CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Cole (Tom Cruise) experiences his first major crash while trying to pass Rowdy Burns (Michael Rooker).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The Top Gun team of producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott, and superstar Tom Cruise reunite for this excursion into stock-car racing that incorporates the vroom and rumble of deafening car engines with a rehash of the same elements that worked so effectively in Cruise's Top Gun, The Color of Money, and Cocktail. Cruise plays stock-car driver Cole Trickle, a young fireball on the Southern stock-car circuit who has loads of talent but no conception of how to channel that talent in to racing success. When Tim Daland (Randy Quaid) commissions veteran stock-car racer Harry Hogge (Robert Duvall) to built a car and hires Cole to drive it, Harry must instill in Cole his philosophy of winning and teach him how to channel his raw talent into success -- or, as Harry puts it, "controlling something that's out of control." Cole immediately comes into conflict with the circuit's star driver, Rowdy Burns (Michael Rooker), and their hijinks on the track causes them to smash up their cars and lands them both in the hospital. Because of his injuries, Rowdy is forced to withdraw from the circuit competition. With no rival to torment, Rowdy becomes Cole's supporter and friend, while Cole revs up his motors for Dr. Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman), the attractive brain specialist who supervises Cole's recovery from the crackup. Cole's health is restored, and he begins to race again, chastened and hanging onto Harry's every word. Cole appears to have centered himself for success, but in an orgasmic grand finale, Cole must compete against Russ Wheeler (Cary Elwes), a dastardly driver who not only wants to see Cole defeated but permanently disabled.

2:02 - " Yep. I'm flying through the air. This is not good. "
- Ricky Bobby
I love how Coles car is so much faster than everybody elses, except when he gets right behind first place, then it slows right down.
That’s honestly how it is a lot
Leader has clean air. 2nd place can have better car then Leader but Leader has more advantage with clean air. No turbulence messing with aerodynamics
@@AlexB-ts8oo Yeah but it would be a lot faster on the straights, plus dirty air isn’t that dramatic in nascar oval circuits as it is an other motorsports
@@Pugrug. You'd be surprised. The new aero packages have changed everything up. Now on some tracks when the 2nd place guy drafts the leader, he actually starts to push the leader further away at times. Everything will change next year with next gen car.
@@Pugrug. you'd be surprised how much aero affects stock cars in nascar.
When rowdy spins him and cole keeps the engine after the spin he grabs the gear back on the track ! that just gives me goosebumps everytime !!!!!
I love Harry's reaction when Cole gets control and right back into it, makes me tear up a bit...Cole proved he could drive
80 and 90 had the best movies
"And we have a caution" - Larry McRenoylds
Lol!
Brad kesahlowski, won this race.
@Tristan Ellis Gaming "And the 99 has turned over Brad Keselowski"
One of best Cruise's Movies!
Better than Jerry Maguire and Born on the 4th July st and Rain Man,
LOL
The Mummy... hahahaha 🤦🏻♂️
@@johnhines1336
I liked RainMan
@@KmT81 it's called sarcasm and top gun you could see the sexual tension between Tom Cruise and himself in that movie
Its insane that they used to let them drive through the crashes like that back in the day.
A shame they don't still do that, men were men back then, with the risk of death that was part of the appeal.
+Watch Ryder, they are the same though!
@@LandersWorkshop idiot.

@@GH32143 No. The racing isn't the same. Sad to say, he's right. That was part of the excitement.

