For me the line "my empathy is bumming me out" stood out to me. I feel like that is the crux of the song. So even if your life is perfect, it's still sad cuz of what's happening to others. And feeling like that can be shit. Your empathy bums you out so much. And sometimes you just need to laugh at all the tragedy to just cope and maybe feel happiness again.
That line gets overlooked a lot it seems, that line is honestly what makes me come back to this song. Like yes it is a comedy song and it's quite enjoyable for that. But for just a second, a real genuine emotion was let into the song with that line. I appreciate it.
