No thanks. I encourage others to boycott RUclips creators like this who choose to spam their viewers with ads when we pay to not look at commercials. Bye!!
@@TEpScin yea! how dare people try and make a living
@PatrickSheaAviation no, it's not that. You don't understand value and getting what you paid for.
The issue isn't only with Swiss it's mainly the Lufthansa group they don't take business class seriously
Thanks for the info + video!
Love you’ve partnered with Better Help, supporting wellness and mental health, Patrick!
I'm really happy with the amount of details and fun bits you give in your videos!. It feels professional yet fun. Good job and keep this up. BTW: I'm a new sub :)
Thanks man! Glad to have you here!
Great video again. Thank you😊
Thanks!!
Absolutely great review! Thanks a lot!
Thanks man!
Another great video. I would enjoy seeing you report on some of the hotels you stay at too.
Thanks! I have thought about that. Maybe something for the new year’s ideas. Let’s see!
Thanks Patrick - I am flying the same route next April on Swiss and the on to Venice for the Biennale. Will be interesting to see the 2025 updates on Swiss.
Agreed! Safe travels!
Thanks for your review. Only flown Swiss once, LHR-ZRH-GRU and they were very good. Don’t whether it was a one off but they actually had a proper business class cabin on the short haul LHR to ZRH. First time I’ve encountered this on any airline. From my experience I would highly recommend them.
Awesome! I flew them GRU-EZE and vice versa. Just the continuation of that flight!
Nice Video! I've taken this exact flight multiple times :)
Would love to see you try Conviasa's route from Caracas to Damascus, think it could be interesting!
I have been trying to get on Conviasa's A340s for a while but I am having a crazy time getting a Venezuelan visa... as soon as I get that, I'm planning the Caracas to Tehran flight
Always wanted to go to Zurich, my best friend and I will have to give this route a go one day, as SFO is easily his favorite U.S. international airport. Thanks for another great travel vlog Pat!
Thanks! Hope you can get out to Zurich soon!
another great review. glad you mentioned the downside of the throne seat, the foot space when trying to stretch out/sleep, especially if you are over 6 feet in height.
Totally. Gotta pick between a bigger foot space or privacy. The new cabins should help with that
Such a great video! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Hi Patrick, great video! I've been working my way through them all for some time now, thank you for such consistent high quality videos! That being said, I also think it's awesome to destigmatize mental health problem and seeking out help, but I will say though, betterhelp have had a lot of controversies in the past.
Mostly, there were complaints about the professionality of the therapists by a lot of patients (i.e. giving bad advice, not really listening, trying to sell their own books when in session)and also a data breach happened where really sensitive data from patients just "got out". Some things are definitely somewhat sketchy, like the fact that they say all of their therapists are "licensed" even though the T&C's state this can not be guaranteed. There are a lot of articles about this and their Wikipedia page even has a "controversies" tab.
I don't know if you have researched this or not but maybe keep these circumstances in consideration when deciding to partner up with them again. Nevertheless, as I said, great video, really enjoyed it!
Nice video. Cool upload
Thanks!
SWISS🇨🇭one of the BEST !
I do enjoy your videos. Very well presented.
Thanks a bunch!
I too love that outdoor terrace. Where else can you get fresh air, food, drink, jet exhaust and a great view of the DreamLiner's and 777's?
The Jet-A really makes the food taste better 🤣
28:37 and 28:41, Wow they have shopping mall next to the airport, that's cool. Next year when I visit Switzerland, I will go to the airport shopping mall.
It’s a great little touch for sure. Especially for long overnight connections
I see.
The Airport Zurich ist very nice its my Home Airport but the Prices are so much Heavy 1 coffee ist round about 9€ 😂
Hi, huge fan and hopefully first comment. Usually have your videos playing in the background while I'm at work to get some vicarious traveling through you! Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks! Glad to hear that
I have flown in Lufthsnsa business class in a similar setup - it was a free upgrade - and man, that footwell is narrow! Felt like King Tute in his tomb 😂. But I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, as it was miles better than economy would have been.
Fair enough lol! Hopefully the new seats help with that
They designed this cabin, years later found that passengers like the single seats, and decided "passengers seem to like it so let's charge extra". I'm resentful of airlines charging more for what should be already be an all-inclusive Business Class experience. It's worse that they took advantage of a "tiered" Business Class cabin they created more by accident than by intent.
