Judges don’t make the laws, they uphold them. We the people are the ones who need to pressure the politicians that make the laws. Jail overcrowding leads to plea deals leads to how people like her get probation. This woman was never going plead not guilty and have a jury trial. Cops like this guy who could have been seriously injured must get frustrated too. 28 people a day lose their lives to drunk driving incidents yet we see time and again the drunks get right back in their car and drive drunk. Drives me crazy.

I'm not too knowledgeable on how the system works. I'm pretty sure though a lot of the time it's not the judges, it's the DA's make a plea deal with the suspects attorney and usually plea down, and I'm pretty sure the judges are supposed to honor those deals. Unless the suspect ultimately pleas innocent against his attorneys plea deal.
@JohnPaul-yh8ld nah, the judge can absolutely refuse a plea agreement. They can then offer up what they think is am appropriate sentence, which the defendant can either accept or plead not guilty and go to trial.
It’s a complex problem. Overworked prosecutors plea away cases, overcrowded jails can’t hold any more people. We need to reprioritize what’s a jailable offense. It seems to me violent offenses should go to jail first. In this case, Ramming the police car was a violent act with no concern for officer safety.
They pulled her over for violating her probation terms, which mandated she stay away from another person. If the arrest was unlawful she should have challenged it in court, not on the street by ramming another vehicle and speeding away. @@ned6938

Brenda Yaskal was the prosecuting attorney for both this case and the one underlying Jennifer’s probation (meth possession and resisting with violence)
@StewBedazzleThe average police officer salary in the US is around $50,000 a year. Only very high ranking officers in large departments can make six figures. No patrol officer anywhere will earn that much money. And qualified immunity is something that protects police officers from things like accidental property damage that might occur while they are carrying out their duties as a police officer. It is something that must be determined in court and is not automatically applied to an officer in every case where criminal or civil liability would apply to a private citizen. For example, if a cop accidentally bumps into another car while pursuing a suspect vehicle. For a private citizen who bumps into another car, they would automatically be liable for damages. Qualified immunity for police ensures that the department or the suspect causing the pursuit is liable and not the individual officer, unless negligence or malice is involved. Either way, it is determined in court and again is not automatically applied to all officers in all cases. That’s why it is called “qualified” immunity, the case must qualify for immunity from liability. I strongly urge you to look into these things and learn more on your own, as you clearly do not understand how it works yet still hold it against police.
@@PrincessCraftycorn She’s a repeat offender and will continue because there’s basically no consequences. If she’s in jail she can’t keep committing crimes.

Yeah in my country, prosecutors almost never give plea deals. I understand that many jurisdictions have a large caseload but a big reason they have so many cases is that the people they drop charges on reoffend, so they have more cases. It's a bad cycle. My country (Austria) doesn't have much crime but it's crazy to see that European prosecutors typically pursue cases harder than in the U.S. If the U.S. wants crime rates as low as Europe, they're going in the opposite direction. For such a rich country, it's disappointing that the U.S. justice system operates like this.

Well she can’t rack up more charges in jail. This big business they need her out committing crimes more charges and more money to that city
she ran because she had serious drugs in the car and dumped them..
Right? Wasn’t she in this trouble for violating her bond?
She probably did a special favor for that judge , to get away with this crime
Pretty clear why she is divorced. Scary to think that a person like this is allowed to raise children.
That’s because there are so many of them out there….if we locked them all up we would be building new jails instead of repairing roads etc….and if they took her kids away they would just go into CPC then what? I agree with you and you probably know all of this anyhow. I just had to say it….
My female coworker stole 90,000 from another employee, an elderly man,she was helping retire by filling out the online forms… in the process she was able to get into his savings and take his money. The judge told her to stay out of trouble for a year. What kind of a system….
Did she have to give the money back?
It's by design. There's a reason these kinds of sentences are being handed out all over the entire country... But ONLY in cities run by Democrats. Nobody is getting probation, for this type of behavior, in conservative cities.

@TonyFromSyracuse101 paying him back better be the bare minimum atleast. If she paid him back maybe probation is acceptable but not much of a deterrence. She juat has to not get caught next time
All of that and she only gets probation. Why even bother arresting her. A total waste of time.
Liberal Democrat Prosecutors and Distract attorneys. Not to be political, but that's the reason she can get 937 felonies and Only get a fine and probation. It's a joke. 🫢🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Drug infested shithole now apparently.
Shameful results. All those criminal acts, purposely smashing a police vehicle, almot hitting an officer, fleeing and eluding - and she gets almost all charges dismissed and more probation. The courts and judge should do the time for her. The police were great and deserve better respect.
If I was the judge I'd giver her 10 years in prison.
She’s white what do you expect 🙄
Judges don’t make the laws, they uphold them. We the people are the ones who need to pressure the politicians that make the laws. Jail overcrowding leads to plea deals leads to how people like her get probation. This woman was never going plead not guilty and have a jury trial. She pleads guilty, in exchange for a lighter sentence. I think she should have jail time too. Just like I think drunk drivers should have greater penalties as well. Cops like this guy who could have been seriously injured must get frustrated too. 28 people a day lose their lives to drunk driving incidents yet we see time and again the drunks get right back in their car and drive drunk. Drives me crazy.
I mean she’s white what else do you expect

Clearly, probation doesn't work... She needs a few years in jail or prison!
You've gotta be kidding me 3 years probation! That's just completely laughable. The judge should be ashamed and voted out!
It's expensive at least to be on probation so at least there's that
@JohnPaul-yh8ld nah, the judge can absolutely refuse a plea agreement.
@@erinnicole3170 Hunter Biden found that out.

@StewBedazzleThe national average for a non-ranked police officer is $66K. Don’t spew crap when you know crap.
@@dystopian..Don't they automatically get promotions every couple of years though?
