For me, this will definitely be a wait-and-watch for weeks before even thinking of buying. There are very few companies as untrustworthy as Blizzard these days, which is a shame considering how they were before. But you really can't trust anything they say, and I fully expect them to gouge the playerbase with this game as well, because that's what the new Blizzard does. They've burned the bridge one too many times, and there's no way I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, because they don't deserve it. I'll wait for reviews, then wait for weeks to see what the players actually say without the launch hype being involved, see how they plan to predatorily monetise the game, and if I do think it's worth the purchase, only going to do it when it's on sale months down the line.
I'll get it once there's a battle chest on sale for it.
I’m with you entirely on this one. I’ve adopted a “wait for the definitive edition” mindset a while back and I’ve not once been disappointed or felt like I missed out.

I'm not trying to run thru this games first 10 hours again this close to release, but jumped in to actually see how the SERVERS were running. And I'm glad to see that I had ZERO lag or rubber banding when in Towns which was a HUGE issues in the earlier beta.
VERY hyped for June 1!

Necro was rough. Particularly doing boss fights. Minions were so weak that if you were not using a base that generated corpses you were screwed.

Necro is still #1 or 2 most OP class. Just the minions got nerfed a little too much. Meanwhile Druid and barb got nerffed despite never being OP.
@@deetsitmeisterjd it could be a late starter it all depends on how the minions scale with you. Normally in the highest of tears minion builds are not your best option.
Your build might have been bad cause necro was the second character

Why do people dislike battle passes so much? They’re just cosmetic junk that people pay for. Like, I literally never buy them. Let people pay for stuff they want. Helps fund future content for us free players!
@@blazedehart2748 it takes a chunk of the game behind a paywall. simple as that. You can't find this stuff ingame, you have to pay for it. I really like when games have lots of cosmetics and options for eyebling, but i much rather have to kill a hard boss or complete an challenge for it. Not pay 5 bucks and recieve it instantly.

@@blazedehart2748 Cosmetics use to be earned in game, defeating a difficult boss etc. Now it's just about tossing money at a multi million dollar company.
Also just search for CohhCarnage's thoughts on battle pass in Diablo 4. Sums up how many of us feel.
I'm getting insane lag and rubbernading every few minutes. No offline single player is a complete deal breaker to me.
I'm so sick of these corporations with their always online bullshit that actually lag the game... especially an action RPG where you need ZERO lag otherwise its unplayable.

Had fun with the few hours ran so much better....my concern for the full game is the mmo aspect I am getting lost ark vibes and tbh the open world just seems a bit lacking from what I played so far

@@bobyhappy2992 the more mmo aspects really, seeing other players running around, the events popping up on the maps I imagine when the full release happens the battle pass and monetisation will make it even closer
I've honestly had very little issue with Necro. Skeletons as Defenders, though they are much weaker but not horrible. And Vulnerable into Corpse Explosion still clears out. All in all pretty good, considering mediocre gear.

I had to kill the Butcher to get my first legendary drop. Game feels great imo
Thanks for the update. Your GPU can handle Diablo, but can it handle Crysis? I know. Bad joke. Onward to 200k. All glory to the algorithm.
Not even an Alderson Disk made from pure computronium can handle Crysis.

Are u planning to review darkest dungeon 2? Would be nice if you check DD 1&2. They seem to be appreciated for some people. I am wondering why, since they seem to be quite monotone...

