SD CARD COMPATIBILITY ISSUE IS REAL!

- If you have a modified console, and you're experiencing the same error as me, don't assume right away that the SD card slot is the problem. It's possible that the issue is being caused by compatibility problems with your SD card.

i see the legend is still uploading! love you man👍
I installed my chip the other day and was surprised that my Samsung sd card was not being detected at all. It worked fine on my old Switch for a couple years. I tried a Verbatim SD after that which I had laying around and it worked fine. Bummer. I have a sandisk on the way.
you are the best saludos desde colombia !!!!
Nice to know!
I'm now scared that my sandisk card won't work. I'm new to switch modchipping and I thought the sd card would behave like it does with an unpatched system.
THANKS
Thanks
That save me from change my sd card slot, thanks
Yeah that happend to me 1 time...with a samsung evo sdcard
mine sd card slot its damaged to be more precise its the rpc conector from the sd card slot
it keeps booting on 1bit mode and i cant even boot emunand
My V1 has this issue I believe, I've tried multiple name brand cards bought in store as well and it's very picky. Card will work but then fail to initialize after a while.
Could be hardware related as well but gave up and have it as an online Switch instead
Could be the combination of the components inside the console. Or maybe you can try to reformat the card and alter the cluster size.
I had already noticed this problem with Samsung and Kingston brands, but now you have confirmed my theory, thank you! Have you ever noticed a problem when you finish installing the chip, it starts normally in the message on the micro SD, when you insert the micro SD it will start the atmosphere system, after turning it off and on again the chip will flash blue and will only start in OFW, have you seen this before?
Probably, your chip needs a firmware update.
❤
Probably better to make sd card a fat32 then. If that the case. Or what do you recommend has best sd card then. That is compatible with the mod chip.
the fat32 and exfat doesn't matter at all. but the build/make of the sdcard brand is affecting the issue
'sup.
Is this only happens when boot the console ? I mean, I've seen some weird behaviour on mine switch but not related to these boot errors that you show. Issue here is sometimes, it slowdown a bit when I try to reboot the console, is a bit tough to explain in words i guess or even to reproduce to be honest but it happens, my SD card brand is 256Gb Kodak V30 bla bla bla.. dunno if this is important but it is with me about for 4 years already.
I had one of these you had there sand disk ultra it sucks really, while I was playing it lags the game a lot LOL then I switch it to the Kodak one and it was pretty faster.
if your console is modded, then you might have the same issue as mine. But different sd cards have different quality too.
@@sthetixofficial I see thanks master.
I haven't run into this issue with Switch but have had issues with USB flash drives in the past, it turned out they were set to GPT rather than MBR. Could that be the issue?
Yes, that could be the issue.
Very interesting. I have encountered failed to init sd card error on larger sd cards. Like 512gb. But it was resolved after setting the cluster size to 64kb or lower. But of course i didnt check the count. Never has it failed afterwards. Seeing your settings, some cards were set at 128kb others at 256kb. Maybe it's a factor? I have read several reddit posts and forums reporting this. Maybe you could try this?
Hey there! How to change cluster size to 64gb?
@leomelfrancisco6036 when you format the sd card on your PC. You have that option. It's right below file system type (fat32, exfat or ntfs). It is named as Allocation unit size.
@@DrCryogenic many thanks bro!
aha!, thank you for remembering me about those cluster size. Yes, that could be the problem.
Is that works by changing the cluster size? I have same issue with my Oled and Samsung 512GB. I mostly have to restart the console up to 20 times to get to the Hekate menu@@leomelfrancisco6036
1:11 why is there shrek next to exFAT?
Because if I remember correctly there are compatibility issues with cfw and exfat but I might not be correct
it is not related to the exfat thing.
Can this issue also occur on the x86 RCM Chip?
I never found the same issue on the rcmx86
Every sd card has a lifespan, right?
it does
Every memory that can be compact, solid state or mechanical drives have a lifespan
Is that problem specific to Instinct-NX?
hwfly too
@@sthetixofficial report picofly same
My switch can't connect with wifi and also joycon. What should I do with it, brother?
Is you console modded?
Flight mode
maybe the network chip is busted.
Ow for the switch... Why not include that in the title?
i need to be very careful when posting this stuff on YT,...the N corp dont like this
@@sthetixofficial understandable.
If I plug in the USB C power cable to my OLED console (no Micro Sd Card inserted) with V6S chip it turns on but goes for a splitsecond to the NO Sd Card Screen and then it tries to boot to the OFW but after couple seconds its back on the NO Sd card Screen for splitsecond. And this goes so on on an endless loop. What if my console runs out of battery ?
You need to update the V6s firmware with 2.0 here : u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZlLjS0ZjQRTMqRsbuS4JLpGQ59E5JoPqW47
hopefully it will fix the issue
@@sthetixofficial Thanks. How do I do this ? Just simply run the PC Usage program and follow the instructions and place the console usage files on the sd card ? Can I use the consoles USB C Port to connect the V6S to the PC ? (I got it soldered exactly like in your video guide, except the KAMIKAZE method)
Just put the firmware.bin to the root of the SD card, then press and hold the volume up button while turning on the console, make sure the led on the modchip is blinking green, run the instinct-nx toolbox, and upgrade the firmware. x.com/sthetixofficial/status/1765534802810163632
@@sthetixofficial I´ve just followed your instructions and succesfully updated the V6S´s firmware but the problem with the endless boot loop still persist. What can I do to fix that ?
@MrCANER06 probably your ofw isn't working
Ah I get the feeling this video has come after a fair bit of annoying debugging hahaha wow unlucky!!
Pak, fake microSD will also cause incompatibility issue.
