- Four teenagers and a 12-year-old allegedly stole an SUV. It ended in a high-speed chase, and the video from May 2021 was just released by Florida Highway Patrol. On the freeway, the SUV changed lanes trying to get away from the pursuing police and lost control, hitting the median, other vehicles, and ultimately flipping over. The five juveniles, who ranged in age from 12 to 16, and a bicyclist they reportedly hit, were taken to a hospital for their injuries.

I would love that news writers stop using "teens" "moms" "dads" to describe people. Instead "14 year old" or "32 year old" " male or female". Jettison the euphemism. Forget suing the Guardians, the USA Social Workers system make it very difficult to raise children these days. About all a parent can only do so much these days is "look at the children funny" if they do something bad, or make them "stand in a corner". Sue the child driver directly.

Something like this happened a number of years ago in Ontario near a town called Sutton. 3 teenagers thought it would be fun to steal one of the parents’ van at 4am. Driving erratically, they were pulled over by Constable Garrett Styles. The van had been driven up onto a small embankment. When Officer Styles approached, the driver gunned it, trying to get away. He ran over Officer Styles and killed him. In the ensuing further collision the driver ended up being a quadruplegic. Finally, a fitting punishment. Officer Styles was married and had a little girl.
😢 And these kids had minor injuries. At least no one else was hurt.

@@cyrene7784 yes. The young driver that hit the gas and killed the officer, I believe the van flipped and he had a spinal cord injury such that he is in a wheelchair for the rest of his life with minimal use of his arms. He was in high school at the time.

It was a woman, she got out at the scene from what I remember and was walking around. This is from a couple months ago and footage from the chopper that was tracking them was all over YT. They kept pulling kids out of that SUV like it was a clown car.

That to me warrants the right for them to be charged as adults. Perhaps the 12 year old not be charged as such because of their age (and depending on their role) but I still think they should be charged as adults. You can’t expect to get away with a slap on the wrist when you almost killed multiple people.

Has to suffer a severe whiplash even with vehicle safety features. This happened on the highway therefore some vehicles (especially the one that hit the driver) was going at highway speed or half that speed.

Wakes me up! I was on my phone earlier on the highway and passed into a lane and almost hit a car. They swerved out of the way and almost crashed. I felt so bad that I could’ve caused a wreck. Never having my phone out while driving again!

This upsets me greatly. That cyclist's life is changed in a very prominent, and permenant way due to the reckless and selfish behaviour of a few kids. And those kids didn't grow up from nowhere, their parents, and their parents have a lot to answer for.

Some of these parents even ride with their kids. A Muslim dude and his dad got into an altercation with a paper boy. They then got into a van to go find him and shoot him. The father's been arrested the son is still on the run last I heard.
What upsets me is that he needs a GoFundMe to help pay his medical bills when he was hit by a vehicle that the POLICE chased into him. His expenses should be covered by the state in full, or at least partly with the main funds coming directly from the parents of these morons. There's a reason so many places have No Chase policies, and it's for this very reason. If the critical thinking abilities of these actual children wasn't put to the test in an extremely stressful situation they might not have ran and caused all this carnage.

I’m 15 and can think for myself and these kids were around my age. They were fully aware of what they were doing and should be charged as adults.
Edit: I agree the 12 yr old shouldn’t bc they’re much more easily persuaded especially by older kids to do dumb things

My driving teacher made sure to tell his students we would have to navigate around other idiots on the road especailly on Friday, Saturday nights and to not leave anywhere without having your car keys ready to go! He was great.

You never know how many police can turn a dangerous situation worst. One speeding carelessly into a while unit in the name of safety.
The crash itself doesn't seem to bad at first, even if the suspects flipped over. Its the impact at 0:02 that sends chills because I could imagine they thought they avoided the initial stuff and got out of the way then get slammed on the driver side at 60 MPH.
That car that was pushed into the outside hov lane was hit hard hard. Hope everyone is okay
Much worse was the car that crossed the lanes into oncoming traffic. The driver side was hit hard.

Joe Kelsoe II pretty sure all of his medical bills will be covered. You never pay bills like this if you're involved in an accident that's not your fault. Was probably just up front bills that will be covered
I feel bad for all the innocent people who were hit or injured by the teen’s crazy GTA fantasies. Hopefully everyone recovers and these teens face proper justice.

Yes 👍 by me a few days ago teenagers were going over 100 mph in a residential area lost control and hit a tree. Car split in two killing 4 passengers.
They were hit cause florida up, didn't control the high way .. they could have shut down the freeway like they do for most .
Accidents can happen in seconds, even to the safest drivers 😢😢

Since the parents won't discipline their kids...sue them for the damages and medical bills. Liability doesn't just disappear cuz a minor stole a car...the parents need to break out their wallets