Totally agree! Hopefully the cabin redesign will help with that
Me flying to Zurich in April on Swiss biz - I really hope Patrick does a flight review of swiss biz. Patrick: Voila!!
lol glad I could be of assistance! 🤣 enjoy your trip!!!
cheers Patrick, I was longing for another of your reviews, and to my wonderful surprise, once again you flew Swiss, one of my three favourite airlines along with South African and Malaysia; I've flown four times the lovely Swiss (for me at least) and as always a simply magnificent brilliant service; Fancied this other review A LOT...also did notice Swiss , as all the other cities and and shops in Switzerland, they always put everything in their four official languages?, and from Kloten you can get by train straight to the Banhof...you hit it again, lucky Patrick 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome!! Thanks man!
Great video, can you try Singapore one day either from or to SFO on the SQ A359. Thanks keep up the great work.
I did it back in 2022 but I would love to try it again with all the Covid restrictions removed
Wow cool Vlog! The Swiss are so good at hospitality!!! I would pay extra for the single seat.
Totally! Thanks!
Hey Patrick, great video sub from Kenya,,, was wondering can you take the bus or fast class blanket home😀😅 some airlines look like they have really great blankets
Typically, no. But it never hurts to ask
16:19 If someone has never flown business class they wouldn’t understand but as someone who’s flown MOSTLY business class I understand completely.
I don’t like everything on 1 tray, I like the service and the build up to the main course. I mostly fly Delta Airlines business class but a few others too and Delta serves the best.
A lot of carriers began doing that in Covid. I'm not sure if Swiss did it that way, but I'm hoping that more and more airlines resume course-by-course service
'so don't just escape your problems by travelling to random corners of the world' which is def NOT what ur doing #amirite (joke aside, promoting mental health services is key; fully support you with this approach) what an elegant cabin design. the amenity tin seems to channel Swiss Army Knife stylings and was surprised you didn't get jammies (?) i get ur disappointment with the 1-tray meal service however that prolly helps the crew logistically. and omg that sushi tray in the airport at the end #yummm
To be fair, as long as you have TSA Pre you are going to be waiting 5 mins in line max (at least from my experience), so getting to the Polaris lounge isn't that hard at SFO.
Looks like pretty standard Swiss longhaul, nothing amazing, but nothing that will offend either, except maybe that main meal, 4 shrimp, Swiss cutbacks in dining continues.
Totally. But if you're a foreigner without the Pre Check, it can be a bit of a pain. Soon they should have the walkway from T1-T2 finished and then you'll be able to walk a full lap without leaving security although I still feel there should be a walkway between the A and G gates!
Great review as always Patrick - they seem to have gone down hill from when I last travelled with them in Boz, it looked a little disappointing overall
Seems like they have just maintained their setup which has just aged a bit. Hopefully the new cabins will help with that once they are released in 2025
the dessert, "Charlotte" is a cake made out of savoairdi filled with cream and fruits; I make it myself! 🤭...just a comment
Cool! Thanks!
It looks like perhaps SWISS International Airlines' Business Class hasn't changed since I flew them many many years ago, at least in respect to their amenity kits. When I flew them, about 20 years ago, they only gave the minimal basics in their kits with a small card addressing the passenger that other items such as a shaving kit, lip balm, lotion, etc. are available upon request from a flight attendant.
Excellent video once again, Patrick. 9.975
Thanks! I’m wondering if all that will change when the new cabin product rolls out
Nice video. Honestly was looking at flying Swiss for a trip next year and was debating which class to look forward in booking. I just don't like how the cabins are aging as you said
Yea. 2025 can’t come soon enough. Excited for their new cabins
Nice video. Do you think Swiss will keep the throne seats with the new seats?
It looks like it’ll just become a 1-2-1 cabin altogether so no huge need for the throne seats
6:53, Never see 2 seat with a neighbor or seatmate, 1 in the window and 1 in the aisle seat B and J in business class. Normally on almost every airline on the Boeing 777-300ER's business class, seat configuration is all 1-2-1 configuration. A few airlines like KLM and Philippine airlines business class, seat configuration is 2-2-2 and 2-3-2 configuration, which is interesting. I prefer the business class in almost every airline on the Boeing 777-300ER in all 1-2-1 configuration because it's good for privacy.