YES OF COURSE
2:02 i love this scene for some reason
@@LIAG7 dude its just a movie
I still got this movie sitting in my Dvd rack, before that i had it on VHS tape and must have watched it more than 50 times.
0:51-0:56 Me throughout the entirety of every F-Zero race
Man that series needs to come back, with even more free-for-all madness
That is Dale Earnhardt Sr coming off Turn 4 at 1:37
Yep its that Black GM Goodwrench #3 BABY
Yeah, before the tire blows and Cope wins in 1990.
I had to pause it but you are absolutely right that is the Intimidator
And Derrike Cope and Terry Labonte And Bill Elliot
Edit:My bad but actually that was Terry Labonte in the 1 not Rick Mast, Rick Mast didnt drive the 1 till Terry went over to Rick Hendrick
You can see Dale in several scenes in this film if you know what to look for. So great to see him! #3 Do it for Dale!
This is a good movie and a good song
One of my favorite movies of ALL TIME folks.
I just noticed this, at 2:01 if you look closely, Cole Trickle is wearing the Mello Yello helmet instead of the Superflo helmet.
0:43 what a beautiful off throttle noise!
Ya can tell this came straight from Hollywood:
Spin out the car and not flat-spot the tires and still retain second place;
Crew chief also playing spotter on a 2 1/2 mile superspeedway;
The Big One blocking the entire track instead of sliding down to the apron.
Yea I agree with you except for the spin there could have been oil
No, he meant the spin, and then recover second place within those laps.
He lost several positions and it took him several laps to get back to second place.
its not Hollywood, this is how real man drives
@@Iron1Mike23 do you even watch motorsport?
The stunt drivers were Bobby Hamilton in the 51 and Greg Sacks in the 46. Sacks was already a nascar driver and hamilton used this movie as his break into nascar winston cup racing.
That crash looks deadly
"if you're not first, you're last!!!"
Wrong movie pal!
@@GoodOlRoll great comment but

We're eating Ice Cream ........ Ice Cream!
cole trickle has made it fast made it fast cars 3 nascar 2017
Sauerkraut flavour or mit zenph?
That scene was based on real life. During one race the real Harry Hogg and crew were eating ice cream.
0:54 - 1:03 That was One Hell of a Save.
1:19 why is wheeler in the race where cole had the Crash?
It is a good movie
1:40, that clip is from the 1990 goody's 300 big one
God those cars were beautiful......I'd do bad things for that 51 Exxon car..
Yeah the early 90s cars looked awesome
I have a die cast of it. It is I’m rough shape because it is really old and I played with it at like 3 years old.
A simple yet elegant vehicle, for a more civilized age.
I wish I could have a stock car lumina so bad. Them things are a work of art.
The 51 car is really the number 3 car dales car
Best parta the movie!!.. Badass recovery and done by the ONE n ONLY TOM CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!
my friend had this racetrack when we were kids. we played it constantly and it was beyond fun
1:16 that’s Kyle Busch’s 2019 Darlington throwback
"Stop playing peek-a-boo" I almost died when I heard it
I'm dropping the Hammer...
NO YOUR NOT!!!
if nascar could get back to this kind of racing the tv ratings would go through the roof!
rick hendrick great job in building these cars for this movie.
wonder if tim dalan put superflo motor oil in his dealership and filled the new cars up with exxon gasoline.
And call out wallas about the noose
@@robbiefrentz9427 the noose that he didnt put there?
@@robbiefrentz9427 You mean wallace? Don't even know how to spell his name. Not saying I'm a fan, I was. You can't finish in 5th place off a fuel strategy after averaging 20th or above and say on live TV all cocky to get the pens out to sign some extensions. Wasn't even him that saw it. The dude that saw it and everyone else automatically jumped to conclusions. It was the rope to open the garage, was pretty obvious what it was there for in that spot. But if you're going to talk trash at least know what the hell you are talking about.
check out Rowdy's car in the 1:37 is in reallity the car of Dale "The Intimidator " Earnhardt and cole's car is in reality the car of derrike cope

