      +Hunter Lewis same the old stadium seemed loud and fun. I wish they could rebuild it. I wasn't a sports guy when I was 5 years old.

    Derek Jeter obviously continues in the great tradition of what it means to wear the pinstripes as a New York Yankee; he is unquestionably a man of thorough class, humility, genuine pride and personal dignity.
    Jeter plays as hard as anyone, anywhere and always does so with the consummate professionalism of a true sportsman; this makes him so much of what we should emulate in our own lives and culture, too.

    Derek Jeter was born and made to be a Yankee. He will be talked about throughout Yankees history with the likes of Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Yogi, etc.

  • @mrosa718

    Ya know there will always be people that say were bad fans because when a player isn't doing so well we boo. But you ask any player in MLB (at least id imagine) and all of them would love to put those pinstripes on and become apart of everything that comes with that honor. Just a quick story. I went to High School with Bryce Harper. Las Vegas High. And I was the only kid from NY and the only Yankee fan. He told me one day "Man Idk why you like them, they suck I fucking hate the Yankees". Fast forward two years later. Bryce just gets drafted, and they ask him who he would love to play for. And of course, he says "I've always dreamed of putting on the pinstripes". My thing is, you can say what you want about us, but Jeter has said this a million times; we expect to win every year. And we know we can't, but we expect to. So when things aren't going so smoothly we boo and whine and bitch about it. We have that right as fans. And were all DIE HARD fans. People always ask me, "Who has the best fans in baseball?" I say there's three tied; The Yankees, The Red Sox, and the Cubs. All three are amazing fans and never give up no matter how terrible we are. Yankee fans, we just tend to cry about it a little bit more. Haha. Good luck Jeter with your retirement. Thank you for all the memories you have left me.

      Damn you went to high school with Harper? I have so many questions... I've seen his high school interview, seemed like a total tool. Still like him as a ball player tho

    • @mrosa718
      @mrosa718 10 лет назад

      I always sum it up like this. Bryce was good, and he knew he was good. He was kinda quiet, but he just had this arrogance about him. Everybody played into it too which only added fuel to the fire.

  • @MrIronNuts

    I hate ppl who can't accept the fact that the Yankees are the best team of all-time. Just because we got beat by Texas doesn't mean Texas is #1. Don't expect us to win every year. It's not all about money, it's all about pride, ambition, and determination! Once a Yankee always a Yankee!!!

    I agree, I'm a Phillies fan and after watching the series this weekend (which was an outstanding series btw) I've realized that Jeter really is a class act. He is friendly with opposing players and when Brett Myers threw behind him in a payback attempt, he let it go and let the game go on. I'm not necessarily a Yanks fan but Derek Jeter is someone I'll enjoy watching now.

    Jeter bleeds pinstripe blue all the way through...he's a true Yankee and he loves what he does but more importantly he recognizes that those who watch him and those he looks up to need to know they he will never disappoint them. And he doesn't. I love Derek Jeter for his amazing example to kids and adults alike. It will be great to see him pass the iron horse...only Jeter seems appropriate to do that

    Jeter was good, even after being the dominant shortstop in the American league, he is also one of the leaders in double plays in the league, against the Indians in the post season, he grounded in to 3 double plays, one in the 4th game elimination on the 8th inning where we were down by 3 with bases loaded one out, and here goes jeter with the double play.
    Girardi made an excellent move by moving him to the lead off hitter spot, and still he's leading the team in double plays.Now that's clutch

    To all the educated people here, we know Derek to be one of the classiest professionals in sports. The Yankees organization has always been committed to putting the best players on the field for the ultimate goal; which by the way is every team's goal. It has been doing so since it's inception. We need not compare to all of the mediocre teams who either copy the style of the Yankees or wish they could.
