To me. These 1994 pulse live versions are some of the best live music you will ever hear. Combined with the lights and stage set up with the back up vocalists. Who could not love this. ??? 😊
I love Pulse, but I prefer Delicate Sound of Thunder! It's basically the same set list, but they were in their absolute prime. 😁🤘🏻❤️🎼
no phones
Pink Floyd. LIVE.
Nuff said.
Mason and Wright were geniuses along w/- Waters and Gilmour. There will never be another group like them in history. Iconic.
We can not forget to tip our hats to the sound and lighting engineers and the crew that sets all this up.
DUDE… BEEN LISTENING TO THEM SINCE 1969… SEEN THEM THREE TIMES… DAVID HAS FOUR SOLO ALBUMS AS WELL… TEARS… THATS WHAT FLOYD DOES TO YOU, BRINGS OUT THE EMOTIONS
GREAT REACTIONS, ROCK ON MAN 👊🖖
I was at the show in Washington DC in 1994 when I was 20 years old. I'm 50 now and to this day it was still the best concert I've ever attended, and its not even close. That says something about how great that band was. My wife just bought me a ticket to see David Gilmour in Los Angeles in the fall, I hope it brings back some of those great memories.
Dude,Pink Floyd's music is my soul mate. I seen the Pulse tour twice. First in Miami then in Tampa. Cried from joy listening to Dave play Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
So happy you're diving into Pink Floyd's legacy, thank you.
In the credits you'll notice the name of the wizard behind the look of what you saw during a Pink Floyd/David Gilmour show, Marc Brickman Concert Production and Lighting Designer. He's been their lighting director for ever. I've seen them live 3 times, twice in '88 and once in '92, and every show was visually mind blowing. During the 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' tour, they had a mock-up of a WW2 bomber fly in over the audience on a wire and crash onstage with the sound of a plane going down and all the pyrotechnics, that was in 1988, it really was something to see.
Lighting tecnicians to Pink Floyd - "what's the budget for the lighting and special effects?"
Pink Floyd to lighting technicians - "Yes"
I've been listening to them for 36 years and these tracks still give me grit in the eye and a grin on my face.
Love seeing someone experiencing Floyd for the first time. You should definitely check out David Gilmour performing Echoes at Gdansk - it's absolutely mesmerising
Division Bell Tour was awesome. My wife and I went to this show and my unborn son definitely felt this concert at the Oakland Coliseum.
I always enjoy when young people 'discover' PF. This show is 30 years old and is still a stunner. The band was always on the cutting edge for both musical composition and stage performance. Here, you are seeing musicians at the apex of their skills. That stage show alone cost 25 million in 1994. Consider listening to the entire 'Dark Side of the Moon' album--you will better understand why it remained on the Billboard listing for years and years. This concert also included a live performance of DSOTM--which is why it is so long.
50 year fan here. PF is a journey, and you're only at the beginning - I'm envious, actually. It would be so cool to discover it all fresh again. But then, I wouldn't have had these decades of transcendant joy every time I listen to them! I enjoy your reactions, Man - looking forward to your reactions of more of the catalog. Shine On!
Now THAT'S a concert !!!
My best friend turned me on to Pink Floyd when we were juniors in high school. She had an older sister who was into them. The music takes me back to the best times of my life. ❤
I too enjoy how happy they all look while playing and it's like that through this whole concert. I can only imagine they feel the audience's love for them and the music and that comes through in the music and it's a big circle. I also love how they amped everyone up before setting them loose from this concert. I really look forward to your Pink Floyd reactions, they're an amazing journey into strange and beautiful places. 🤘🏽
Well said, it was great to be at that concert in 94 at Earls Court, and yes they do take ones head into some "strange" and beautiful places, I completely switch off to the outside world whilst listening to Pink Floyd.
A fun sounding song with dark lyrics and absolutely brilliant
Listening to Pink Floyd will impact your life. Seeing Pink Floyd live with change your life forever. I was lucky enough to see them in 1994 and my life changed in more ways than i can explain!❤
Love your reaction once again! Keep the Floyd reactions coming Sevsimo! There are so many songs that will blow you away with their musical and lyrical talents. Look forward to it!!
Great Reaction champ. Yeah this song and one of these days from pulse are the pink floyd showing off fun songs.
This was the final encore from this concert. They came back out and played this AFTER Comfortably Numb! Talk about an epic show, holy freakin' smokes, what a way to end a concert!
So happy you enjoyed the incredible pink Floyd show as they are as you say probably the greatest band in the world
I think they are.
The Pulse concert was based on A Delicate Sound of Thunder tour.
I saw this in 1988 at Thebarton Oval in Adelaide.
