- Chemi Pure Blue will definitely increase your waters clarity, especially if you have real wood leaching tannins into your tank.
With that being said remember, It's not necessary, just a preference. #shorts

How long does the Chemipure last?
Thanks bro I was having the same problem when I added driftwood keep up the good work!
Ey yo Kevin what type of fish is the super blue one i saw in there please let me know if its not much to ask
Sorry the one on the american cichlid tank
I use Indian almond and it creates a beautiful blackwater for my betta and his shrimp and kuhli loach mates.
Let’s Go! Love it!!! Thank you for your service. My son joined the Marines about 7yrs ago at Camp Pendleton in San Diego. It makes my job at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant that more important to me. I just started my African Cichlids tank 8/9/21. I had a tank growing up as a kid (cichlids and an Oscar). I’m 50yrs young now and forgot the work it takes caring for this beautiful breed lol… but I love it! Love your content. It’s spot on from what I remember and a whole lot I didn’t know. I’ve cycled my tank which we never did when I was a kid and our fish were fine and water clear. Following steps/science in today’s world I’m having trouble keeping water clear 🤦🏾♂️. So I’ll start with cutting my feeding in 1/2 (1/2!!!) 😆 thank for your channel it’s been a major help
Yup, half usually works well!! 🤣 Glad to hear the hobby has re-called you!! Welcome back! If you still need help getting that water crystal clear I highly recommend my ebook! It's only 10 bucks but well worth it! -bit.ly/clearH2O
Been using it for roughly 2 weeks now and has made a world of difference I can see clear through the tank standing long ways and has helped with the smell also
Excellent! Glad I could help. 😊

Thank you sir! 😊
I need this now
Dude, why are you so cool. Thank you for all your effort and time. Especially, your time. I love you bro and thank you. No homo.
Lol, thanks bro! Glad you’re enjoying the channel 😊💪
😂😂😂
Really so nice... It's so useful
Thanks a lot 😊
You,want tannings in the water with South and Central American cichlids. It’s the buffer that keeps the ph to the soft side. Discus (hardest cichlids to keep correctly) come from Amazon tributary’s that are almost black with tannings, that’s why their colors are so vivid
Discus arent that hard at all. Many keep them in crystal-clear water successfully. And many keep them in much harder water than traditionally thought. Breeding and all.
Chemipure Blue works too good lol
I run it on my reef and zeros across the board, so now I take it out for a day once a week to give the corals something to eat
Maybe I should add some to my rift tanks
Great short vid - love the quick ones! I just ordered myself some Purigen from an earlier recommendation from your good self. Do I need this too? Is it ok to use chemical media long term?
Absolutely, you can use it continuously but it can get costly. I try to keep both chemi pure blue and Purigen in my tank at all times. Definitely helps with an overstocked tank and its clarity.
Very effective video 👍
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
Yes Sir it works :) Good Pop up Video

Can I add chemi pure blue to my filter that already has carbon or should I ditch the carbon and only run chemi?
I love black water! But not the stuff floating around. For this purpose I found a good fine pad that catches it all without clogging up too quickly (holds about a month before the flow decreases visibly)! Filters make miracles 💪💪
Yup, that’ll keep the water clear but also leave the tannins in 👍
Starting my chemi pure today and putting it in my canister after cleaning Sunday funday!!!! lol
Great job buddy
Thanks 👍
Thank u
😊
I bought an FX4 as a dedicated chemical filter and my water has never been clearer even with a UV. Chemical makes a huge difference. I use matrix carbon, clear max, zeolite, and metasorb uhc.
Bro - Based on your recommendation I tried Chemi-Pure blue. Put it in my FX6 and OMG - Crystal clear in 12 hrs!!
Works every time! 😊 Glad I could help!
Some fish actually like tannins, it mimics their natural habits, but I understand wanting a clear tank.
Very true.

Thank you bro!
