  • Hey spouses! Grab a drink and a snack because today we're listening in on a child's opinion of deployment! While Sean was deployed Mia was 5-6 and she was such a trooper! you would of never known one of her parents was overseas in Afghanistan. So we wanted to share why and how we accomplished this. Thank you guys for all your support and I hope you enjoy this video! Watch till the end to see where Mia gets her goofy-ness from LOL! (Sean, its all Sean..I'm the boring one 😂 )

Such a good video especially since I have two little boys who’s father in in the military as an infantry man, and currently in transition to the special forces. I always wondered what will go through their minds as they get older.💙

I went on development when my daughter was a year and a half, leaving her and my then husband was so much worse than I imagined.

As a mom of 2 little ones enlisting and leaving the kids with their dad is my only fear. I know I can do basic training but idk if he can parent 2 little kids without me. My fear is for the kids.

When your husband deployed for SF did you do a lot of things with the spouses of his teammates? I’ve heard that once you’re on a team the families are very close knit. Was this true for you? And how did that dynamic look like when your spouses were deployed?

They definitely can be pretty close. It depends on what your lives are like at home. Some are busier than others or not as social so you may not see each other much. I believe it all comes down to the frg leader whiting the group. She will host get togethers and from there you guys can meet and bond. I don’t keep in touch with the wives anymore after all the guys went their own ways, but it all depends. However if you want to be more close to them you can always step up and host get togethers. Never be afraid of being the one hosting. During deployment, it was so helpful to have them there so we can chat and see if anyone has more info than others. It made me feel at ease.

Awesome, you did it right! I’m sure a lot of kids didn’t get that privilege. Luckily my daughter was only a year old when I left. Shes 5 now and we have a beautiful super duper awesome bond 😊

Thanks for yet another great video!! Question for you: my boyfriend of 6 years is planning on enlisting- is it better to get married now, or after all of his training? We’re trying to schedule and plan things before he enlists.
Also, how did you deal with the fear of death/injury? That is my biggest concern and he hasn’t even left for training yet.

It really depends on how long you want to wait which will depend on how much training he will need. My advice would be get married beforehand. Just my opinion. 😊 that way we don’t have to juggle planning the wedding around a bunch of field rotations etc…

You both have a beautiful daughter, Sean and Pamela, mine was born after my 10 years was up, but unfortunately not for 9-1-1, lost my daughter afterwards, she no longer wants me in her life ever! So I have no idea what her mom told her? I wasn't even the same either! So I'm glad that your both taking a different approach with your kids, I didn't
