I bought these and the IOTA Stack after your glowing recommendations and after a few months I'm very happy with this set up. Thanks Sean for all the reviews you do. In a world where it's very difficult to listen before you buy, reviewers like you make all these decisions a little easier. Cheers!

Lived with Klipsch R51 for 6 months and finally threw in the towel. Upon your recommendation I tried these out and what a world of difference!! Paired with a Yamaha AS501 integrated amp and a Velodyne sub, I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for your long term eval and your analysis…it really helped. I thought I was suffering from hearing loss with the Klipsch.

Really insightful long term review Sean - many thanks. I bought these speakers back in March when the lockdown started in the UK and have also upgraded my system in parallel. I listen in a smallish room with the speakers and me placed in a (socially distancing compliant!) toed-in 2 metre triangle with just under a metre clearance from walls. My music tastes vary from jazz to rock to occasional classical and these speakers just sound great across all genres striking the right balance for me- they seem to do everything really well without going over the top. I had much more expensive KEF floorstanders in a bigger room which were very good but the experience with the Triangles is much more engaging to my ears (but that could just be the room dynamics of course). Every upgrade to the source kit has been accommodated by the BR03s rewarding with more detail and better imaging. Couldn't be happier with my choice.

I have been living with the bro3's since early April now. I'm still blown away by them on a daily basis. The things that really continue to fascinate me are how well they sound off axis. Even in another room behind the speakers through a doorway, they still sound really awesome. Also the aesthetics on these speakers are really great. They are a true work of art. When I purchased these I was very close to going with the RP600Ms, however I am so thrilled with these that I know this was a much better choice. I fall into that category of being a Hi-Fi noob, but with the speakers in my life I have pretty much stopped watching Hi-Fi videos on RUclips. I'm sure I could spend more, and get more, but why? These speakers do a awesome job of scratching that itch. Thank you señor ZF for bringing these into my life!

which budget amps ($500 to 700) that pairs well with br03?

    • @UnconsciousCompetence
      @UnconsciousCompetence Год назад +1

@@ricstars95 I ran my system with the Cambridge AXR 100 for about 8 months, and it was pretty good. At the time I purchased it, that amplifier as a factory second for $350. That amplifier ultimately did not have the sparkle, and magic that I was looking for. I ended up getting the Yamaha A-S 1200, and have had that in my system for several years now. The speakers still perform very very well with better amplification, and I have no regrets. I would say that it is worth spending more on amplification, and continuing to run these mid tier speakers. They perform very well. Personally, I am still happy with them, and have no plans to upgrade.

I have the BRO3 and I pair them with my Carver M500t power amp, 250wpc. Back in the day I used Cerwin Vega cabinets with 15 inch woofers with the Carver and I just cannot play music
that loud where I live. That was a deadly combo. The BRO3 are more than enough for me these days. I still play a lot of vinyl and I love these speakers. Thanks for the review!

Based on this review, I bought a pair to replace a set of B&W DM600's that I thought had expired - the tweeter. When I first hooked them up I was put off - too bright but I worked on the context, played them for a time and after a short time I figured them out. Its taking me some time to learn the vernacular of loudspeaker reviewers and what I initially thought words meant - they didn't mean that. So now, I have resurrected the DM600's and they are on top of the BRO3's and the sound is very very good. Great sound stage, clear and very pleasing to listen to. They are matched up with a Polk PW500 (?) which is something I should have done decades ago.
Anyway, terrific review.....thank you very much and I do appreciate listening to your commentary on equipment. I'm very pleased with how the B&W DM600's pair with the BRO3's.

OMG- Triangle Bro3s and Audiolab 6000A Play. I've started down the improve my sound rabbit hole and might have found an endpoint. My old system was comprised of an H-K 3390 receiver and HSU bookshelf speakers and sub. I've always found the sound somewhat veiled; complex music, (i.e. Mahler symphonies,) tended to get muddy. My first upgrade was the Audiolab amp. What a difference that made! The sound was cleaner and the ability to stream wirelessly opened up a whole new world of music. Yesterday, my Bro 3s arrived and man, am I impressed! The sound is so much cleaner, the soundstage is noticeably bigger, imaging is improved and I can hear details that never came through the HSU bookshelf speakers. I know people rave about the bass response of the Bro 3s and while its not bad, using the sub really brings the whole system into balance. Next I have to do something about my turntable, an ancient Technics. It doesn't maintain a steady speed. Either it gets repaired or replaced. My only gripe about the new system is a slight lack of high frequency output. Cymbals don't sparkle as much as I'd like, which is probably as much due to an age related decline in my ability to hear high frequencies as the ability of the Bro 3s to reproduce them. Maybe a Schitt Loki to assist with that? Thanks to Sean for his ringing endorsement of the Bro 3s. I'm really happy with my new sound. And thanks too, to whomever mentioned the Slickdeals discount from Adorama, ($350, shipped.)

