Another older snowboarder here who learned exclusively on full camber before things started changing in like 2009-10. It's time to retire my 2010 snowboard and I'm overwhelmed by the changes and evolution of boards since I last even considered shopping, but your videos have been really helpful so far, the consistency and quality of your videos are making this process a lot easier for me, thank you!
Older snowboarder here, grew up on full camber. Sure took a beating catching edges when learning to ride. But even after trying most of these profiles I always find myself going back to the OG Burton Custom.
Watching your professionalism entering your channel and reviews provides a lot of confidence and is great when you mix it up occasionally with your friends. Great info thanks I hope you get to lay a lot of trenches 🤙
Beastie, again... Killer lesson / information --Thanks for the teach Hey, have you do any stance videos lately? Just wondering your take / insights / hints / suggestions on the best (general ballpark) stances for some of the major board types / variants to get the best feel out of your ride. Thanks again / killer content
Thanks! Greatly Appreciated! So I do but it's coming in another vid but it might be a while. Its a whole thing that will be hard to describe here. I would say just start experimenting. 1. Set up your bindings about 1/4" wider than the widest part of your shoulders. Then move in or out from there depending on comfort. 2. Then start playing around with stance angles. The more directional the board try going more posi. I ride boards anywhere from +15/-15 for Twins to all the way up to +36/+12 for super tapered Snowsurfers. Or hit me up here, you can tell me more about your quiver, specs etc and I can give you much more helpful/detailed suggestions. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Thanks! Gotta get up some other actual reviews but want to circle back to this to talk about Sidecuts and a few other things I have on a long ass list.
Do you think if I went from a 161W Rome Agent Pro to a 162W nitro team pro (full camber).. I would notice much of a difference in the ability to really drive a carve?
It would be a little stiffer so that would be better for a carve but overall its more of a lateral move. I would look to something else if you want a harder carving board. Hit me here if you want to get into this in more detail. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
Both are great for learning as long as they are forgiving. There is a lot more to it than just camber so hit me up here if you want in depth advice based on your specs, where you ride and how you want to ride. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
I need help deciding between NS cougar or NS easy rider. 6’0” #175 Size 10.5 All mountain board, mainly groomer, small jumps, little bit of powder, and switch friendly. Thank you.
The Cougar is waaay better for carving and better in pow when set back. The Easy is more playful and better switch so it comes down to personal preference. Hit me here if you want to get into it more. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
I did not like my NS. It felt heavy to me and it had no "pop". You should seriously check out the Bataleon Goliath. I personally think you would really be happy with it considering what you said you are looking for.
@@thegoodridesnow sorry, I should have been more specific. It’s a 2021 152 Protosynthesis, and I weigh 160. I switched to a 153 Goliath. Never Summer just felt like a Cadillac and the Goliath feels like a sports car.
It really only takes 2-3 times before it "clicks". Full camber will ultimately make you a more disciplined rider. If you only ride a few times a year, go ahead and get a hybrid, but I don't recommend it if you want to progress. (It's probably not worth buying your own board if you only go a couple times a year)

Please say what make/model/year/size you ride and your boot size/weight and height so we actually understand your perspective.

Tried to learn with a full camber board would not recommend.