Druid feels much smoother for leveling, I think rend feels very smooth and it helps that a rend based dungeon is right there in the early area so it's a nice legendary boost
I played werewolf druid again this beta. Early leveling it felt better than the previous beta and it didn't take me five minutes to kill the first story boss. My attacks felt very weak though around level 15 compared to the monsters I was fighting, and I had a real rough time on some of the story dungeons (specifically when you find the mother at the black lake). The mobs would float around and retreat into the damage zones and I died a lot because of it. Did this fight on a rogue & sorc and it was significantly easier.
It was also around level 15 that I started getting spirit starved and hit a wall it felt like. I ended up doing a respec fully into poison anything. I picked up a +1 companion skills item and just went with wolves and poison creeper. I did the "loop" several times and got to a gear point where it felt much better and I was quite tanky and tried to build my damage around +crowd controlled damage with rabies etc (neurotoxin & envenom). Despite all of that it werewolf druid felt much much weaker than sorc/rogue. Hoping that the boons will address that. Specifically to spirit gen and attack speed.
I don't know if Blizz has a item database for D4. but look out for "Horned Cudgel of Natural Balance" it dropped of the world boss that spawns every 3hrs. it's effect is " Casting a STORM Skill grants your Earth Skill 90% CSD for 4secs - Casting EARTH Skill increases the CSC of STORM Skills by 24% for 4 sec Druid only. Landslide was hitting 1.5-2k crits

For a little while I was thinking I might want to check out D4, but the aggressive monetization is such a turn off. Even if it's only cosmetic stuff, I'd much rather give my time to a game that just comes with everything. Finding cool rewards and gear is a fun part of many games and to have such a large part gutted and sold separately just feels bad all around.
yeah its not even just the monetization its the collecting gear and rewards from a menu... lame.
You're actually right, I don't want to support this bs, I'm gonna just play PoE instead, yeah there might be microtransactions in that but it's free to play, not paying full price for this and then missing out on stuff just because I don't buy the shitty battle pass on top

@@brednbudr2406 Im a POE veteran, been playing for 3 years, I think I put about 100$ into the game, happily, feel like I got my monies worth. That is the difference. Like it or not, someone might buy D4 and never spend another dime on it, or they might play "Free" POE and spend 500$ on it over the course of a decade. What matters is how they feel. POE gives players the agency to spend their money how they see fit. And at over 2000 hours game time, it's one cheap ass date.
This is probably going to be a hard pass for me. It's already a 70$+ game, I have no interest in being nickled and dimed after that for cosmetics. The inclusion of a Battle Pass and purchasable cosmetics in a premium priced game actively worsens the game. I played the last beta and was not impressed by the gameplay at all. The always online requirement also is a massive drawback for someone with poor internet like me. Combine all of that with my hesitation on wanting to support such an aweful company such as Blizzard and I don't think I'll be getting this anytime soon if at all.

Because 70$ is so much money. Keep in mind it's cheaper then Diablo I, which was 96$ when inflation adjusted. Back in the 90's we did not get paid 15$ for wal-mart door greeter or burger flipper job either. You worked for 5$ an hour. Diablo 1 was a 10 hour/work purchase for a kid with his first job. Now these 15$ nancies can get it in 6 hours. Cry cry cry wah wah wah
@@mikeweatherford5312 I don't live i California or New York. No one around my parts makes 15 an hour door greeting. You're lucky to make 15$ as a store manager. The only one crying here is you. No idea why you felt the need to have a meltdown over some weird shit on my comment. It's 70$ baseline, 90$ for Deluxe, and 100$ for "Ultimate". After that there's 10 minimum for the Battle Pass rising to 25$ and you KNOW they're going to insert more into it over time. If the game manages to reach sustainability there will more than likely be paid for expansions and more Battle Passes.
All of this while they waste players time on bullshit mechanics and mediocre gameplay all for the sake of artificially inflating player retention and usee metrics while milking the absolute most out of those who actively play the game.
It's a shallow, soulless, hollow experience created by a creatively and morally bankrupt company that wants nothing more than literally ALL of your money. For me and many others it's just not worth it. You go right at it. Have fun. I have a backlog of far superior games to play that are much more affordable and don't treat me like a pay pig.
@@Darkasasin80 I actually agree with at least half what you said there. TLDR - i think people should not expect to pay the same for a AAA game today as they did 30 years ago. Long story short. Im also a big fan of Path of Exile, and find their monetization reasonable, and really enjoy constant meaningful content updates, like blizzard has never done before, presumably for a lack of revenue stream.