My bro got us these speakers for our computers in our computerroom, it's actually nice sounding hooked up to 100wpc int amp directly to our computer. We didn't feel the need for sub so used it for 1 year without one, then my bro tried sub on his and saw huge difference in loudness and more detailed and punchy heights and mids. So I ended up getting sub with it also. It got much louder since sub takes everything from 120hz and down away from speakers. It actually scaled up very nicely with sub. Im very happy with it.

W A That actually happened to me, and my friend at that Martin County Fairgrounds in Florida. It was a Charlie Daniels Band concert at the state fair, and we had just got down there from up north (I grew up in Newport RI). They thought we were just a couple of shmucks from up north, and were an easy target. Combined with some beer muscles too of course. So me, and my friend were getting ready to throw down (while we were waiting to use a Porta John no less. They actually followed us over there!) when his friends/cousins just showed up out of nowhere, one of whom is HUGE! See he splits his time between the two states, and has a lot of family down there. Never seen two hillbillies run off so quick in my life. 😁
They actually saved us again in Fort Pierce one night, because I was to drunk, young, and stupid enough to back down in an argument over a pool game in a bar. But that's another story. Either way, you're right. They will pick on you for no good reason like that. Not exactly the most civilized people I guess, but they're fun to party with once you get to know them. If you're white anyway. 🙄 🤣🤣🤣

Great summation review and a really great speaker! I'm pairing mine with a modified Dynaco ST70 through a NAD 1300 pre amp, with a Thorens TD 165 or Cambridge Audio 640c CD player. front end. The speakers I swapped out for the BR03, a pair of MBL 323s. Nice presentation. For me elac debut reference, laid back, warm and dark!I would also like to point out that there are too many people out there who can not distinguish, a bright sounding speaker from a speaker that has just the right sound, without mids and highs that cut your forehead and tire your ears and mind.We confuse some concepts. For example the elac debut ORIGINAL gained a huge reputation because it did not have shrill mids and highs ....

The Bro 3 sounds so much friendlier and more pleasant than the Kef LS50, which sounds very sharp in the highs from time to time. Kef is built better and sturdier, but that's about it. The tone is spot on, my favourite is the drums they just sound perfect. Also it's surprising how detailed the treble is, yet unlike the 902s and metal domes it never pierces or screeches. Most of all I'm noticing instruments I never did with the 902s, great separation of everything going on.

I purchased & reviewed these speakers once they were back in stock at Adorama after your rave review. I agree that these check off a lot of boxes for most people & I also agree that the ELAC DBR62 appeals to a smaller # of people out there (including me). Initially, I had the Borea BR03 paired with a NAD C 316BEE and it did ok. I then matched it up with a Cambridge Audio CXA60 and, in comparison, that really woke these speakers up. Lastly, I paired them with the Musical Fidelity M2si and that is, in my humble opinion, a wonderful match. Thanks for your reviews Sean!

Well done. I love my magnepan LRS but yes - they ARE 3 1/2 feet from the wall and the amplifiers (2 Emotiva XPA-1 Gen 2 monoblocks) cost way more than the Magnepans. I chose the XPAs because Emotiva used Magnepans to voice them.

These speakers make acoustic guitars and pianos sound amazing. If you play acoustic guitar and love folk acoustic music these are your speakers. I can hear the inside of the guitar and strings have depth when they are hit - a more 3d sound. They aren’t the best for rock music but not bad. Also, vocals sound great too, very clear and natural. If I could dial the forwardness back a touch I would. It’s not bad but I’d like it to chill a bit. Everything else I love. Also, they like to be out from the wall. Much deeper soundstage. They can be near the wall but with more space you get a deeper and more engaging soundstage.

I was told Triangle speakers are not good for rock, and If I wanted something "Amazing" for rock I should get the Klipsch 600m...Well let me tell you this, the BR03s sounds close to a Klipsh 600m but with a smoother and less forward treble, solid midrange, and the best part... It actually has bass. Something Klipsch doesn't seem to understand how to make for their bookshelf. And no I don't mean, punchy bass, I mean the bass is full, it adds depth to the lower notes and helps out the lower mid range... Folks, if you love Rock/Jazz/Blues like I do, stop looking any further and purchase the Br03s. You would be doing yourself a huge favor, for the $550 price, they cannot be beat. Examples of bands I listen to: Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Yes, etc.

I got the Bro3's on behalf of your great review and I have to say I am SO impressed! The one thing I find so enjoyable with these is the tone, instruments sound so damn real!
Now i have a dilemma, there is an offer for the Triangle Titus EZ for pretty much the same price as the Bro3's and I am not sure if I should go for it. I am pretty sure that I will like the sound, my main concern is that they might be too small sounding. My room is about 5x4 meters with a sub to fill in low end. Amplified by Threshold amp and First Watt Nutube Preamp. Any thoughts?
    Thank you

I've had Chane A1RX-Cs for my bedroom speakers which are still amazing speakers for cheap. Been debating about adding a sub vs changing out for the Triangles vs some smaller floorstanders... There are just too many great choices nowadays.

