But after a friend who loves sepultura showed me the New Album, i was blown away... got my own copy, aaaannd made my peace with derek. Machine messiah, Kairos... also strong albums. in my opinion "beneath the remains" is sepulturas best album ... "beneath the remains" is one of my personal favorites in the thrash metal genre all together :)
Top album. Bought it in 1991. Saw them live in Birmingham uk. It was under a pale grey sky ! Three best albums for me are beneath the remains this and chaos Ad. I couldn’t get into roots and thats where I bowed out. 🤘🏼

You ought to show him ANY of the Sepultura stuff from the Live in Barcelona recordings. Original line-up and their live stuff is SO MUCH more intense and faster..
Dead Embryonic Cells. Just more insane drumming, crushing riffs and Max just slaying it, with his gruff voice. I like Arise the best also however choas AD is right there. The song, my inner self is classic of course. You can do Soulfly prophecy and you'll even see a Megadeth bassist surprise you with an appearance on that video.

hello guys i could disagree with when you saying that once max and igor left was not the same... well thank god for that because all though i love max and igor but the new sepultura is a living state that they are better then ever, i think you should listen to the new sepultura album and single... plus the new drummer eloy casagrande considered one of the best drummers in the world puts igor in a corner although igor is one of my favorite drummers of all times, this new boy is way much better. Carry on with the good reviews and i agree with you on the guitar and fashion they were always my idols.

Arise was the opening song of the concert...just imagine this intro..and then all this charge taking place! the place became like a box ringue, everybody slamming, moshing... it was like a trigger to me! opened my heavier horizons till this day!

Yup. Just saw the live version of Arise recently. Was surprised how much heavier still it was. I suppose studio equipment wasn't meant to capture such raw brutality. :)

I think Beneath The Remains is the best thrash album of all time, better than any metallica or slayer album.
Top 10 for me but not the best of all time. Beneath The Remains (1) and Arise (2) are still my 2 fav Sepultura albums.

Agree. No sepultura without Max! Though Andreas kisser is very important for the sepultura sound... Max was the Soul of the Band.
