tried the Borea 2 and didn't care for it vs the cheaper Zetas. The Zetas give a wider stage and sound bigger than my Dali Opticon 1 an a bit more than ML 15i that I have, but the Borea sounded a bit bigger than the Zetas, which some like. For me, it seemed to exaggerate the sound but not sure if it was due to the woofer of the soft dome tweeter. I like the tweeter in the Zetas and think the Titus will display what I like with more resolution which is expected in the next step up. Not always the case but expected, even if just a little.
I found I preferred the Zetas to Quad S2s as well as the Dali Menuet SE. The Quad was fun with movies but sounded too mechanical with music, as well as a flat stage. The Dali was really nice and was as resolving as the Quad, both much more than the Zetas but I found it too refined taking a bit of the excitement out of the music. What the Dalis did well was provide a well defined image, had depth, high resolution, sounded natural, alot to like but lost alot of its charm more than 5 feet away.
The Triangle sounds great on every amp I tried, slight differences but class D, AB, high power, low power, its all good. very versatile but don't know how the higher end models will do. But for music I find the Zetas sublime in comparison to the others I have. Its first and foremost for music. The Dali is also versatile, give more weight to notes, good for both music and movies but sounds smaller but works well in my listening window at 8 feet (vs the Menuet) and doesn't have the detail refined out. The ML15i is best for HT, exciting, but a bit unnatural at times with certain instruments, like piano, as someone also had stated. I prefer the Dali for piano as well as the Zetas. The Zetas don't have the body but are such an easy listen but not warm, euphonic and still work well with movies that I wish I had another pair. Same as the Color bookshelf series. They are a bit v curved in my opinion.
So, I am also tempted by the Titus, had been for years but just don't know about that woofer. If you live in a damp/high humidity environment, it may affect the sound as well (Think Florida or deep Southern States). as the paper cone doesn't appear to be doped.
There are higher end products that give more, improved SQ, but not always sounding more desirable depending on what one responds to, that's my experience. At the current price, the Titus isn't cheap, outsourced to China which isn't really an issue if QC is maintained and is vinyl veneered vs real wood, which I would have preferred real wood at retail prices.
      Hope that helps.

@@nc3419 First of all thank you very much for your helpful answer.
I finally bought the Titus from a second hand nice price, and was surprisingly the low frequences they delivery in that small cabinet and his small woofer. They have a really nice overall sound, specially with jazz, classical and vocals music, but I found some vibrations with electronic music from their bass reflex ports that ruined the experience, specially with tracks that have a very low frequences, so I sold them and for the moment still listening with my old Q-Acoustics 3030i, that is a fantastic speakers specially in his price range.
Now I'm looking to update my speakers with some serious options like the Dynaudio Special Forty or the ATC SCM 19, but still doubting and considering who would be the best option.
      Cheers!

In every case including this case, we learn the Klipsch rp600m is a less refined rougher brighter rock speaker. Even the crossover network is a cheap 4 parts. The Triangle is far better and no surprise, twice the price, same as eg our #1 pick the JBL 530 and Revel M16... all these speakers are in a different category than the rp600 Cheers, Mario, Dragon Quartz Audio

Hello Mario, You are just mentioning the two speakers i'm comparing right now! in the beginning was thinking to buy the klipsch, then I heard some sound demos between the JBL and the Klipsch RP600m, and surprisingly, I find the klipsch is lacking some layers of the sound, specially the not-loud ones, like guitar licks, brushes, soft percussion ...etc, the JBL 530 is a beautiful speaker all around, and I was comparing it against the Titus ( despite of the price difference). Can you give me some insight here ? Thanks in advance :)