If you buy a supporter pack every season it could easily run you several hundred dollars a year. That's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a game for just cosmetics and inventory slots. Don't get me wrong I'm glad it's just cosmetics and inventory slots but still, sheeesh.
I've had my eye on a few games lately I've wanted to try out, that being Rimworld, Thea 2, and Medieval Dynasty. I could get all 3 of those full games and have an absolute blast for hundreds of hours for 100$ while that same amount could get me Diablo IV or a PoE Supporter Pack. The value is just incomparable. There's no reason consumers need to put up with being fleeced by giant games publishers. If they offered good value few would complain but they don't.
The games tend to be aweful buggy messes with half baked systems and poor writing. It often feels like the more they end up charging the worse the quality of the game will end up being.
Def had fun during server slam still kinda felt weak and I played every class except rouge but they will probably change stuff again before launch I like the less legendarys it makes them so much more rewarding

It's so absolutely bizarre that we live in a world where, at any point in a game's life-cycle, a developer (or most likely, publisher) can go full greed and not only ruin a hitherto good game, but do so in a way that makes accessing the previous, not-garbage version impossible. It's like... remember when on-disc DLC was the worst thing happening in games? How do you make me MISS those days?
Geared out a Barb and Druid, then made a Necro to see what the fuss was about and holy crap Necro is STILL OP. Kinda pissed me off to see all the complaining. Necro and Sorc mains are spoiled.
What is wrong with this game? It started stuttering a lot during combat. I have a pretty heavy duty computer with a 3060 TI. I had to knock settings down to medium...

Still a hard pass for me. I'm not an MMO guy and I don't want to take part in a game that is all but guaranteed to have post-launch shenanigans.
IMO, enemies (especially bosses) still have too much health. It takes too long to kill them. This was obnoxious in the previous open beta...You needed legendary gear to make the game feel like how a top down ARPG should feel.
This. My character would just freeze up all the time too. And then die.
Graphics Card Issues are still there, my gigabyte 3080ti multiple times overheated and the system hard crashed. once at the church cutscene and once during gameplay. For now I've stopped playing it so it doesn't brick my card. No other game does this and I know it's not really blizz's fault but just saying the issue is still there for some cards.
I was doing a boss (Den Mother) with my Druid, so it was already a slow slog, had maybe 5 or 6 hits left to kill her and boom. Hard system crash, I have a 3080 as well. Never started the game again, just ended up refunding. Only game to do this.
I’m really excited for this game. But man, my backlog is already way too big..
Yep it huge back log here but everything is going to be on hold for a good while, while I am digging into diablo

Honestly it feels like most enemies are a bit to chunky. Most of the time I just skip elites if I see them it's to much time with very little pay off feels so slow compared to diablo 1 and 2

Glad to see the improvements, I'd been crossing my fingers that they were going to fix things pre-launch.
Server stability is much better for me now than during the beta. But so far when I could play there were wayy less players online so couldn't beat the world boss yet. I kinda like the game so far but the idea of the battlepass puts me off. So I'm still on the fence.
It's going to take ~ 7 to 14hrs (at the current dl speed) just to start the game. I don't think the game will even finish downloading before the beta ends. lmao.
Between the first beta test and this server slam I'm already burned out of Diablo 4, thanks blizzard I guess lol

Man I really hope the devs aren't lying about paying for power in-game. I'm so worried they'll go back on their word a few months after release once people already purchased the game.
Doubt it. They dont have to. It will make enough money regardless and the no p2w part even is written on their page as a fixed game mantra.

World boss got down to 25% health then almost fully healed… only 15 mins to kill makes it pointless and impossible
Sounds like a glitch and you are the only person who's ever experienced it. The boss does not heal during the fight.
The necromancer is the make or break for me. If they screw that up, forget this game.