Yeah the single tray service is a big let down on a carrier like Swiss. Try their F though. Service is top notch.
I’d love to! A bit too much $$$ at the moment unless I can find it for cheap on some connecting journey
@@PatrickSheaAviation I get that. Play the CC/points game and it's a good upgrade and choose the low demand dates well.
Hello Patrick.Greetings from Istanbul TR.I like your videos. I lived in Zurich for 35 years.Do you speak German?
Awesome! Hello! I do not speak German. Mostly English and some Spanish
Great job. I don't understand why these airlines do single tray service. United also seems to do that, even on their longer flights.
United has already begun their plans to eliminate single tray service. As has American. I wonder if these European carriers are planning the same 🤷♂️
LOL, so charging a seat reservation fee for better seats have found their way into Business as well, yeah, and sure enough, one of the LH group carriers of course. When I flew LH in summer to the US in C (and back), at least the meal service was still served course by course, and not everything dumped on a tray and served like a pre-ordered meal like on a cheap low-cost carrier (although I have to say the breakfast was laughable on my trip, some weird coconut-quinoa soup, and where the side-croissant truly looked like some last minute pitiful option served by the crew out of their pockets because the coconut thing looks so embarrassingly poor as Business class breakfast. Also amenity kits with LH are are a shadow of it former self, down from quite useful little Reisenthel pouches to some cheap looking grocery bag where the only expensive thing was probably the license fee for the Porsche logo they printed on it).
Yea it’s a strange way to approach the rising trans-Atlantic competition. Hopefully with new cabins, we will see an upgrade to those soft product aspects
Can you try Cathay Pacific
It’s on my list! I had new years plans with them but they got cancelled…. So I guess we will try again in 2024
One small correction young man. It is not Swiss Air...Swiss or Swiss International. Swissair our country's former flag airline is long since gone. Other than that, good job.
Thanks! I think it just seems unnatural saying an airline without “airline/airways/…” but good reminder!
The demise of Swiss Air was such a shock. Almost as much of a shock as the collapse of Credit Suisse. The Luftgansa version of Swiss air is a pale comparison.
First time to hear someone says Dutch pastry. I thought it is Danish!
I think it is… menu thinks otherwise I guess 🤷♂️
Swiss Air sucks!!! I usually fly Luftansa, but since they partner with Swiss Air, I was booked with them in business class for my return flight. HUGE MISTAKE. STAY AWAY!!! First they forced me to pay more for a seat in Business class (an additional $179) because the seat next to my partner was not available. When onboard, the seat next to my partner was empty, in fact many seats were empty. To make matters worse, I ordered the vegetarian meal for my partner, but I confirmed a regular meal selection for myslef. They told me that I had selected the veg meal as well. That meal was a complete joke. They refused to accommodate me with a regular meal. They said they had to wait for a passenger to reject their meal in order to give me a regular meal. What?? Everyone had a choice of chicken or beef, and there were many empty seats, yet they could not accommodate me? First class only had two people in it, they couldn't get a meal from there? Offering chocolates ad-nauseum does not remedy the situation. Never again!!!!
Dang… that is unfortunate
Nice for showing the whole seat. Sorry Patrick but it really looks too boxy for me even though it's a Throne seat and I'm a very small guy. Worst are the 2 seater window seats. Dividers are so thick. Last year I saw one video. He was seated in 17A. He is almost 6 ft. He said that the cubby hole is so tight because of the Throne seat in front and it's really hard for him when his neighbor was sleeping. The only thing he liked was the food and the lounge. I don't know about the 2 seater center seats. Almost nobody vlogs even with other airlines the center or the aisle seats. Price is over 6 Grand plus Thone seats $240.00X2. I think I'll pass.
Egypt Air B777-300 ER has the widest seats of them all. My No.1 Even lie flat my friend who is almost 6 ft, his feet could not reach the back of the seat in front. Mine has almost 2 ft. space.
Happy travels.
Fair enough. Good stuff
It is always nice to travel with you and get your reviews but I am sorry to say I was a tad disappointed in Swiss' overall product. I would fly with them but not first choice per se. Recalling other Swiss reviews, they don't seem to be too consistent in food
quality which I would assume to rest with the various kitchens they use around the world which then brings up the question, don't they have any quality control over their menu's????? I look forward to your next video...thanks and stay safe!!!!!
