Brendan Fraser may be the comeback I've been waiting for, but Ke Huy Quan is the comeback I didn't know that I wanted. Congratulations to both actors on winning their Oscars.
❤
This brought me to tears. I am so thrilled for him! ❤
He broke the speed record for becoming one of my all time favorite actors (and people) in one role... and his interviews since. Such an amazing person.
His comeback story is amazing and Ke is very talented and resilient but please don't forget that he got a massive support system: his wife, his family, his friends (Goonies brother for example)... So please be kind to people around you and they will support you wholeheartedly especially in difficult times.
@Tran Thai Binh Ideally, You like to think so. But human nature is not always that way either.
One of the best acceptance speeches. From the heart.
Wow I thought this was an interview after the Oscars. This interview truly shows he really is that grateful & nice! Congratulations to Ke Huy & wonderful interview, Kelley!!
He continues to be so humble, real, and positive. Image for mid age and not being financially stable…. And his wife stay by him all his life, truly from poor to rich. Just a wonder human being and give this world and people hope in life ❤
This interview was before the Academy Awards ceremony, but after he won a Golden Globe Award, Independent Spirit Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards (one shared), and numerous wins at 54 local critics association awards.
This. This is what the oscars is about, all the power to you Ke Huy Quan. It makes me full of joy to see him so happy!
Impossible not to love this man!
He can be a voice actor too. I love listening to him. :)
I really hope he wins. Goonies and temple of Doom are one of my favorite movies
He did win!
@@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj I'm happy for him.

Love this guy. He needs to have a comedy show on TV. Such a smiley, friendly positive guy. Congrats on his Oscar! Beautiful dress Lindsey!
I don't watch ABC news or interviews that often, but the interviewer is amazing! So genuine and heartfelt and receptive of Ke's answers. And of course Ke is an absolute gem. He is more than deserving of this Oscar. As an asian american I am just so so proud of him
I still remember him starring (,and being credited as Jonathan Ke Quan,) in the final two seasons of the 1986 - 1991 ABC TV sitcom, "Head of the Class."
"Head of the Class." damn I watched that this Morning
I loved Head of the class!!
I’m so happy for him!! Oscar winner! He was awesome in Everything Everywhere All At Once! Well deserved!!
Ke is one of those people who I just want to see succeed. I absolutely loved him in Temple of Doom and the Goonies and was so excited to see him come back after so long. I love how he just always seems so humble and grateful and that he remained friends with Jeff Cohen
Cannot believe it! I remember watching his Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when I was a child, I never thought that I would see him win an Oscar for supporting actor 40 years later!

