- Pablo underwent a double jaw surgery in our Center one year ago. In the video, he highlights the importance of being patient to see your results, as he didn't like his face at first, but now he couldn't be happier.

I had sarpe surgery at the same Surgeon 3 months ago. now braces and I hope in 6 to 8 months my jaw surgery. I have similar situation like the young man here. hope to have the same results. The surgeon is TOP!

I had my surgery 5 days ago, I must agree that especially the first days of post-op are very physically and mentally demanding. It's getting better tho, I can pretty much do everything except eat/speak properly. This man's results are wild. I hope to have similar results in the end.

@@WTI00 In this article that I found (www.med.umich.edu/1libr/PedSurgery/PedOralSurgery/OrthognathicSurgery-Peds.pdf) it says that it's 10%, but it also depends on your country I think. Belgium is known to have very capable surgeons. Personally, it just feels numb atm. My doctor says that since I can still feel it, it should recover over time, so i don't think i'll have permanent damage.

@@WTI00 I think some form of bone relapse is inevitable. However, I think it'll be very limited. I need to wear tight elastics now to make sure i don't relapse. I'll probably still relapse a tiny bit, but I think it'll be neglible.
@@justgeniusgeertthings8614 why does it happen though? i thought since new bone forms then there wouldn't be any relapse. also what about the titanium plates? wouldn't they prevent relapse as well

The main thing I noticed is that he now has his mouth open in the side-by-side photos, which isn't good. His lower and upper jaws could've come forward much more as he still has a very thin upper lip and flattened/longer face.

@@besapeposhi2008 there are risks inherent to all surgeries, mainly related to anaesthetics. As for the specific risks to orthognathic surgery, there are risks associated to numbness, but in our 25 years of experience we have never had a patient with serious sequels related to the surgery.

Entiendo que las secciones de la mandíbula inferior se fusionan debido a que comparten superficie debido al corte transversal (amarillo-azul). Pero, ¿y la mandíbula superior con el resto del cráneo? (blanco-verde) Seguramente no quede flotando, ¿Posicionáis algún material ahí? ¿Algún tipo de injerto? ¿Trabajáis con algún tipo de material impreso en 3D que luego el cuerpo transforma en hueso propio, tipo CT-Bone de Xilloc? Vuestro trabajo es impresionante.
Muchas gracias Alberto, en todos los casos las osteotomías se fijan con placas de titanio, que son completamente biocompatibles. En casos donde hay gaps muy grandes, también se rellenan con materiales biocompatibles.

@@general4601 In Germany on jaw upper/lower is 8-10k. If you sum up all costs around the surgery you end with 24 - 30 k. This is from an uniklinik (University + clinic). If you go to private surgeons it goes 30 - 50 k range. In a normal Spanish clinic it will be cheaper as well, but this surgeron here is private and can set his own prices. Capitalism. But as you see, he is doing just this surgery all day long, so you can be sure he got experience.
From the front profile pictures, I can tell that his midface ratio has increased past what I would consider ideal (this is the reason his appearance seems more "adult"). Basically, this is making his face seem elongated. Despite correcting his side profile, he lost too much harmony. Is there no way to avoid this when performing jaw surgery?

When you lengthen the mouth, the volume of skin and lips stays the same, therefore you should do some work on the skin and/or lips, to fully close them
