On January 14, 2022, Calvert County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the county courthouse for a disorderly subject in Prince Frederick, MD. A female showed up to protest against the mask mandate while refusing to wear a mask inside the building. Due to her behavior, she was asked to leave but she refused. Deputies arrived and they received an earful.
The purpose of the featured content is to show the law enforcement interaction. It is NOT to publicly shame, ridicule, or degrade the individuals involved. Today’s world is swarmed with politics and conversations that are often misleading about our law enforcement officers. We feel it is vastly significant and imperative to show these interactions in their respective environments to inform and educate the overall public.

@@ricky18redblack31 As you may know, Covid is a respiratory virus which means you can catch from someone coughing, sneezing, talking, etc near you without a mask. The purpose of the mask is to reduce the number of bacteria you emit by catching whatever comes out of you inside the mask, this is also why you are told not to wear the same mask everyday because it can make you ill. Some people automatically assume that our masks are shields that make us completly immune to covid, and then after further research people will find out that this is not the case. Afterwards they will share this information with others and the truth becomes more diluted as it trickles down the grapevine, which one way or another leads some people to develop an irrational hate torwards masks. In conclusion, masks can prevent covid if enough people wear them by reducing bacteria spread from person to person which would eventually lead to covid being unable to spread and dying in its tracks. I hope this doesnt come across as rude or as me trying to insult you in any way, so I will apologize in advance if this is how it came across, it was not my intention. I respect your opinion so I thought I should share mine aswell.

It’s simple respect. I hated wearing masks, too. But when I had to go out, there were tons of elderly people, children, and likely others with compromised immune systems who had to go out and get things done just like me. I didn’t have the greatest time breathing with my mask on, either. But I wore one anyway because there were people out there genuinely fearing for their lives because of the virus but HAD to go out or else they’d starve or miss appointments or fall behind on bills. And a few minutes of wearing a mask to help, even in the slightest bit, the people around me was not that big of a damn deal. Idk how people can have such a disregard for the health and safety of others then demand that people be concerned with their own.
You're being naive. It's not as surface level as "helping the elderly/vulnerable". You've allowed authority figure to dictate what you can do without a popular vote or amendments to the law. This led to people being fired from their jobs for not wanting to inject an experimental gene therapy, it led to kids eating outside in the cold at school because they were unvaccinated (actually happened). It led to people in Australia being forcible quarantined in camps against their will. Now you can agree with all these escalations or not, but the fact of the matter remains that by being so subservient with masks, you've opened the door for authority figure to demand these other things without changes to law, aka mandates. Its the reason there are so many court cases now of people winning who were wrongly fired to not wanting to get vaxed or similar reasons.

@@NaughtyShepherd Actually not responding will do no good. What usually happens is if you fail to respond to a summons the court will send you a second summons in red as a warning. If you do not heed that warning and respond the judge can hold you in contempt of court. You will be subject to a hefty fine and possibly jail time.

Not entirely. A mask is not a sieve, it acts more like a glue strip. The fibers of the mask attract microscopic particles in the air, including those carrying the virus. And once a particle hits a fiber, it sticks to it. That's how (medical) masks filter the air, even though the gaps between the fibers are way, way larger than a virus.
Of course, with time and enough particles getting stuck, this effect diminishes. And for cloth masks, it doesn't work at all. But these still stop larger droplets from sneezes and coughs and diminish the spread of the aerosol carrying the virus. The risk of contagion while wearing masks is not zero, but it is significantly reduced.
You can have your opinion about whether the mask mandates were a good idea or not, but this narrative that "masks are completely useless" is simply false.

They absolutely do curtail the spread of disease, primarily by reducing moisture from respiration from circulating in spaces. That is just a fact. Masks cannot filter the COVID virus, because its particles are too small for even the best masks. But COVID, for the most part, rides around on the micro droplets of a human's respiration, and _those_ particles _are_ caught and filtered by masks.
If people were given proper masks and used them properly, our COVID numbers would have been reduced. That is just scientific fact. The "masks" most people wore (cheap ones, bandanas, scarfs, etc), and the ridiculously bad way they wore them, yes, you are right, those masks were virtually ineffective.
Worse still, is your attitude about masks is now built-in to our society, where maybe half of us won't ever wear them again. That is a nuclear bomb of deaths all loaded up, ready to blow up, during our next pandemic.
But our society can do with a lot less ignorant people (mostly Republicans). So if they don't want to wear masks next time, so be it. That is not a slight to Republicans, just a fact. More Republicans are less educated than Democrats, and more Republicans died of COVID than Republicans. Just more facts.

It’s a chair they put inmates that are fighting the staff. Plus a spit mask. That was a comfortable looking one. The ones I’ve seen they handcuff you behind your back and strap you in with leather or nylon straps tight across your torso. Leave you for a few hours usually and you are very willing to comply afterwards.

The officers treated her so well, and she treated the officers so poorly. I feel so bad for the crap these guys have to deal with. Watching these videos, people (particularly the girls, for some reason (not intending to be sexist, there's some boys who act like it too, and some girls that don't. Just noticing patterns.)) They just go into school mode, like they're arguing against a teacher, while simultaneously pretending they know as much as the judge, when they know half of what the officers do. They use similar tricks to when they were in school, most prevelantly false entitlement, but all fail, because they refuse to reconize dealing with officers is much different than a school teacher.
If you have done something bad, there is no way out but to accept consequences. The officers aren’t following lose school logic, but the solid law, they want to keep you safe, but at the same time they couldn't really care less what you as an individual want and don't want, all law proceeds feelings about you, they know lying, deception, and manipulation, and aren't responsible for "bs" rules, that unlike in school are usally there for a good reason, or at the very least are enforced by law, like it or not you have to follow them. No arrangements or accommodations, and any attempts to hurt a cops feelings are likely going to go past them, because they get that crap all the time, as unfortunate as that is. In the end, they are just trying to do their job and anything you do to prevent that is just hurting both you and the officers.