every morning, I search for content on this guy to get my serotonin boost. ;)
Growing up watching him in movies and TV (Head of the Class). Like he said, limited Asians in movies and TV, and not much an Asian immigrant can relate to growing up in the States.I remember googling him up several years ago, that he went to prestigious USC and saw him doing stunt work for Marvel movies and other projects in Hong Kong, did t know he was in tough situation with no roles and totally out of work…. And seeing him come back like this…. And still being so humble. Amazing !
Wasnt he in Encino Man with Brendan Frasier aswell?? He was the tech nerdy guy?
Yep! And they both won an Oscar the same day! Both are wonderful people!
He played the President of the Computer Club at Encino High 😂
well deserved win for Ke Huy Quan. This was long overdue!
the purest guy I have ever seen in showbiz he is a treasure
CONGRATS !!
FOR YOUR WIN!! and the movies that You were in
" GOONIES FOREVER!!!!"
I wondered where you've been after all theses years gone by
He deserves it 👏 I like watching him when he was younger
I fucking love him and aspire to be kind and humble like him
Over the Moon happy for Ke!!! So happy he won it all this year after so many years of disappointment and self doubt! May all his happiest highest acting dreams come true going forward!! 👏🤩🌟
Oh my gosh! I would have NEVER recognized Lindsey Davis! She looks AMAZING! She looks like a Cinderella in gold! -
I think what the Academy did in re-thinking to consider true "Representation," to look outside the box to upon finally being inclusive to award all actors amidst the "Pool of "Diversity" in the film industry, is a huge shift. - Seeing Ke Huy's exuberance is a MUCH NEEDED breath of fresh air for the air waves as well as humbling mind set that this country needs to see, feel and embrace.
Pure AWESOME. What an amazing soul. I am BEYOND happy for him. Well deserved.
Been along time winning but he's done it from the bottom to the top . Congratulations to you
How can you not be happy for him?! Exciting!! 😊
I am so so happy for you Ke Huy. Love to hear from your story, I wish you good luck in your career
I feel like crying. I’m so happy to see him back! ❤
Congrats n Love You Ke !!!
thanks for everyone who contributed to this change!
That's Oscar Winner Ke Huy Quan!
I genuinely like Ke Huy Quan. I sincerely believe he's the type of person I'd like to be good friends with.
What a lovable human
wow, he is still exactly the same person he was 35-40 years ago XD
I love this guy, he is so deserving
Is that a googly eye lapel pin? amazing!
He is adorable so happy for him so happy 🥹
AMAZING!! AND HE WAS REALLY GOOD TOO
And he won!!! ❤️❤️❤️
He looks a bit like Jackie Chan's younger bro
When he won the oscar my mom thought it was jackie chan lol 😂
Unfortunately, that confirms the lack of representation 🫤
At a glance, he resembles until he starts to speak. Jackie Chan uses a stunt double for English speaking.
Naw. He doesn't have Chan's big nose.
BOOBY TRAPS!!! I love this guy so well deserved
Ke is right. The 80s and 90s were awesome times to be a kid, but the perception of Asians and Indians in America and the west was very different from today. If people think there are not many entertainment options for Asians and Indians today, back in the 80s, 90s, even 2000s....it was a near dead end.
So moving😊
Ke did work behind the scenes, but that is not compared to performing on-screen.
Congratulations!!
I love this guy, his energy is so infectious!
I love her dress💛
So WELL DESERVED! 😍
He won! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
So touching
Very beautiful
I didn't know he was the same kid in Indiana Jones and Goonies
He still sounds the same lol
I like how this interviewer handled the stepping away question. Some other interviewers are SO dumb... they ask... well why did you choose to step away from acting when you landed two big roles???
My favorite child actor!!!!!! Oki doki Dr. JONES! Hang on to your potatoes!!
I loved him in Goonies 😄
Yeah his character Data is one of the best in that film
I really hope they make a Goonies sequel --- would be cool to see Ke, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, and Corey Feldman returning!
@@kerzytibok3211 Goonies never say die!!
Taking a break in Hollywood is no call backs.
He still sounds like Short Round
I’m sorry, but all I see it Data from Goonies! Goonies never say die!
I remember the goonies.
" GOONIES FOREVER!!"
Pretty much any kid who was a teen in the 80's remembers the Goonies
@@kerzytibok3211 😄😄
Damn I was old -But still my favorite movie
There are many actors like him struggling
reality...
Great
Finally, Ke Huy Quan can retire Jackie Chan. He's younger, fresher and an Oscar winning actor. Jackie Chan, do you agree?
He didn't "take a break"
Wait isn’t he in Loki as well???
He's in six episodes of season 2 of _Loki_ . He will also be in the series _American Born Chinese_ .

Trash films these days I miss the 70s and 80s
Big facts!💯
Go back to bed, old man
40 -50 years from now, I wonder what some will say about films today?
He reemerged just in time for the 'placate the Chinese global audience' awards that used be the Oscars. Good timing!
Go cry elsewhere
(Just want to point out that Ke Huy Quan is Vietnamese, not Chinese, although ethnically he is of Han Chinese background!)
Also I would be curious to know what you mean about “placating the Chinese global audience.” I personally felt that the movie was very much centered around American themes - the experience of immigration, e.g. struggling with being at the interstice between your parents in “the old country” and your children who are growing up somewhere new, trying to make a living and find your happiness in this new place you chose to come to, thinking of all you left behind, and eventually coming to realize that you don’t have to be perfect and able to everything to be happy: all you need is your family, the people you love! That feels very American to me. Same too with the satirical/adversarial portrayal of government bureaucrats in their relationship with the working class, the general confrontation of chaotic nihilism, and one of the main characters being LGBT - I don’t think would fly in the PRC.
Would be interested to hear your thoughts!
They want an asian that fits the stereotype rather than someone like John Cho or Chow Yun Fat that has a cool factor and so they can check off the race box and say they aren't racist. I don't think the actors these days getting recognition really represent all asians.
@@abc123fhdi The characters on _Everything Everything All at Once_ are not one-dimensional stereotypes. They are three-dimensional characters.
Why did the interviewer make this racist and try to put him in a box? Immediately turned his achievement into an participation award.
It's NOT RACIST. To ask, bring up that Asian acting parts were n are still very RARE. It's a Pertinent inquiry.
Because despite your sensitive feelings...it was a stumbling block for him. How many major male Asian roles do you think they had back 20 yrs ago? It's reality. And you degrading his lived experience doesn't make it any less true.
@@toasted_.coconut They had Chow Yun Fat in Bullet Proof Monk in the 90's and John Cho in several movies in the past and recently, like Star Trek movies and Harold and Kumar movies but they will never win an Oscar because they don't fit the Hollywood Asian Stereotype like all the asian actors winning oscars do.
After off these years, accent got worse??
Umm what? He talks the same as he did in Temple of Doom.
What a weird comment to make
Race baiting
Thought Jackie Chan was older
