      I bet pedro can still get it past half of the guys in the MLB at this current age, weight and dressed in a suit. I'll give him cleats because it's just not possible in dress shoes - lol.

      Pedro is a savant. Brains of Maddux but more dynamic-best pitcher I’ve ever seen and I grew up watching Maddux regularly...I’ve always believed disproportionately long fingers give such an advantage to pitchers. Look at Pedro’s middle finger on the grip. It’s no wonder he couldn’t throw a 4 seam straight because it held the seam so long that there’s always a slight tilt. Amazing how he could manipulate the ball once he established himself. He would destroy baseball today with everyone’s aggressive upswings

      His 2 IP in the 1999 ASG were a thing of unequaled beauty. He shredded those juiced up beasts (as well as the few who played clean).

    Pedro is a genius on the mound. Luckily, I’m old enough to remember his prime back in the early 2000’s. He was ALWAYS fun to watch, even when he was struggling...which, to be honest, wasn’t very often.

    I’m a life long Yankees fan and would never miss Pedro pitch when he was at his peak. He was at a completely different level, elevating pitching to high art.

    Pedro was an amazing pitcher for his size. He made me enjoy baseball again. He should have his own show.

      He had the two greatest pitching seasons of all time (99 and 2000). "amazing pitcher for his size". Maddux was the same size and won four Cy Youngs in a row, and 18 Gold Gloves.

      I wish I could have seen Maddux pitch live (I grew up in the '90s, but only saw him on TV). I think the most famous starting pitcher I've seen is Fernando Valenzuela, at the end of his career with the Cardinals. I did also see Stephen Strasburg once.

    Stopped watching baseball in the late 90's , but I remember Pedro striking out quite a few with his changeup. Didn't mention it here, but that was a key pitch that almost always worked because of how he disguised it.

    There’s film somewhere of him talking with Ted Williams right after the 99 all-star game. Ted ALWAYS talked hitting and pitching and was quizzing him on what pitches he was throwing to get guys out. Amazing conversation between legends

    That's a great point he made about pitchers when they're effectively wild. Hitters are scared, but speaking generally, a pitcher like that isn't going to have a long day.

      Can only get lucky so many times and even the pitching disadvantage Pedro on himself was more on the coach it is easily fixed by throwing fake away pitches that the catcher sets up for away but both pitcher and catcher know is coming in, then your really playing baseball.

    It’s not just the ulna, the shoulders, the kick, it goes down to mastering your body well enough to “flick” the ball with the tip of the fingers.

    Mentioned he was so good at getting his location, that it was almost a tell to the batter if the catcher was positioned and anticipating an inside or outside pitch ... Like it actually mattered with how great all of his pitches were lol

    Pedro would make an EXCELLENT pitching coach for a young guy coming up or some kid. Another thing is these guys still have great arms even in their 40's up.

    Why does the ball seems so fast when he throws, that's really impressive. In all the videos it looks like he puts no effort but somehow the ball seems faster than 90+ MLB pitches

    Pedro's fast ball intimidated any batter! On that mount, he brought many scarring moments to his opponents! Nobody knew what his next throw would be.
    He struckout thousands of batters and made them out of frustration cursed him out on their way to the dugout. A curve? A slider? A changeup or a fast ball? You guess...⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️

      +Carlos Inda catching a knuckle pitch is the hardest for me. especially when blocking. sometimes you don't know where it's going to bounce

    I throw my two seamer with my long finger on the laces rather than on the just on skin of the ball, I usually have more accuracy

    I don’t believe he’s right when he says effectively wild guys throw more no-hitters than controlled guys. God is on your side the day a no hitter is thrown there’s skill and a lot of luck involved. What’s his excuse for Kershaw or scherzer both of them are controlled and hit the spot they intend to more often then not.