Thanks a ton! I agree that at the moment they sit “middle of the pack” in terms of business class quality (although I do really enjoy their economy class). Let’s see how 2025’s renovations go of course
The economy class on Swiss was miserable in 2022: a tight seat and absent service.
Interesting. I’ve had great experiences with their economy process
I’ve really enjoyed your reviews, but way too many ad breaks now. I understand the need to monetize, but…
Fair enough. I just let RUclips randomize it. Good to know. Thanks!
I think next time when you are holding your camera while walking in the cabin maybe don't hold it that high or give people a mosiac on their faces. I see a bunch of awkward looks towards you when you walk through the cabin, and if I were one of those passengers I would also surely be giving you one of the awkward looks. I know I'm being filmed but I don't know if I will be on a RUclips video.
Please don't get me wrong, I love your video! You are doing a great job candidly reviewing airlines that I may not have flown, and as a fellow av-geek I am just sharing something that pops up to me
Thanks for another great review 🙂 … and by the way, you’re a handsome guy (in addition to a sexy voice) 🤤 😇
Poor service, small portions.
Dutch pastry? You mean Danish. Which actually stems from Austria. The foothold on the throne seats is a crime. Spoils a good night’s sleep. Your videos are very good if somewhat too detailed at times. But that’s what you have the forwards feature for…
Yea… fair enough. I do also dislike the foot wells but the privacy is worth it in my opinion at least. Thanks! And yea, feel free to use the timestamps to skip around the videos!
Swissair? Swiss? Tomato, Tomahto.
Nice review, just one note, you call the airline Swissair but it's been called just Swiss for a long time now since its bankruptcy in 2002.
In this video, you keep calling the airline you flew here “Swissair”. That airline went out of business a couple decades ago. You flew Swiss. Or Swiss International Airlines, which is the successor of Swissair, but generally a different airline. Not Swissair
nice video, but:
knettergek dat een rijk land als Zwitserland Swissair failliet laat gaan, de miljarden schulden afwenteld op de samenleving, en weer vrolijk doorgaat als Swiss!
It's crazy that a rich country like Switzerland lets Swissair go bankrupt, passes on billions in debt to society, and continues happily as Swiss!
en nu in het Engels! It's crazy that a rich country like Switzerland lets Swissair go bankrupt, passes on billions in debt to society, and continues happily as Swiss!
As you probably know, Swissair unfortunately doesn't exist anymore. Swiss is only a shadow of a once great carrier.
As someone posting content which disseminates information about the airline industry, I believe you have some form of an obligation to be accurate. This has to do with your use of the name Swissair to refer to Swiss. Swissair went out of business more than 20 years ago. The current Swiss used to be a regional carrier, Crossair, which re-organized as Swiss International Air Lines.
It's not the first time you disclose inaccurate information. So please consider doing a more thorough job researching your subjects, the right names of companies, the right names of places and such.
I believe you are doing a good job, but it really can get better.
You just added your view of cash collection like You and Swiss, remember your metal health advert. It's for Americans with hopefully insurance for 24 hours change the quality of "professional's" in the USA society of society. First thumbs down stich to the USA airlines.
It’s a pity you constantly named the airline the wrong way. It’s SWISS. Just plainly SWISS.
SWISSAIR/SWISS AIR has gone out of business in 2003.
I have flown with Swiss on Economy, and it was the worst ever flight in my life. They did not have vegan food so I had to eat garbage from Sao Paulo to Zurich. They even gave me dairy cheese to eat. I will never ever take Lufthansa group flights again.
Do you think its their fault of not having a vegan food in their flight?
Yes, I do because I ordered vegan food. Simple as.@@remueltaran671
You walk into a steakhouse and complain there's no vegan options.
Being a vegan did you think to mention this beforehand? They should be able to cater to some special diets but I wouldn't take it for granted on such a long flight.
Did you actually read my first answer?
Do you know that we can order vegan food?
And lastly, can you understand a simple sentence?@@wellsw3
Swiss business is lousy
Fair enough. I guess let’s see how the renovations go
As a Swiss hearing Swissair is a nostalgic thing and not all our new national company as it’s now call Swiss International Airlines 😅
Shorting it like this will backfire from the nostalgics… like calling Pan Am just American 🤷♂️🥲
Dä Typ isch z jung zum die Swissair znenne 😅
Fair enough. Saying just “Swiss” feels strange even though I know it’s right 🥲