Unbelievable
I seen the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and Another Lapse tour. First one in 87 in Tampa, and the second leg of the tour which was called Another Lapse tour in 88 in Orlando. The Pulse DVD was made from The Division Bell Tour which I seen the world opening of that tour in Miami in 94 and again in Tampa in 94. Now you know the rest of the story.
I also seen Pink Floyd in Tampa in 77. It was called "In The Flesh" tour. Alot of people think that tour was called the Animals tour. It wasn't. They played the whole of Wish You Were Here and the whole of Animals. Which both albums rank above Dark Side for me. I also seen Roger in 2006 in Seattle on his Dark Side tour which he called it In The Flesh tour on his DVD of it. I also seen Roger do The Wall in 2010 in Minneapolis and in Tacoma, and Roger on The Wall tour again in 2012 in Seattle
I have a very extensive library of both books, DVD's and CD's numerous magazines and probably 14 or 15 box sets. 31 t shirts. One for every day of the month. A dark side lunch box, socks, jackets, lounger pants, swimming trunks, etc. want to know anything about Floyd I can tell you a lot. Their music is my soulmate.
This was recorded @ Earls Court in London… they did like 12 straight nights there!!!!!!!!
I was there, it was fantastic.
Next is One of These Days by PULSE concert. Fun fact David said they use lights to help with the show is because they said that watching them play is boring they don't jump or move around they stand and play. They discovered how boring they are.
I know they say things publicly but....eat a bunch of psychedelics and see them live and you'll soon find out that it greatly effects the atmosphere/mood, energy of the show and is intricately choreographed in every aspect. I practically swear they use psychologists and/or sociologists in the planning of the whole magnificent production!
We all know that is not really serious statement. But the truth is that they implement quadrophenia and psychodelic movies back in 60s. They shows evolving in 70s to that big round cinema display.
Love the reactions, you need to get the pulse DVD and watch the full concert
You nailed it Brother! "Magnificent" is all that need be said when speaking of Pink Floyd 👍👍 Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
Seeing them and this live, when it ends you are elated and overwhelmed and your brain is still trying to come to terms with it ending and what now, its a life Changing concert! really incredible!
Enjoyed your reaction!! I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd on this Pulse tour at The Alamodome in San Antonio in 1994. There were 47,000 fans and I had 18th row seats on the floor!!! An experience of a lifetime!!!
One of the best live versions ever!! 😀😀
A great line-up with two guitarists, bass player, two keyboardists, three backing vocalists and two drummers. 😊😊
I feel your sadness not having checked out Pink Floyd sooner! Thankfully I was introduced a bit into college around 2019. The Wall has been my favorite album (and the only one to bring me to tears) of all time since then. Love hearing your reactions ❤
Edit: Livestream when?? :)
Pink Floyd closed the concert with this song. It was their encore. I was there in May 1994. Guy Pratt the bassist killed it with his vocals too.
Speaking as someone who got into Pink Floyd at Umma Gumma when it was released, the Pulse concerts are the absolute apex of live music. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I went to see them live at Earls Court in London the same week they recorded this concert and it was incredible. We were in the middle of the venue and you could feel the heat from the fireworks at the end.
Such a high energy song...
The 'Pulse' version is superior to the studio "Wall" version.
Another huge favorite of mine... glad you enjoyed it.
I love the Pulse concert, but disagree regarding Run Like Hell. The Pulse version sounds like a happy sing-along, and that’s not what the song is. The album version in context with what is happening at that point of the story is on a spectrum ranging between menacing and outright terrifying. It’s a great performance and a visual spectacle, but I think it’s the prominence of the organ that makes it sound like a fun, cheery song. “Hey, Pink’s fascist shock troops are rounding up and murdering suspected undesirables. Let’s clap our hands and sing along!” 😂
waters was missing
This concert will always be with me as I was there, it was an amazing night.
I first saw them in 1973 and had the privilege to see them over the next 20 years at various sites all over the world.
I was lucky enough to go to that gig .... Still the best concert I have ever been to
I think we paid about $150.00 a ticket during this tour in the US - Columbus Ohio. These folks got, as we did, our money's worth!!
Memmories galore . Was there and loved it . Us guys still talk about Pulse concert at Earls Court . 8 of us travelled to London and had the time of our lives . Shame Roger was not a part of it . ❤️
Brilliant reaction! So good to see the enjoyment this brought to you. Better that you have found them now rather than not at all. Thank you for sharing & I hope you will continue the journey that many of us have already taken with their phenomenal music.
David stacks his effects so his echoes have echoes and his overdrives have overdrives. His guitar rig for the 1994 tour was itself a work of art.
I was at that gig. The greatest audio/visual experience of my life!
I can relate to your comment, I was there too, it really was mind blowing.
