    ✰ About Me ✰
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about disability, neurodiversity and what its like living with Tourette's Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Orthostatic Hypotension. Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition causing involuntary movements called tics.
I use my social media (TikTok, RUclips and Instagram) to advocate and raise awareness for my conditions and show what it is like living with a disability as a neurodivergent person. I am also autistic and share my sensory struggles along with my experiences with mental health disorders.
I show what its like having a disability and the accommodations I have to help my daily life. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user showing my life using mobility aids and how chronic illness symptoms change from day to day!
I am also a musician with a popular song called "She's Mine" available on all streaming services - I wrote, produced, mixed and mastered all my songs myself! I am also an artist and a writer. I love reading and I'm currently writing a novel and a book about my life!

I was a substitute teacher for a few years. My first day at a new middle school, I had a math class that had a boy with tourettes.
This was not listed in any of the paperwork I was given as a sub, so I just had to figure it out.
Thankfully I already knew about tourettes and put it together pretty quick when I saw the physical tics mixed in with the boy yelling random cuss words. The rest of the class tuned him out pretty well, which was also another clue.
It still upsets me though that there was zero explanation or warning for subs that may not have known about the condition. That kid has long since graduated, but I hope he never got in trouble from a teacher or sub who didn't understand.

we need more sub teachers like you!! i've had some pretty bad experiences with them not believing me at all so it's really lovely to hear a positive one

I have Tourettes as well as focal epilepsy and one day in class, (This was only about two her weeks ago) we had a substitute teacher and the school was supposed to tell them about my condition but I guess that they forgot? But I thought that they had and I started having very severe tics (Screaming, hitting myself, saying bad words ect.). The teacher thought that I was just a very bad behaved student… Apparently (I got this but from the people in my class) when the substitute teacher started getting mad, I had a focal seizure, meaning that I still had consciousness during the seizure, I could move my eyes and mumble words (that doesn’t make sense, by the way). Right after (according to the people in my class) I fainted. The teacher was very, very mad and sent me to the principal when I woke up… She was dragging me there but as I was still drowsy I fell and hit my head very, very badly. (I didn’t have to go to hospital or anything like that, by the way.) And now I am actually afraid of substitute teachers.
Thanks for reading until the end if you did! (I already commented this on this video but since you have a comment similar to mine, I decided to copy and paste into your reply section 😇)

@L3xi.Lexi01 Oh my gosh!! That is literal assault and negligence on the substitute teacher's part. I hope she was fired-- like fired out of a cannon into the sun, kind of fired. That person needs to never be in contact with children.
I hope that you only ever get the most kind, empathetic substitute teachers from here on out.

@@L3xi.Lexi01I have teenage twin nephews that have epilepsy. I’ve seen them get into trouble with teachers for having focal seizures in class. One of Micah’s subs physically grabbed him and shook him and yelled at him to straighten up or he’d be sent to the principals office. That of course turned a focal seizure into a grand mal seizure. The teacher then realized he fucked to massively. But it was too late. And his service dog was alerting like crazy for another student to go get help like she was trained to do. The teacher then got mad for even having the dog in the classroom. Apparently this fool didn’t understand that teenagers can require service animals and not just adults. And my SIL and I let him rather fervently that he was an asshole who shouldn’t be around other living beings. The auntie in me wanted to take him to the nearest dark alleyway. But I had to remind myself that I look horrible in orange jumpsuits.

My experience during basic education was definitely worse than as I started growing into adulthood. Yet, my experience during basic education also wasn't quite like yours. After some time I decided to take an 18 month college course which was a much better experience than during basic education. Now one would have to know me personally to even know what I have or possibly find out.
