The Nike Blazer was the shoe that put Nike in the basketball business. It was the first basketball shoe the company released along with the Nike Bruin. My first pair were back in 1986 at age 11. I actually wore a 5 1/2 but had to have what my older cousins wore so I walking around with shoes a whole size bigger. They cost $62 dollars at the time. Shout out to Charley Rudo & Cinderella over West Baltimore and SportsMart, Charley Rudo (Old Town Mall) and Locker Room (Church Square..the little store) over East. White with the Charcoal Gray check, Silver check, Carolina Blue check, Red check, Burgundy check and Black check were all classics. 25th Anniversary with & silver all time classics. It’s crazy how Nikes first basketball shoe is still relevant today! I skate in (the newer version of) the shoes almost every day and I love them! They are a great skate shoe if anyone was wondering about getting a pair

I’d like a history of NBA shoes, not just a single brand. Everyone loves Nike now, but they didn’t dominate until the 90s. I’d like to see a timeline of important basketball shoes from Converse, Adidas, Nike, Reebok, etc. Not a video about a specific shoe, but dominant brands and what important shoes they made at their peak.

At the end of the 70s Nike came out with a basketball shoe similar to the Blazer but slightly improved
It was a white high top with a red swoosh , gummy sole, and sold here in San Francisco for $37.

Nice video...could you do one on the Nike Legend? Both the high & the low. Nike re-released these for a little while and just stopped producing them. Nike used to have great colorways where the sole would match the “Swoosh” as well as the name plate on the back.
Patrick Ewing...wayback machine, had these when he attended Georgetown University. Personally I loved the all white highs with green Swoosh and sole.

Recently got the impossible nike blazer from the 70s, i must say how insanely soft the rubber is, the leather is so soft, and the synthetic material where the nike name at is not stiff at all. If i were to explain how the rubber is, think of the converse pro leather that dr j wore or mj when he was in unc, it's a very soft rubber with good traction. It's very out of this world. 😮

Great shoe. But my first Nike shoe ( in the Netherlands) was the Nike Legend Lo. In white with a blue Swoosh. Perfect shoe, looks a little bit like the nowadays Nike Air Force 1.