That was a fun moment 🤘
I saw Pink Floyd live in Melbourne in 1988, greatest day of my life (including the birth of my child!). Love Pink Floyd.
sevsimo, I'd love to see full album reactions. 🤞✌️
Undeniable Pro's. Worldwide success. David is the six string Master.
When a radio station in Adelaide first started, called SSAFM originally, THIS was their signature track! Became better known as SAFM with one Adam Hills as a presenter.... Many moons ago. So many memories!
Pink Floyd, easily the G.O.A.T. and no other band even comes close!
Thank you for reacting to Pulse Concert and I can’t wait for more Pink Floyd. Happy New Year ❤
I was lucky enough to be at this concert. It was near perfect. One thing you won’t get from the video was the explosive power and the wave of heat from all of the stage flashes at the end!
The concert was in 94'. The song is from 1978. It still gives me goosebumps.
I was there,2nd night,Earls Court,west London,oct ‘94.
Everyone coming out after the show were kind of stunned at what had all just witnessed.
The tube was buzzing with “that’s changed my life” kind of vibe.
Been to hundreds and hundreds of gigs due to work, and THIS is the best I’ve ever seen.
The final bang made everyone jump a foot in the air.
Magnificent.
the Pulse concert was in 94 but the album "The Wall" (which this song was on) came out in 79...
Oooooh.....Pink Floyd! Always the greatest! What I so love about this song, Run is that it really does sound as if people are running 🏃♀️ Love it! 🎶🎵💕
I was at this show. I was 20 uears old... It was f**king magical. Pink Floyd takes you places you didn't know existed.
PLEEEEEESE ... check the studio version, as well as the 1980 version at Earl's Court. 😎👍👍
I LOVE Pink Floyd, and "Run like Hell" is my FAVORITE song by them !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sir, thank you for that amazing react...I saw that show 3 nights in a row at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal...was the best i have ever seen, until i saw Pink Floyd again...saw them live a total of 17 times, Montreal, Toronto, Boston, New York, etc...
I was at the Foxboro Massachusetts show. A slight mistake in the air absolutely mesmerizing. Coming back to life is an excellent track from this show.
you were tearing up because the music hit you deeper than you even realized.
It does that, not sure why, my Mrs tears up when she hears certain pf songs as do I.but not sure why?, they seem to be able to produce emotional chords, lyrics and sounds, don't know of any other band being able to create that consistently, hard to explain really.
Like all the best art, some of the greatest songs like this seem to have always existed, part of the eternal fabric of space and time. We get to truly cherish them in our lifetime; it doesn’t really matter when.
Well said,
My friend😊....Floyd is Floyd...that's it...there's nothing more to say about legends 🤯🤯🤯
30 years ahead of their time..
Yep, and still ahead off the game.
1994 , my son was 2 years old, I was 35 and a loyal PF fan since I was 13. I am now 66 and consider myself to be fortunate enough to have them still as my number 1 go to for the very best in top quality music. Not surprisingly my sons favourite band is PF. I've brought him up well. Oh.....I was at the Pulse tour in 1994.
Same here! 66 yrs old and saw them in 94. PF IS THE BEST!! I haven't loved any band like I do Floyd.
The instrumental part of this song was used extensively on TV, film and adverts in the 80's. Lots of people have heard it without realising it was PF.
was there .brings a tear to my eye everytime , what a gig, took weeks to get over it, best gig ever
Shoulda seen it LIVE ....every reaction I see of this makes me smile ...yes it was AMAZING Pontiac Silverdome where I witnessed the GREATEST live show EVER💯💯
I was there. It is still one of the top ten experiences in my life. :-) Ya just can't fully appreciate it from a video, but fkn A man. SO good. What i always tell people is, you cannot appreciate the sound production they put out. Best sound of any concert i ever seen. Its just incredible. :-)
Yep.
Gilmour said, ‘There WAS a band called Pink Floyd’ several years ago. 👍🏼
In the same breath, you would love to watch ONE OF THESE DAYS from the same concert.
Saw them at the HHH Metrodome in Minneapolis Minnesota on this tour. Still ranks as my top concert experience ever. And I was stone sober at 23 years old. It was absolutely unreal.
Might I suggest "One of These Days" off the Delicate Sound of Thunder live album?
David GILMORs
Guitar speaks to you.
Fifty yrs of his slide guitar 🎸 never disappoints.
His voice is one of a kind.❤😮
Saw this tour in Atlanta, the lights during this song were blinding, especially those rotating lights along the bottom of the stage
Hey Sevsimo, love your personality. Checking the lyrics mid shooting and not editing it out is also marvelous. You don't have much of a Wall obscuring who you are. As far as this song goes, the movie version is quite a dark scene, while this version is definitely fun. 👍👍👍👍👍/5
Animals full LP. The best!!!!!!
