Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, RUclips and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!

Zara, It's funny you mentioned you are into wardrobes, I'm a decent craftsman and have build a few closets and wardrobes for myself in the past. The best was an idea I had to build closets along the perimeter of my mom's basement. She liked the idea, but wouldn't want the mess. I built it for her, without her knowing, while she was on vacation. She was floored in a happy way!!! Once she saw the two walls she asked if I could do it on the other walls.
So...I recently got on a new kick that has to do with wardrobes, wooden hangers! I'm talking vintage ones that were built way better than today. I even came across vintage, heavy, coat hangers that are beefier and have oval ends so the coat doesn't get hanger marked in the shoulders.

My advice is to Not suppress them.
Your body NEEDS to do the Tics.
It’s the same to your body as if you’re trying to suppress any other involuntary body function, like blinking or breathing.
Watching to distract myself from the mock I have to do in half an hour

it’s partly genetic so *technically* you’re born with the genes but onset isn’t usually until ages 7-18

How do you know if you have tics without going to the doctor? I also love your videos
tics are just the repetitive involuntary movements, whereas tourette’s is a lifelong condition which must be professionally diagnosed by a neurologist

Sometimes I feel that I have the opposite of tourette's. I have a stutter, and sometimes I'm so embarrassed I just don't talk😐
Also, is there a difference between tourette's and tics?
tics are the noises and movements, tourettes is a condition which causes tics :)