I have used both chemi blue and purigen. They both work great, but for the size tanks I run I find purigen to be cheaper and last longer
Since this video I have since changed to using only Purigen. Completely agree with you.
Oh my! That’s exactly what I need! I have a turtle tank (with Fluval 307) and the water is clean but never this crystal clear. Would you recommend this for turtles too? Or other chemical media? I only have biomedia and mechanical.
Absolutely, this would work great for your turtle tank as well 😊
How long till you need to take it out? Does it act similar to carbon but not leach back after full?
I just so expensive to keep using that stuff. And doesn’t the water go through the top trey first on the fx6 after going up the side pads
Yes it is, which is why I've switched to Purigen. And yes it does, watch this - ruclips.net/video/7pnrrTDt1CQ/видео.html
How often you change the media chemipure?
Wow
I was thinking about mixing sand with gravel. Would that be a good or bad idea??? Also, which one would be better to use singularly specifically for cichlids? I have three tanks; mostly peacocks, nbuna, in convicts.
Its clarity aload..but chemi pure can be renovade like purigem or just can use only few months?
No Cant re-charge like purigen, needs replacement monthly
@@KaveManAquatics allright..thanks man .
Yea ima try this vs have both carbon and purigen I haven’t used purigen in awhile tho
I have a plated tank and i head that chemi pure blue removes some nutrients from water . I have recently came across chemi pure green how much could you tell me about this product ?
I may be wrong but Activated carbon is responsible for causing diseases such as Hole in the Head and Lateral line Erosion. These are the facts :- Head and lateral line erosion syndrome (HLLES) is a common but very poorly understood disease of marine aquarium fish. One suspected etiology is the use of granulated activated carbon (GAC) to filter the water. Seventy-two ocean surgeons Acanthurus bahianus were distributed among three carbon-negative control systems and three GAC-treated systems such that each tank contained approximately the same total body mass. Each replicate system was made up of two 250-L circular tanks with a common filtration system (6 fish per tank, 12 fish per replicate system). The GAC-treated tanks were exposed to full-stream, extruded coconut shell activated carbon, which produced a mean total organic carbon content of 0.4 mg/L. The results of this study indicate that extruded coconut shell activated carbon filtering at full-stream rates can cause HLLES-type lesions in ocean surgeons. The HLLES developed exponentially over 15 d, beginning in the chin region. This was followed by pitting in the cheek region, which expanded until erosions coalesced. Once the carbon was discontinued, the processes reversed in a mean time of 49 d. As the lesions healed, they reverted from the coalesced to the pitted stage and then darkened before returning to normal.
i have a Fluval 307 with a 55 gal. tank..still learning the ins and outs of aquatics...Do i add my chemicals as you do with your filter or add directly to my water. i have that issue what you've shown. Lost some fish over 3 months so not buying anymore until i learn your process...thanks so much
Depends on what you mean by chemicals. Some can go directly in the tank, while others should go in the filter. I highly suggest you check out my playlist for beginners. It'll be very helpful for you 😁 - ruclips.net/p/PLP5OXTIIDO8NYvhUHAmwAd54WFmS4d8er

Is that good for planted aquariums?
I would say no, just like activated, carbon or charcoal will remove the fertilizers from your water. I don’t use any of this stuff anymore in my planted aquarium… Water is crystal clear all you need is bio and it’s free AF … yes these chems do serve a purpose tho just not for the planted tank … hope this helps
I buy it and work right way next day.. thanks for your tips ,, I have a question how often I have to change the Bio sponge filter I put in my 55 gallons tank? Thanks
Glad I could help. Your sponge filter never needs to be changed, but should be cleaned every month or so depending on your bio-load.
This stuff really works. I bought some based on your recommendation. Thanks. How often should I replace the chemical pure blue?
My pleasure. Usually monthly is your best bet...any longer than that and it will release everything it absorbed back into your water. So just keep an eye when your tank doesnt look as clear anymore. Thats a good sign its time to replace
Would it not be less costly, less work and more healthy to do a 90% water change?
