Steve lav is the best damn plumber on the eastern seaboard.. much love goes out to you for taking time out of your busy day to make these highly educational and entertaining videos.. from a fellow plumber it dont get better than this.. quality service
Thank you Sir ! I'm going to call you "Santa Plumber" I'm watching this on Christmas Day 2022 You just answered a question I had about replacement of the zone bellows that has been difficult to find the answer to , knowledge is one of the greatest gifts one can give and you just gave that to me , my utmost respect and thanks to you !
Steven, thank you for taking the time to create and publish this video. Your video allowed me to know what to anticipate and expect when considering the exact same scenario for my heating system. I was a little concerned about prying the bellows out of the Taco housing but after watching your process in the video, I got right on it with a little extra “umph” and bam everything popped out just like in your video. The process of replacing the internals of the Taco valve was a lot easier than soldering a new one in place. Thanks again.
Good vid Stevie Boy ...I noticed Miss Molly doesn't work on weekends ... She's such a diva ... Lol ... Appreciate the time and effort you put into these vids ...
Steve would it be easier on original install to put a ball vavle in before and after each zone valve so you don't have to bleed each zone? I like to do it on anything that needs to be replaced, circulators, zones vavles, pumps, ect. I like how you did this to show tech you can change the bellows in a situation if needed. Purge staion is good to have. Great video thank you Steve. HVAC ON!!!!
Thanks for the video. I've got one of these leaking as well. Tried to pull the valve seat assembly and just the stem came out. Can't figure out how to get the rest out. Please tell me I dont have to replace the whole valve. Lol. Very tight spot and would probably need to redo a section of pipe for it.
Hello .I have questions: today replaced taco valve head . The problem before I didn’t have the 24v coming to my thermostat after installation the new head I finally got the 24v and my nest t stat started charging but the valve looks like stays open and temperature on the t star is 78 F over set point 70 F and I think I need to replace the base valve now so the question is do I need to drain the water in the boiler room or can I just shut the service valve before the taco valve in my apartment and drain the radiators then replaced the valve?
@@kdmq Where I am from if you are hired to do a job and replace a valve thats what you do, you don't do half of it and half ass your work to save time. I would have let him finish then make him redo it minus labor for the time it took to do it right or charge me only half the price of the valve since he only replaced half of it
Very interesting....My zone valves are up so high, I can never really look at that valve body while replacing the electrical units. But, have always wondered what would happen if it sprung a leak or the valve jammed closed/open....Nice to know the guts can be replaced without trying to break/resolder those joints...Is the retainer (square part that the screws go through) plastic or metal...Mine seem like they are plastic, hope not...Doesn't seem like the plastic could hold that spring loaded valve in place very well... Wish my system had the drains like that. I'll swear that most of my low heat output issues are probably due to air in the pipes even though it has been bled out a few times...
No dog? I'm outta here. Just joking. Same valve, same leak. This give a good look at what's in there and potential cause of the leak (corrosion / poor o-ring seat). Thanks.
What is he working on? Taco zone??? Why all the valves? What are the things on top of the valves? I'm confused. Is this some kind if radiant heating system??? Oopsy. Nevermind. Found this video: ruclips.net/video/jv2hRf9Zilc/видео.html

Sad to say, but my wife is more interested in Miss Molly than she is in your plumbing skills. Next level!

Lav is workin again yall
Looking at his upload history, Lav's always workin' mama.
Nice repair Steve. That zone head is not a leaker anymore.
That boiler replacement job might be a nice video to watch. Steve got 2 jobs. The day job and the RUclips job. :-). Thanks Steve. God Bless.
How can anyone thumbs down? He is the best to watch!!!!!
It’s probably fritz mama!!! 😂😂😂😂
Holy heck, I love watching these videos...
She's leaker Momma... Another nice job Steve! Give Miss Molly a biscuit for me!
Nice to have a system where you can actually bleed the zones out. I’ve seen a lot of them that or not set up
Wow, was that a vintage green power head on the right? Old school mama!

4 chubby mama's boys thumbed this video down because they thought it was about taco bell. Thanks Steven!
great work steve!
Great job as usual!
Nice 👌 work my friend 🙊 nice work 👍
How do you charge them for the whole device
Does the zone need to be drained, or will vacuum pressure hold back most of the water?
I have the same Valves and there calling for too much heat. Thermostat changes and still too much heat. Thinking a valve stuck open?
AWESOME VIDEO!

How much would that set me back if I need that job done?
Hey Steve I bought a new water heater tune up kit n pilot won't stay on. I even bought a new thermostat n still nothing. What can be the problem?

The thumbs downs are because he didn't sell them 5 new zone valves, a circulator, oil tank, and an air conditioner. Oh I forgot new windows!
And a TXV…….don’t forget the TXV 😂
Great stuff Steve but guy why you wear those damn blue gloves what's up with that?
Good job
Taco Zone. sheesh. And I thought this was about a repair in the barrio.
Try to get us some shawts
mpflood try to get us some shawts of the boilah
If someone can't fix it call on Old Timer's Plumbing guarnteed one day service or we won't charge for the repairs..
At 13.46 when he starts counting doesn't he sound like batman lol
….as you said....it would have been easier just to change the valve
not really super tech
Steven only said that because he was worried he might have had it leak again taking a shortcut, but it didn't leak so he pulled off a major time save.
Hope he only charged half the price of a new valve since he only changed half of it

@@mandjschorg47 stupid comment award goes to you . The labor would have been more anyway.
Yee Gads, what does it cost to run that battleship steam system?
DeBee Corley it’s not steam.... it’s hot water.
I see a reality show COMMING. This ones a real crusty shit show.
She's a leaker folks