The Q Acoustics 3060S compliments these nicely. Its slim line but less boomy like youd get with larger subs which suit more home theatre set ups. If music is your main preference, this is a great solution

Thanks Sean, I too like these "living with " videos. You mention the new Elacs...... you reviewed them on another video. But you seem to gravitate to the Triangles. Im looking to add another pair of speakers to baeement setup. I heve Elac Debut 6.2s , then saw many comments about these . I respect your opinion . Should I pull the trigger on these or the new Elacs? I use the basement studio for pleasure listening and to play my drums along to My Music . Be well and safe

I purchased them, broke them in, and compared them to my Polk LSiM703. They sounded more similar than different (BR03 with a tad more midrange presence, the Polk more balanced and neutral). The Polks are twice as heavy, ten times as beautiful, and a bit cheaper (on sale). I returned the BR03s.

Perfect timing I am moving to Singapore in a few days and trying to decide what speakers to get when I arrive. I have been debating between Elac, Triangle and Wharfedale. Thanks for helping me make my decision. Triangles BR03 wins. Going to pair with the Denafrips Hestia and Ares 2. I have an Ice power DIY amp. Went with Denafrips due to it being distributed in Singapore and your review.

Welcome to Singapore! Wharfedale is really overrated imo, Elac and Kef are overpriced here while Triangle is very reasonably priced, BR03's are about the same price as a Debut B6.2 here, they wont disappoint you, have fun! But i think getting the denafrips stack would be overkill, that combo is 3x the price of the BR03.. You could try second hand electronics on Carousell first, it's singapore's craigslist and very very active and everybody is relatively nearby.

@@nox1cous654 In my office system I am using some older PSB bookshelf speakers that I am going to replace soon. My plan is to eventually use the BR03's in the smaller system and purchase some better speakers for my main system. So I will use the Triangles until I decide on the speakers I want to get for my main system. Hoping that something I want comes up on the used market.

I listened to these at a local store yesterday, and when I played death metal like Morbid Angel (song Immortal Rites), the treble took over and it was extremely tough to listen to. They played it on a Arcam amp (SA20 I believe), and it was very sharp. Other recordings, like Dido, Eagles, Dream Theater sounded quite good for the price. But for some reason, death metal did not work at all. And I have never heard thought of Morbid Angel as so sharp on treble. It doesn't appear on any other speakers that I own or have owned in the past. This was a bummer for me as the price was insanely good.

Some progress has been made. I went back to the store and listened to the 02's and they sounded nothing like my previous experience. So I got a "Try & buy" deal and bought the 03's after spending way too much time at the store. I have had the speakers at home for a week now and I'm not returning them. They're lovely!

I had a brief audition with these speakers a few months ago. I remember at the time that they lacked airiness in the highs, an attribute that I was looking for. I wound up going with KEF R3s when it was said and done, which are just a great all around speaker I would recommend to anyone who isn't totally certain about where to start with HiFi speakers.

    • @ZeroFidelity
      @ZeroFidelity  4 года назад +2

If I had to chose between those options, I'd go with two T5i's most of the time. However... the best fit for you will hinge on a few variables. For example: If you're in a small room and/or you are mostly concerned with quick, tuneful bass, then two T5i's will deliver the better a great bang for the buck. If however, you want speed with some visceral output, then go with the t7i with the plan of buying a second later down the road. Have fun!

    Hello 👋 Sean
Splendid demo and info of the Triangle Bros 3,
I know you mentioned not having them to close to the wall but I’m considering them to replace my four Mission surround speakers 🔊 using the Triangle Bros 3 wall mounted with fully flexible wall brackets
Because I would like something with a bit more oomph! For the surround’s.
    What’s your thoughts 💭
Or has anybody else tried this 🤔

It seemed much worse than my logitech g560 subwoofer and that is a really low quality sub. Is there something im missing with these or do i need a subwoofer with the triangles?

8:10 - Agreed. I have the ELAC DBR62 and BR03 here, and the DBR62 can come across as boring sometimes. It is detailed and has nice punchy bass, but it can be boring. The BR03 have a little less bass, but frankly has better soundstaging, and is more lively.

    Hi, I
I like your video's and subscribed to your channel last evening.
I'm new to this again after being away for some years. Do I still need an amp and pre-amp with these speakers? I will only be using Tidal or Pandora streaming through my I-phone.
I love the sound of tube amps Mono or stereo but not sure if solid state is the way to go. Sound wise and price wise. I listen to smooth jazz anc light classical. Can you please recommend an amp or pre-amp if needed to go with these speakers?
At this point I don't want to go crazy with prices being what they are.
    Thank you in advance,
    Howard