You know I love my big water changes 😊 But chemical media helps with clarity during the week in between water changes too. It's all preference though 😁
I have a tidal 55. Bottom layer would be sponge, middle layer would be chemiclear blue, then ceramic media. Can I still use filter floss on top of the ceramic media if using chemiclear blue? I have not received the chemiclear blue yet.
Really nice I have a twenty gallon worth a piece of soft wood in it and my water is a little cloudy also what do you recommend please
There are many causes to cloudy water. Most common are over feeding and over lighting. My book on getting crystal clear water can definitely help! 😁 It's short, to the point, and covers all the causes and solutions for cloudy water. Comes in eBook and Paperback. I promise you won't be disappointed! Check it out here - bit.ly/clearH2O
this product should only be used on marine setups and high bioload African cichlid setups. however they do have a product called chemi pure green for plants tanks and chemi pure elite as an all-rounder.
probably won't cause any harm though unless you have real plants
I thought it was suppose to be on the bottom tray, can you confirm please.
It is "supposed" to be, but this is a hack for the FX6 specifically to be able to remove and replace more easily. Having it before the bio-media doesnt effect your cycle at all 😊
Also I'm using 2 tidal 55 in my 75 gal. I bought 2 11oz of chemiclear blue. Can I just put one in one filter?
I wish I was sponsored maybe I’d start using all that stuff
If you think that’s how to get sponsored you’ll never get it.
Why would you put mechanical filtration at the end of the filter?
The FX6 is a different kind of beast. It’s not at the end, it’s at the beginning. Check my FX6 playlist to learn more about it. 😁
If meds are added do we need to remove those bags first?
Yes, chemical media will absorb the meds.
How do you apply this to HOB filter? Thanks
Chemical media goes on top (last) of everything else in your HOB
Not sure if its better then XO carbon but based ou your suggestion i bought enough for my own trial on my 220 and two 75 gallon cichlid tanks. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hope it works out well for you! 😊
Where should I put this in my fx4 for the best result?
Normally it would go last in the bottom tray. But I’ve switched to keeping it in the top tray for easy removal and replacement. Check this video out - ruclips.net/video/WlKVa0qzjwg/видео.html
Hey kev I have 2 aqua clear hob 110. Can I use anything else besides poly-fil for the clarity of my water. Poly-fil sometimes floats and get in the tank
Its the best for HOB's because its so easy to remove and replace. Try to grab 1 big handful of polyfil so you dont have multiple small pieces, also make sure your bio media is in front of the poly fil. That will block it from getting into the tank.
I ordered some from Amazon, are they suppose to come moist?.
Yes 😁
Hey Kevin I'm still enjoying your videos. Question where should I put chem blue pure in a marine land 360?.
It should be in your top basket. So that water touches it last before exiting the filter.
Can it be used on fresh water
Absolutely, these are all freshwater tanks.
Kev I have a 350 Pengiun HOB my water is clean but not crystal clear can I use this product in my filter
Absolutely. YOu just have to make room for it. But before trying this make sure you're following all the techniques in my ebook, its free! Find it here - koji.to/kaveman_aquatics
What's better purigen bags or this ?
Purigen removes different impurities in your water. Its just as good as chemi pure blue 👍
Love your videos I have a 75 gallon saltwater . Wanted to start a 75 Cichlid tank is it OK to put driftwood after being treated water log no tannins
If you're going African Cichlids I wouldnt add any wood. It will fight against your high PH thats needed for them. American Cichlids, Yea go for it 😊
@@KaveManAquatics thank you 🙏
How often would you need to replace?
