That's when I realized Beck was a step above the rest, it came out of nowhere, nothing he did previous hinted at the heartbreak and loneliness of that album. Right up there with Derek and the Dominos ,Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs in breakup albums.
I think thats Jellyfish's Roger Manning Jr (keyboards) and Jason Falkner (bass) as part of the band. Loved Jellyfish. Loved Jellyfish .... criminal they made just 2 albums.
100% agree. If you look at an album like Midnight Vultures alongside an album like Sea Change, it doesn't really even make sense. Then you realize Beck is just such a bad mfer that he can play slowjam acoustic ballads or Dust Brothers' produced funk and always sound like himself. He's that authentic.
Troll. If you had paid attention, you would have heard him say that this was the rehearsal. I am stoked to see an artist with enough balls to say hey lets play this song we don't know as a band in front of thousands of people. I loved it
"Sea Change" is a brilliant Beck record...I'd encourage all to find it...
That album is a timeless beauty. Every. Single. Song.
Fantastic, agreed.
@@Blind-Ivan yes. i. agree. lol

@@braziliantvhd2768 only difference is it was Clapton stole the girl and had her.
Bob loves beck
One of the few artists with generational talent and ability
Boy have I been missing Beck, and hadn't known it! Thanks for the upload!
Nearly 60 years later a good cover ! Greetings from Köln
Great post. Thanks!
Love this in every way. I need the whole set
Beck just jumped 99% in my “that Dude’s cool” rating. Homage to Bobby D! Well done Sir!!
Listen to his "Sea Change" album...that one blew me away.
Sounds great!! ❤❤❤

Beck introduced them as the musicians that played on his Sea Change album. And they played Golden Age and Lost Cause as part of the set.
I thought that could be Jason Falkner...the bass tone is so good, too! and, or course RJM Jr.
Absolutely! People are missing out big time.
Respect!
Only Beck could truly channel Prince on "Debra". Love this cover. They're all having fun playing this. . Makes my ♥ ☺

thank you for posting!
Beck is the guy who should play Dylan in a biopic about going electric in 65. No one else need apply.
Michael Cera should play Beck..
I was thinking Conan Obrien could play Springsteen.
Who gets to play Michael Bloomfield? (MJ Lenderman?)
he even looks like him

Put's a smile on the face ;-)
Nice, work, if you can get it, on Maggie's Farm!
@@jonathanbirenbaum3643 Sorry, Pal, I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm no more.
This guy is good!
Smart young man. 👏👏👏
He’s 54 years old. Active since the early 90s.
@@robertpeterson8640 that’s young to me 😬
Becks got the hair down! Glad they played it close to Bob's original!
I was going to ask if it was a Dylan wig, lol!
Oh man I wanted to hear more outro. It was just getting good there.
But everybody wants me to be just like them!
Haha. Awesome.
I thought the crowd was going to go nuts as he launched into this. Did they understand the significance of this?
What is the significance? Bob played Newport. Ok…
@@jamesm.3967 Dylan played this in the "electric set" at Newport, and got booed because most of the audience thought that it wasn't "folk music"

I love The Specials version of ‘Maggie’s Farm’ better !
He looks like Bob here lol
I thought this would be better than it is.
What I said at my first wedding.
You had to be there
Yes. Thats why Bob Dylan is BOB DYLAN !
Xenu!
Beck needs to disavow Scientology. He's skated under the radar too long.
hes a scientologist?! What the hell lmao I didnt know that thanks for sharing
Ever heard the term"freedom of religion"? We're all legally entitled to embrace whatever myth, fairytale, or fantasy we choose.
@@lowellcalavera6045 Scientology isn't a religion, it's an extortion racket
He's already kinda done that. At least he's said that it really isn't part of his life anymore.
it's definitely weird, but Beck doesn't "have" to do shit. shut up and enjoy the music
L Ron Hubbub
Is he a chameleon?
the electric guitar is not in the mix
Probably better in this case
He’s not bloom.
Because it’s the Newport Folk Festival. Ask Bob.
Where's Conan? Didn't Conan O'Brien force his way into this the way he forces his way into everything in this world?
He did, but I think it was on a different day.
How does one force their way into being an emcee/host of a private festival?
Why rehearse? Drop your answers below.
This is ok. It's stiff, you'd think after 30 some years beck would be a better rhythm player. No nuance at all.
Yeah the guy only plays like 40 instruments and has only sold a few million records. What a hack. You could have definitely done it better.
@@thesalingrealestateteam6760 40 instruments? Name five. This is Beck, not Jon Brion.

Pretty weak delivery on the Dylan cover. He's missing the melody line. Not well rehearsed and phoned in at best.

Horrible no wonder Dylan hates when others try to cover his brilliant pieces of work
