Excellent video and clear instructions. My Zafira failed its Controle Technique today (I'm in France) on "rotules de direction". Now I know what the heck they are and how to fix them. Thank you.
Good stuff. Couldn't figure why the track rod end itself wouldnt separate from the rod - until I watched the vid and realised I was being stupid :( Very helpful - thanks,
Hi Great video! Do you have a guide like this to change the inner track rod on an Astra MK4 (Z16XE, 1.6 16V, 2003 estate) or similar. Thank you very much.
If the ball joint is super stuck, I've tried the splitter i've tried heat and hitting it something chronic, can you suggest anything else? It appears to be tapered and is stuck fast.
+William Belcher Mine was too, and i only fitted it 15 months ago! I tried smacking a splitter tool in for leverage, i tried hitting it up from underneath, but in the end i just took one really angry swing at the hub arm bit with the lump hammer and it bounced out on its own! So the video makers tip does work, just SMACK IT HARDER!
Absolute legend for this , i thought the nut was attached to the rod end haha 😂

I should add that it is a 21mm (not 22mm) locknut on my 2002 Zafira 1.6
Extremely simple but informative video. I had no idea how easy that job was. Thanks and I'll be checking out your other videos.