Usually monthly
Not to brag my aquarium looks like after that Chen blue or whatever that new stuff is I just have one small piece of driftwood and sand substrate bunch of bio-balls in my sump heck of a lot cheaper I must be doing something right crushed coral to lower pH simple maybe it’s my well water And I check the parameters once a week

Hey kev how are you happy new year mate so I’ve got an African cichlids tank and today added 5 clown loaches as I’ve always wanted them and after doing research and seeing them in your tank I thought it would be cool. They have been in about 2 hours and are not doing to great being chased and nipped at the tail fin . Should I be be concerned or are the cichlids just curious and this will pass
I’ve seen people do it susscesfully . I’m stressing out not nice to them stressed so I need to do anything cheers kev
First of all, let me tell you that I have never seen anyone with that loyalty badge yet...except you!! So Congratulations on being the first to make it to 12 months of membership!!! I thank you immensely for the continued support!!!! 😁💪
It is normal for your guys to be a bit curious at first and go after the loaches, hopefully they arent too small, if they are you may have big problems. I good solution is to add some extra hiding spots in the tank for the loaches to get away and hide. They'll learn to hide in there when they get stressed. with time, and as they grow, the Africans will eventually pay them no mind! 😁
No problem kev I always come back to your videos constantly so paying for my membership is worth it as I learn and learn from your amazing vids . Just a shame I can never stay up late enough to watch your live streams . So I had 5 yesterday and I can only see 2 now together one is definitely dead as I fished him out earlier. They are quite small so I’m guessing that the problem . I cant see the other ones anywhere not even when I put food in so that tell me they might be history. I’m gutted they are such beautiful fish I’m hoping the others might still be ok somewhere in the tank. So maybe they were to small but they are ok in there if there big enough cheers kev
I noticed that in this video you put your chemi pure blue in the top of your fx6. In the video of you showing us how to setup a fx6 you put it in the bottom tray with crushed coral. Does it make a difference in the order? I thought you said chemical is the last in order. I’m setting up my fx6 in my 125g African Cichlid tank. I’m trying to get it right.
Yes chemical goes last in the order, but the FX6 is the exception due to its design. I've since changed how I use it in the FX6. I put it before the bio so it can go in the top tray and be much more accessible when it needs to be changed. Here's an updated video with a good explanation - ruclips.net/video/WlKVa0qzjwg/видео.html
Thank you. This video answers alot of questions.
I can't wait to see more of that American tank or stock video at least. Where is Arowana couldn't see him
Thanks! He's in there...watch again and keep an eye on the top left corner.
I like chemi-pure, but it's just so expensive. One day I decided to see if you can easily recreate it yourself. Turns out you absolutely can and there are a million different (but similar) recipes online to play around with. Your main ingredients are going to be activated carbon, food grade resin and GFO. If you buy a large container of each, they'll last for years, possibly decades depending on how many gallons you're filtering. I'm not going to tell you that when I make it it works 100% as well as the commercial brand, but it's hard to notice a real difference and it's a LOT cheaper.
@ Kaveman Aquatics which light you have on the cichlid tank in this video
Current USA, find it in the video description or in my shop - koji.to/kaveman_aquatics
Looks the same to me
Honestly any of chemipures medias will do the same but each has it own properties and take aways
What about Purigen?
Awesome as well!! Sometimes I use both
What’s the blue pad?
Its a medium course pad to help the finer white pad last longer. It's optional though.
So it’s ok to put the chemi pure bags in th e top tray??
Of the FX6, absolutely! 😊
So Kev… do you prefer chemi blue or purigen??
Planning a video soon on that exact subject…stay tuned 😁
My cichlids aquarium water is milky for the past 20 days ...i changed 70% water before a week but that didn't work... i don't onow what's happening with my aquarium water... very tiny white particles are floating all in the water...now i think to change 100% water ..so please tell me is it safe for my fishes to introduce in 100% new water?
It is safe, but that wont fix the problem. Your water is cloudy either because of a bacterial bloom or because of something you are doing to the tank. Either way get my ebook, its free and will definitely help you - bit.ly/H2O