Ah the good ol days when music was nothing like it is today😊
I saw them 4 times. The first time I had never heard the songs before. My heart almost exploded out of my chest. I saw them in 94 as well in New Jersey. There literally was a full moon over the stadium as they played from Dark Side of the Moon. Check out their concert from South America in 2015. The audience knew every word of every song. So much fun as they sang sometimes with tears in their eyes.
The complete show leaves you gasping for another breath.
ah man! to think I missed this when they came to Montréal with this show! I will always be sad about it! awesome show in its entirety! keep having fun!
I was 32 in 1994 and saw two nights of the Earls Court run, it was 13 or 14 shows I think, David looks happy and having fun as Run Like Hell is the last encore and they have got through a long and complex performance and these shows were the end of the Division Bell World Tour, contrary to what many think the Pulse reference is actually the concert film title for the DVD and VHS release.
This album came out well before '94 and should be listened to in context. Great reaction.
¡Lo más grande!
Fascinating tidbit from the 1994 Pink Floyd tour: Gilmour and Mason served as producers, but interestingly, Rick Wright earned $10,000 per show. Surprisingly, despite Gilmour and Mason facing significant losses post-tour, Rick Wright ended up with millions in his pocket. I personally attended two out of the three Toronto shows, where, as the audience settled in, sound effects from their early albums, like the echoing gallops of horses, enveloped the arena. These equine sounds were ingeniously visualized through their advanced multi-channel sound system.
Great reaction to a fantastic live performance! For what it's worth, although Pink Floyd is no longer, David Gilmour is working on a new solo album (the bassist here, Guy Pratt, is also involved). Hopefully, if and when it is released, David will tour. He last toured as a solo artist in 2016, and I was fortunate to attend the show in Chicago. He played his solo songs along with the Pink Floyd classics and still sounded great at 70 years old! If you ever want to react to David performing more recently, I suggest his performance of 'Comfortably Numb, live in Pompeii, 2016."
I have been a fan of them since 1981, I was 11 years old. I was also fortunate enough to see them live in 86, or 87.
Music from The Wall album should be taken in context of the whole story in the album. Even though much of it is relatable to many people, there's a lot more to it. I advise watching the movie, too. I'm happy to see that more people are enjoying their great works of art. Salute!
NO!!! 😆 Priceless!
Effects guy: "So how do you want to end the show?"
Floyd: "Yes."
My lord you made me feel old 😂 in 94 I was 14 😂
Stay awesome Sevsimo 🤘 🖤
I think a new fan has arrived!
Always enjoy the Pink Floyd reactions, can’t get enough. I saw them in concert May 1988 in Kansas City. It was an epic performance, also the show was an outside venue and was over 3 hours long. I have to say besides them Led Zeppelin in 1977 was hands down the best. Great reaction keep them coming.
I enjoyed it. Glad you liked it as well. I listened to my 'In-Laws' 8 track tape until it was worn out.
Its better to have loved pink floyd late rather than neverat all. 😊
One of my favourites, epic
Thank you for doing this!
The brilliant final song in the "Pulse" gig - look at the whole thing from start to finish without a break, you won't regret it. The Floyd rabbit hole is so deep.
I was at this show in Atlanta, Ga. Bobby Dodd Stadium. I thought the electric grid was going to go down!
No Cell phones in the audience. Every person among 10s of 1000s of Fans bonding together in these extraordinary moments of their lives, altogether connecting with the Band and revelling in the music with their Sonic Superheroes! Luckily, this entire performance was captured on Film to be replayed, remembered and enjoyed for decades to come, attracting and inspiring millions of fans both old and new. Its the communally shared experience to be in the audience that made Rock Concerts such a positive and uplifting experience to be celebrated and cherished.
This is in stark contrast to public performances today, where EVERYONE in the audience has their hand in the air taking in the experience via their tiny viewing screens.
I much prefer taking in 360° and the entire spectacle with both eyes wide open!
Don’t beat yourself up about not finding Pink Floyd earlier in life , atleast you found them. It’s always a good thing to discover a band you enjoy , now get the word out to your friends! Oh and go buy yourself a Pink Floyd shirt 🙂. Don’t forget to listen to David Gilmours songs 5AM and the song And Then. Beautiful guitar on those songs. A must listen to.
Your comment that you should have been exposed at 3 years old about Pink Floyd made me laugh….. such a great comment, love it😊
Bro this was released in 1979 . 😂
🤘TEAM CHOPPY DROPS🤘
David’s response to the question of Pink Floyd was meant as they were younger. Richard the keyboardist had passed on so his answer « there used to be Pink Floyd « was how I took it Plus the Roger Waters part of the mix too.
This song was actually released in 1980. Many of the songs performed at Pulse were released way before 1994. Everyone there was treated to a show unmatched by anyone as far as I’m concerned.