I just fought the first world boss spawn, Definitely easier to tank but without max legedaries and lack of those 5 skill points, we're just not doing enough damage. We got the health down half way....
Right? Half the people there were level 16 for me. Smh. 5 levels is huge. Ryker even said so when they were doing the interview with him let alone having no legendaries
@@MrRawringryan farmed for gear, then tried the boss on world tier 1 and got it the 2nd time.
I was convinced this would be a game to play on PC, so I pre-ordered. Tried it on my ps5 and was blown away by how well it played. Even the controls were solid
I play with gamepad on pc on a tv. Best of both worlds.

I can still hear my GPU fans spinning fast in the character creator and certain areas in the world. Makes me nervous, but no issues yet.

@@marceelino I have. It's been capped since before the last beta weekend.
@@HumbleScrib interesting. Most of the time the menus goes overboard with the fps, 500fps etc, but the limits should stop doing that. Maybe they fix it, otherwise use the graphics driver software limiter.
Downloaded, was happy that it became more optimized, then saw that all my textures weren't in 4K, even when everything was set to ultra, so this beta visually was worse than the previous one. Is it a bug? Or everyone has it?
I downloaded the full version, ~80Gb.
Struggled to get it running on my aging laptop, had never tried a hack & slash controller in hand but was also pleasantly surprised trying it on PS5 - it runs well, looks amazing, servers behaved properly and the controls are pretty solid.
Didn't want to spoil myself too much so stuck with Lightning Sorceress but it's pretty promising - dungeons are much better, boss fights are still fun ... lightning spells being high-variance really captured the class fantasy.
Only (minor) complains I would have is the respec system (taking many points out so change specialization of early spells) and cellars being pretty boring (+heard people complain the Necro nerf you talk about ruined it) but the rest is much better than I expected, I found my summer game ! :)
I've already played for 10 hours of Server slam and only found 1 legendary, compared to last beta I had full maxed out gear at lvl 25. I understand that beta drop rate was inflated, but by this much? It makes the game even desirable with the level 20 cap, the skill builds are so off with losing those 5 points and beating the world boss will seem that much more impossible, we were glass cannons to the boss fight with MAX gear. Everyone is walking around with 1 or 2 legendaries at most....
I found zero legendaries. After gabambling 1000 obols gamblar gave 1 and got two more from the garanteed 2’from the completion of the campaign
I got lucky and got about 5-6 legendaries , between lvl 8 and 17 though so still not the prettiest ones.
Farmed Kors Dragan Lvl 30 region of corpses and chests, over and over again, full set of gear after farming for hours, then handled the world boss

I love some Diablo content
Something you said really stuck with me. When you talked about the nerfs and buffs... It reminded me of one of the reasons me why I stopped playing world of Warcraft. In almost 20 years, the game has never been balanced. There's always a certain spec for certain class that's better and it changes every 3 or 4 months. I imagine it's going to be the same for Diablo 4. This is completely destroyed my enthusiasm. I was going to buy it on day one but I'm going to wait about a year and a half until they've released all expansions and I'll buy it on sale, go through the main campaign and never play it again. Thank you very much.
The only way to achieve what you think of as balanced would be to make all classes identical save for cosmetics. It's not an issue with the game. It's a fundamental impossibility.
Focus on what class you find fun, not what the math says would theoretically be best. It's not a race.
Played every character to level 20 without any issues. Necro is fine. Druid is fine. Melee is fine.

Have you beaten the world boss?
It took me 3 tries with different groups.
I even had to go down to world tier 1 because no one was geared up enough to tackle the boss that was +5 levels above everyone else.
In my last run i was fully geared because i grinded lol and then with 8 seconds to go finally the boss went down.
That for once felt super rewarding. Even tho we just got that silly skin for the horse xDD
I was trying to play yesterday, unplayable, way too much lag.
My personal recommendation here is that if you want to buy now, buy if you're interested in the campaign and the endgame stuff they've shown so far.
Do not buy on the promises they've made, buy on the current state of the game.
Id say just say wait a week after release. Season will start weeks later so its irrelevant.

Battle passe is already useless for me cause it was confirmed you need to use a seasonal character for it