What a great film 👍🏼
Cool movie ! Back in the early 90's
"Days of Thunder" brings back so many memories of thrilling racing movies from that era! It's always impressive to see how filmmakers can capture such intense and dramatic moments like a crash scene in a way that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The 1990s really had a unique flair for action-packed sequences, didn't they? It's like every scene was crafted to be as heart-pounding and adrenaline-filled as possible. Racing scenes, in particular, have this amazing ability to convey both the thrill and the danger of the sport. What a dynamic and exciting genre! 🏎💥🎬
One of the best Movies about NASCAR Racing. It shows the Truth what can happend. The Risk when you're riding on the Bullet.
Sees smoke, ACCELERATES
Back when Nascar wasn't boring.
1:33
That Smile From Cole Is Legendary. 💯
For newer nascar fans, back then drivers would "race back" to the yellow flag. There was no "field is frozen" on yellow back then. This is why they didn't slow approaching the wreck. Still dangerous af...
they didnt like it even back in the 80s, alot of people were trying to get NASCAR to stop that
1:20 whys Russ wheeler in the race
Major editing Goof 😁
He's supposed too be there. He's a racer but later in the movie he covers for Cole
X24RIDER plenty of them in this film but who cares?
I think that might be Someone else
Tanner Hart Tacker's 66
i love this movie
There should be a camera shot like the first few seconds in all racing, it give a great perspective of speed!
Greatest Nascar film ever
This movie brings back lots of good memories of what Nascar once was.... that sweet smell of leaded racing fuel lol... not the crap ethanol that they use now.
Bruh he floored it through the crash
AGGRESSIVE GOES AROUND!
Russ Wheeler already racing in the Hardees?? 1:19
Go high, Cole. Just go high.
I remember this on VHS.
📼 I Still Have It. And I Always Will.... ❤💯
I typed in "rubbins racing" and this video came up
When he spins in one shot he is spinning counter clockwise and then in the next shot he is spinning clockwise
Safety back then wasn't as good as it is now.
Safety is too much nowadays.
the best soundtrack, the best movie
Tom cruise dans ce film c est le tonnerre de sa vie very very very good always aujourd hui 🏆🏆🏆🏆
That was ghetto manover from rowdy with a cheeky smile 😂
I have no idea what's going on because there are hardly any wide angle shots :P
1:57 that was a bad idea not taking your foot off the gas pedal.
Fun fact: the crash scene was filmed on a airplane runway because they used explosive charges to make his car flip and they didn't wanna damage the actual Daytona backstretch
Especially in the shot at 1:32
1:37 rowdy burns is now Dale Earnhardt
This movie is sooo ridiculous but i LOVE IT XD
01:58 I am awaited in Valhalla!!!
1:19 did you see russ wheeler's hardee's car?
That could be someone else
My favorite movie
*If you're not first, you're last!* - Resse Bobby
1:20 - Check it out... Russ Wheeler's in the race????
That’s from when nascar could still fill the stands.
One of the best race car and Tom Cruise films of all time. And I've never liked NASCAR 🤷👍
te quedo bien pero aún no fallare el destino
when the grandstands were PACKED!
Its on the special edition blu ray features. Wiki says Hamilton was the 51.
Great movie but this clip is a sad reminder that racing is dangerous... still a tough scene to sit through knowing what happened to Adam Petty and Dale
I just don't understand how this "NASCAR" movie didn't show the TRUE importance of Spotters.
sonic29210
rick hendrick is the owner of hendrick motorsports who built the cars for the movie.
"We got a big mess in Turn 4."
Back when people and nascar thought luminas were badass
That was so realistic, only thing missing was Danica winning and Kyle Busch not complaining.
LOL TRUE
Cole Trickles magic power is to move through the entire field in less than one lap.
Awesome video
1:58 lightning McQueens engine
nope, its a nascar v6.
Top Gun with Cars!
This is basically the trailer for CARS 3
Was at Rick Hendricks Chevy dealership and Tom Cruise actually had like the 2nd or 3rd fastest lap ever back then at Daytona
What you so worried about Harry?
Spun and drove straight back up into the pack, iceman was right, he is dangerous
Underrated ;-)
now why in the world is rick hendrick switching back to valvoline motor oil in 2014 after being with quaker state for seventeen years!
I just realized that Russ Wheelers Hardees car was in this race....oops!
Back when NASCAR was cool
Crash: Forget about the Bug and win the Race
Tripp: You're going down Bug
The end of this clip explains EVERY SINGLE PILE UP on North American Highways.
Hang on Harry, I think I dropped my hammer!!
1:37 I see Bill Elliott
This is like every day on Forza.
No caution I guess
I have to go now I'm eating ice cream,

So this is what Merle Dixon did before the apocalypse.
