All you guys bitching because you're starting mewing after 30s and your results will take longer to be seen - imagine being this man, this great man. Imagine taking this long to work it all out, and just when you do, you realise it was as simple as keeping the mouth shut while sleeping. And it's taken you so long, you're now too old to change it, or benefit from the treatment yourself.
Imagine that. This is an amazing man. He has carried the burdens of all of us upon his shoulders, and we must be eternally respectful to him for that.

@@ezcanor8262 yes, I found you have to actively push up on to the palate, almost creating a suction with your tongue to apply gentle pressure to the palate so it expands.

I sucked my thumb past the age of when I shouldn't have...mum tried everything to try to stop me but I still continued with the bad habit until I was 9 years old. Now as an adult my front teeth protrude 10mm, and one of my wisdom teeth was partially impacted. My orthodontist had 6 teeth extracted (4 bicuspids and my 2 wisdoms). I have now found out that my partially impacted wisdom has damaged my 2nd molar, which had to be extracted. I started with 32 teeth and now I have 25. I wanna go back in time and say a few words to my younger self.😡
I feel the same! If I could time travel back I would say: dud, dont extract any teeth and take care of em.. now im fucked withouth all of my first molars.
I call wisdom teeth, teeth in the bank 😆. I have all of mine and thank God I kept them because I've lost/cracked a molar eating a corn nut, so I had the wisdom teeth to fill in that space and chew on. You never know when you're going to need that tooth in the future. Pulling teeth is grotesque and barbaric in that it's the permanent removal of human tissue which is often completely unnecessary.

I had 4 premolars extracted but I'ma use tads and upright my wisdom teeth. I'ma also reopen the gaps from the bottom were they were extracted because I have no k nine guidance.

I’m 15 and doing this , mewing , tongue on the roof on the mouth , chin tuck , correct swallowing , I thought I was doing it correctly the first few weeks but it turns out I was only doing those when I was thinking about it . But now after helping my siblings with these methods for their teeth they remind me and now I really see change only two- almost three months , I am happy that I am now mewing for many many hours a day -all day only when eating /talking and at night my tongue goes on the roof of my mouth it self .I have a routine at night to chew a piece of meat really hard , I eat a lot of seeds , so I chew more .

I broke my jaw and neck in a parachute accident. I have had trigeminal neuralgia and focal dystonia ever since. I always try to stretch my jaw open because there's a tug of war going on between the muscles like the masseter in my face and the ones under my mandible the pull down. I can't put my tongue entirely on the roof of my mouth, and my teeth chatter when I put them together, but after several hours of this, I do feel less pain. Very interesting.

i've been saying for years that many orthodontic treatments look unnatural and unattractive, and I know my weak chin, big nose, and crowded teeth are related to a stuffed up nose as a teen. My family doc didn't believe me at the time. This guy just told me everything I already knew and that apparently there's some treatment for it and prevention for it if I ever have kids.
I have a deviated septum so should I get the surgery or will the biobloc help it.
A big nose can also be genetic....

@@fellipedasilva99 the development of the rest of face plays a big part too. That's why it's generally long maxilla, smaller, retracted mandible and bigger, crooked, hooked nose or shorter, wider maxilla, forward mandible and smaller, more curved nose.
If i have extraction only in my superior maxilla, how does it change my face estructure? Sorry if i have an English mistake
My mouth is very small but my teeth are strait. It's hereditary. That being said I am mewing to help my face look less saggy.

This seems very new to me, i'm currently using different methods of facepulling and orthotrpics and they all depend on natural mechanisms of the tongue, but your method seems kind unnatural and new to me, did you invented this method of facepulling yourself or did you find it somewhere ? also you mentioned Atlasproflas, i have no idea what is that is it an appliance or a natural method ?
Thanks for your reply, this seems like a very good method to try, i also have this problem of not being able to breath properly from my nose, plus i have severe allergy symptoms (runny & blocked nasal passages), this has caused me to not feel energetic and a bit tired all the time, when i sleep i find it very difficult to keep breathing from my nose, i will try out your method of facepulling by thumbs, can you please send me a picture of how i can do that , i don't want to end up doing something wrong, thank you!

I want my face longer. My face is literally 5x5 inches. it is round and short due to my protruded teeth. What this doctor is talking about should only be targeted towards people with mild teeth protrusion and have an already medium to long face.

I have an 11mm overjet and a really deep overbite. My orthodontist said he will remove 2 upper teeth, the ones behind my canine, and then give me a twin block which will only get rid of the overbite not overjet because I've stopped growing. And im still going to be left with a 5mm overjet. I'm just worried that dragging my teeth backwards instead of moving my lower jaw forward is going to mess up my face. I'm terrified about getting surgery and I also can't afford it if it's not on the nhs

If your teeth are giving you problems that are affecting your well being on a daily basis, not confidence and look wise, it was the right choice, i have very crooked teeth, both my canines are high up and my other teeth are not straight, but my teeth fit perfectly together, and good bit.So while i hate my teeth id rather not have anything done to my jaws and teeth.

