I would advise you to only use purigen, unless you want to remove medication from the aquarium, in which case you would use activated carbon.
Look at my newest short i posted brotha im dealing with this issue today plus i still have a big log i need to remove tannis out of without boiling it
@@PSKaqua im about to go get me two packs for my two filters right now. Can i leave the log in there and purge the tannnis out with the packs in the filter? Its a huge 3 foot log weighs like 30 pounds i cant boil it its too big
@@fuse911 The tannins released by the logs are beneficial for fish. I'm sure there are many people who don't like to see their aquarium with tea, but they are very good for the fish. If you add activated carbon, it will help to remove some of the tea color, but the log will continue to release it.
@@fuse911 Did two fish die after you put the log in?
I think, purigen it’s best
Hello my friend!!!
I also prefer purigen, no doubt about it.
I use both however purigen seems to cloud up my water in a 65 gallon
Hello my friend!!!
Does the purigen make your aquarium water cloudy?
That is very strange.
I’m having the same problem in every aquarium that I’m using purigen in
YOu do need to rinse it before use. Purigen results in absolutely clear water in my tank.
First time I used Purigen in my tank I thoughtlessly just through it in the filter right out of the package and boy you should have seen the cloud of dust the came pouring into my perfectly crystal clear water. I panicked and quickly pulled all of my fish out and put them in a bucket of treated water. I wasn't sure if it would harm them. I later found out that it wouldn't have but anyway I did a 95% water change after that. Once I got everything back together and put the fish back in the tank I discovered that some how the bag containing the Purigen had a small hole ripped into it. My local Petco was kind enough to replace it for me and so with the new bag in hand I new by then that I needed to rinse it thoroughly first, duh... So I did so and I've had no problem with it since. I works great in my tank. I combine Purigen with polyfil floss and the water is crystal clear.
Iron is great for everyone with a planted tank lol
Hello my friend!!!
Go back to minute 1:44 and reread what I wanted to write...
Activated carbon removes several components including iron, which is not good for anyone with a planted aquarium....
LOL...
Purigen
Polyfilter beats them both
Hello my friend!!!
Sorry for the huge delay in responding. I've been a bit away from social media and the PSK aqua project, but I'm slowly making a comeback.
Responding to your comment, which I really appreciate, if you are talking about some similar resin, I don't know of that product, but I will look into it. Thanks.
But if you talk about filter wool, I have to disagree, because they have nothing to do with each other. One does chemical filtration and the other is mechanical filtration.
Happy new year to you and yours.
@PSKaqua its like activated carbon but in sponge form.. they claim to do what chemipure blue does
Must be a mute.
?
🤷🏼♂️😅😅. Nice song though.
