Thanos was/is just something else. Him having fun (however briefly) with an amped Thor and not immediately withering under Odin's assault later on was impressive.

And Norrin at one point went all out . Warlock comes he and Norrin get wrecked they flee to get sr strange help. Meanwhile the infinity watch arrives and they cant stop him. Even the nind gem was no sold by thor. Then strange surfer and the watch all wind up witu Thanos as a last ditch effort to stop him. They stalemate Thanos sees thor with PG that he took from drax is getting stronger so he puts him in stasis, where moon dragon with mind gem amd Strange try menetai to cure him no sold that too. And even in stasis Thor was slowly breaking free so they go to odin that's the nut shell

Thanos was craving a worthy challenger and got it with an amped up Thor and held his own against Odin. Odin himself was impressed with Thanos being able to hang with him in Asgard.

This was peak. This was when cosmic comics where amazing. Ron Lim going crazy. I loved this story. Thor with the power gem is absurd, and the next issue was one of Thanos best moments. This and in power cosmic when he fought tyrant. Back before he was overused and abused.

Well for reference, Thanos during the IG arc when he fought the heroes, turned off the other 5 gems 💎 and only kept the power gem when fighting the heroes. So a true master of the gems would be off the charts ✨️
A blood-lustered Thor with the power gem is a scary thought until you think about Cosmic King Thor and Rune King Thor. The MCU will never give him his true due. Before they retire Hemsworth, they should have Thor ascend and be a subtle and powerful hand of influence in the background and the fabric of the MCU. Otherwise, he's a shadow of himself and a mockery to the character.