Never let anyone take out perfectly good teeth! Try to keep all your teeth. Taking some out will result in health issues about 20-30 years down the road.

BellicaTV You don't need any apliance. Just keep your lips closed aka mouth shut and your tongue should be resting on the roof of the mouth. It'll take some time to get used to but it will be worth it after a long duration of consistency in the above mentioned approach.
What can be done to make the upper maxila face area match up better since it dropped? Also, this posture idea can't be the primary cause. There is no way posture alone did this. I suspect it was from switching from meat in the ice age to agriculture when the ice age ended. We didn't evolve to eat plants.

And what kind of orthodontic treatment lenghtens the face? I began to wear a retainer at almost 19 years of age, and orthodontist turned the screw every 2 weeks ... after 1 month both wisdom teeth began to appear and my upper jaw moved forward. I have a feeling that my face lenghtened because of that but now I wonder ... A year later I began to wear it on bottom teeth and it was the same story ... my mandibular angle became more expressed (I think that ramus elongated, too).

The damage comes with tooth extraction, if it's minor teeth straightening you might be okay. If it's major it will flatten your face, your jaw will get pushed back a bit and your face will get longer.

@@mayonesasierraleonesa it depends on the teeth, when they extract a tooth, that tooth holds your jaw out farther, so when you remove it and then get braces it will pull your jaw back.
I have a long narrow face so i started mewing 2 weeks ago hoping i get shorter face with wider jawline but my face got longer and slimmer I’m depressed i need help 😭 i watched many videos on how to mew properly but i’m still doing it wrong obviously
You’re face can’t lengthen in a couple weeks. Try your best and don’t stress it.
If you're struggling with mewing, try correcting your swallow first, watch videos on the orthotropics channel. Your tongue will on it's own stay up, I have been mewing for more than two years now.
Yes my face got a bit wider, and I have higher cheekbones than I did in the past. My face looks like more balanced now, and more attractive.

I'm not too sure why but I only have 28 teeth. I'm 25 years old. I've never had teeth problems. I've never had any teeth extracted in my life. I have never had a wisdom tooth come through. I might be one of the few people on this planet who weren't born with wisdoms.
They could just be impacted (never sprouted). You'll need to get xrays done to find out.

@@monjier I have the same thing, i thought i got no bottom wisdom teeth but actually they are fully grown under the gum and never came into the surface lol, go get your x ray :D
They don't form when your jaw doesn't have room for them, it's not rare, if your jaw formed more as a child they would have formed.

Get a golden ratio mask off google and match it to your face. That's the ideal standard. Not longer or shorter than that.

the wires are very weak and are much easier to bend than a bone, but even if the dental arch wont expand during braces your face will most likely still move up and change. That's what I think

I find the tongue up on the roof of my mouth fairly easy and comfortable, so far. What I am not clear about is whether my molars should be in contact when tongue in correct position. I seem to have read/heard conflicting advice on this one. Anybody able to help me out here please?
i think they best advice is whatever is most natural/comfortable for you. Id suggest have them touching gently, no clenching or tension. When my tounge is in the correct position my molars touch almost automaticaly
wweelo Yes, I discovered by sliding a finger in the side of my mouth when tongue on roof, that my teeth are not only lightly touching but upper set seem to hang over the lower set slightly. At any rate, they're not far apart.

Read somewhere that longer faces are associated with height and better leadership qualities. So, I don't agree with his premise that longer faces are categorically less attractive. One can have both, a forward grown maxilla and a nice jawline as well as a longer face. That, I think, is ideal and it does not undermine mewing.
You read some pop psychology and automatically assume that because something tends to happen a certain, it should happen that way? So more physically imposing people, violent and powerful people tend to become dictators, presidents, warlords etc. People with longer faces are likely bigger and mire imposing people. If you want to lead people simply by using force then take anabolic steroids, growth hormones, become a larger human being. IF you want to become a monster leader, go a head. Pop psychology doesnt scratch the surface of understanding human behaviour, it simply looks at shallow associations. And people that are very large, usually arent that attractive. People that are obsessed with height and being larger than others are usually compensating for something they lack in themselves....

@@AJBlueJay What I think of this topic now after 3 years is that when John Mew talks about long faces, he means recessed faces with weak jawlines. Properly grown faces are 'shorter'.
However, still oval shaped faces are more likely to be voted as leaders than, say, round-shaped faces. Having an oval or round face has kind of nothing to do with how your maxilla has grown. So essentially I was talking about a different topic than John Mew in my first comment.
