- In this video, I'll show you two steps you can use to get Windows 10/11 Home out of "S Mode" without the need for a Microsoft Account. This can be useful for techs as well as users who simply do not want to create a Microsoft Account to unlock the full capabilities of their new computer. Should Windows 10/11 Pro end up in S mode, these instructions should also apply to you.

This worked for me. Thanks. I spent almost 2 days trying different things. Guys, subscribe, comment, like. He earned it.
Which method did you use?
the regedit angle didn't work for me but this did. Thanks! No clue how Microsoft isn't hit with anti-trust stuff over their practices.
This worked!! I’ve been trying for months! Finally thank you so much!!!
Thank You! It's embarrassing as to what Microsoft has become. Thank God there's guys like you to work around all their BS. 👍
Thank you soooo much. I tried the other strategies but they didn't work. You really really helped me out with this video!
Thanks man, I was on edge of giving up and finally found your video
Love what you created here. I gave you a Subscribed and Thumbs up
Thanks For This. My mom just got a new laptop with S mode. I had to go through the process of removing S mode. So she could install some of her older games.
After experiencing a maddening 2 days trying to get Microsoft's S mode disabled without a MS account I found this video. I tried three different ways but it was the disable of safe boot worked for me. THANK YOU!
Bruhh!! I have been trying to get this computer out of S mode doing one way or another, and nothing worked.. But you my friend.. You are the man!!! Thanks alot for your video its been very helpful. Cant thank you enough!!

Thank you bro, just did it!! thank you for this video.
Thank you bro, I appreciate it, it works at 100x100
Dude, you rock. Same thing happened to me. Found info saying disabling secure boot wouldn't work. But the reg edit didn't work either. Windows 11 and disabling secure boot did the trick. Thanks!
THANK YOU! My 15 year old son and I watched a video which directed us to the registry only for it not to work. THIS worked and was so much simpler.
Let me guess, it was Cyber CPU Tech...
Yooooo thank you so much I bought this laptop off Walmart that came w s mode and it was the most annoying thing ever 😂 thanks to this video I got it after 7 hours appreciate it
Works good. Ty so much!
Thanks!! it worked in W11 22H2 on MS surface Go. I tried changing the registry key but that didn't fix it.
Thank you sir it's working %100❤❤
Many Thanks, I finally got our of S Mode on my Brand new Acer Laptop. First, I turned off boot mode because it seemed a little easier, and NOTHING! Still had S mode. (I had previously tried typing c:\windows\system32>oobe\bypassnro at the command prompt, recommended by other RUclips videos, but also nothing) Then I tried your recommended regedit suggestion, and my Skupolicyrequired Data value was NOT zero. I zeroed it out and my S Mode had disappeared. Thanks Again.
Turning off Secure Boot worked, thank you very much. :)
This video helped me out tried a few different methods and none worked. Working on a PC for my bass and it was stuck in a mode
Thank youuuuuuuu!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you,🎉
You are a KING!!!!!
thx for that, working.
Thx bro it's working 😃
Why not just create an Outlook account based microsoft account, delete S mode, and then never use the MS account ever again? Just wondering ...
Hey my friend……. Thank you thank you!!!! I followed the others info to go into regedit and set the value to 0….. but I was still in s mode. I am on a surface go 2 with win 10 home…. You were on win 11 but I followed you along. There were some differences but I found secure boot and turned it off. I held my breath and rebooted…… S mode now gone….. I hate windows making you log in. Thanks so much for your information.
l gave you thanks that it did work and now no s mode is on my pc and it did not erase my data using the process
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Yep, gotta do the regedit thing first and then turn off Secure Boot. Thanks!!
thanks,
The second option was successful (at the BIOS level) not the first option. Thank you very much...
Now that we know S mode is trash. What window version do any of you reccomend keeping?
Hi, it does not show the C disk, any clue?
It might be missing a driver needed to access the C drive on your system. Kind of unusual as needed drivers should be there in recovery mode. Another thing that could be going on is for some reason, the C drive is being labeled under a different drive letter in recovery.
Wait what just happened? Did you just show us 2 methods? And does it work on those HP 14 inch laptops from Wally World?
It's a 2-part method, you have to turn off Secure Boot as well as do the registry fix. Yes, this will work on the cheap HP laptops sold at Walmart. I have a newer video focusing specifically on getting a new out of the box PC out of S mode...

I removed s mode, but i can't install microsoft office 2019😅
You is heroo
do i loose my files when i do that?
Generally, you should not lose files
The regedit didnt work but uefi off did
will this erase pc data saved to pc?
No, it won't
l didn't think so but wasn't sure, l'm glad about that, thanks and thank God@@CubeComputerChannel
now it's not allowing me to move past the point of clicking on local disk c without not doing anything being inactive, it's not gray or lighter or anything it just doesn't work to enter clicking on it to move further with the process@@CubeComputerChannel
l found out bitlocker was holding me back from the next step that l wasn't allowed to click on C drive, l first needed to go and turn it off from control panel my pc message told me
lt has worked, no more s mode, thanks@@CubeComputerChannel
Once fixed, should I go back to Secure Boot or will this just flip Windows 11 back to S Mode?
I think S mode would get re-enabled if you turned secure boot back on.
@@CubeComputerChannel Thanks. BTW Your advice was the final step needed to 'unlock' a friend's laptop from W11 S mode (22H2). This was his 1st laptop so you've helped prevent another new computer user having their experience ruined by being restricted to Microsoft Store applications. Have already installed a non-Edge browser. Tech life is good again.
not showing the CMD sir😢
You must boot into recovery first using the directions in the video in order to access the command prompt on S Mode.
s mode's all gone now, thanks
The S Mode is one of the most stupid things Microsoft have created !
This whole S mode is the most stupid thing Microsoft could come up with... lol 😆 🤣 😂 It actually makes me question they sanity !!! I know they want ve middle man attack on apps , but damn... lol 😅😅😅😅