    • @mrmaschinaadventures
      @mrmaschinaadventures 4 года назад +2

@@Henkesh999 Hi Amir, you are having alot of enjoyment comparing these speakers. I can give you some ideas between the Titus EX and JBL 530, However, I have not ever directly compared the two. Previously I owned the wonderful Triangle Zerius 202 series, wow I loved those speakers. they were dynamic and lively and articulate but never too bright. Now they were a tower speaker and even then, they were designed with less bass. They did NOT put out much deep bass, just I think down to around 50hz and then very sharply drop off. Hence, the bass was wonderfully fast and clear and Triangle are known for this. So, we can guess the Titus EX has a similar profile...very tight very nice but I will believe that the JBL 530 is going to deliver a fuller deeper bass. I can clearly hear a bit of a bass rise with the 530 at around 60hz, it is a quite deep bass frequency to have a bit of a bump, plus they roll off naturally around 42 hz with the port tuned to that frequency, hence they often sound like the bass is very satisfying and full. I really think to myself "where is the subwoofer" because there is plenty of bass coming from them. I doubt you will have the same experience with the Titus EX, clear tight articulate sound but with less bass. Ok, 2nd point, it is definitely the case that the JBL 530 throws a large big bold soundstage exactly because it is their intended design with the compression driver, including crossover point much lower to the compression driver tweeter at 1500hz. They sound BIG, they are NOT sounding like a smaller monitor or speaker with a tight nearfield listening profile. So I suspect Titus EX definitely going to throw a smaller tighter soundstage compared to the 530. Those are the two main distinctions I suggest to consider between these two. There is no way these two speakers have a very similar sound profile. Last point, JBL 530 is 86db spl 6 ohms. To sound fully great, it needs plenty of true amplifier power, the more the better,. The Titus EX is more efficient and will do very well even with 20-40 watts per channel. Have fun Amir! Cheers, Mario

Do you think those RP600 will match an Yamaha amp AS801 ?
Somebody told me that the RP600 are too sensitive and the Yamaha AS801 pushing too much toward the trebble and metalic sound, which will makes a bad combo ?

    Dynamicality?
    Interesting word.
    I’ll have to use that!
Klipsch can be very unforgiving, which is what I like about them.
Supposedly, the updated horn shape and dampening material compared to earlier models or the Reference line, both of which I have, was made to help tone down brightness.
Positioning makes a difference as well.

Chosen over kef ls50 (better tonality, soundstaging, clarity, emotion) bowers and Wilkins (not as bright or insistent) and ATC (soundstaging and imaging better, more emotive and clarity) amongst others. Yes they are slightly bass light if you like rock / edm, certainly in a larger room would add a sub, but they offer so much elsewhere and bass is there and fast, so good for me!

The Klipsch just don’t have that warmth I was expecting from speakers. But they’re very punchy, clear and fun. I personally enjoyed the Q Acoustics 3020 more. And I would wholeheartedly recommend those over the Klipsch.

I agree. If I feed shitty files to my RP600M they will spit out absolute crap. Feed them crap and they will let you know, feed them good files and they give you a concert.

Use a Chinese SET with Russian tubes. Get Class A Krell level performance for around 500$ people should really wake up and realize a SET is a low power Krell...and will kick a First watts ass.

This is a good thing for the 600m IMO, its not a negative on the speaker but the source that is fed to it, if a speakers sounds good on bad recording that reflects badly on the speaker

You may choose whatever criterion you wish to buy/no buy speakers but I suggest you listen to a pair of RP-600M. Then get back to us with your buy/no buy suggestion.
I own a pair of RP-600M and if you pair them with a 15" sealed sub the characteristic sound is very similar to my RF-83, the $2500 Klipsch flagship speakers when new.

I’m just surprised how much klipschs are ugly. It is hard to understand because this is a legendary company with legendary and beautiful products . But they need to change their design team for their entry level and mid-level product range (from a design stand point of course.) They are still great products of course but design matters as well.

I found Triangles to be a bit laid back with a bit less body in the mids in comparison to other brands. I have the Zetas and it works well with music for an easy, airy listen, but it has a doped paper cone, nothing special but it works really well with the Titanium driver. Well balanced for me, in regards to resolution, detail, dynamics, etc. Just a bit of glare if there's alot of sibilant energy which I mostly notice with movies but typically some TV shows which I think are bumped up in those frequencies for people with internal cheap speakers in their TVs are soundbars.
The different cone in the Titus is the question. I didn't care for the Borea 2 but it has a soft dome which didn't have the magic of the titanium. Not sure of that woofer either. More resolution in Titus expected but may have similar sound to the Borea. Just not sure.

@@stormsdarwin8767 Yes they do. I have an original pair of Klipsch Heresys that I bought new in 1980. Around 1990 I had to have one of the woofers reconed because my cat clawed it out. The shop that reconed it asked me if I wanted something (I'm not sure what it was called) applied to the cone so that it wouldn't happen again. It was like some kind of thick clear coat that they brushed on. So I said sure, why not (and they also applied it to my other woofer). I still don't know what they used, but the woofers sounded better (tighter bass). I'm still using the speakers on my secondary system and they still sound great.
