Put Up Your Dukes is produced by Melody Myers
Rob: Please get in Power Trip and carry that torch! That band needs to continue and YOU are the one to do it.
that would be incredible!
God Damn Rob would be killer.
As killer as it sounds, Rob must be twice their age! But it'd be savagery!
That would be the most metal thing to happen!
last i heard they might be getting the vocalist from iron age
I always put Gary Holt among the greatest guitarists of all time.
Rob was the best singer in Exodus without any question... Bad ass dude👊👊👊
I love all of Exodus but Dukes era is my fave.
Especially first exhibit its a fuckin killer.
I saw Exo with Overkill and all i remember IT was intense brutal live
Bro, I completely agree! Robs era of exodus imo is their best era. He made them sound borderline death metal. Especially with exhibit b!
Always loved exodus. Was there from the beginning. But the Dukes era was where they finally became a fucking wrecking ball. Best material in the Dukes era. He brought the brutality that was much needed. I like Souza/ baloff. But they were kinda like a caricature of a metal singer. Dukes just brought the heaviness to match the brutal riffs. Wish he was still there🤘🏻
Agree in general but if you listen to Exodus reunion in late 90's with Baloff you would hear that he sounds good/ It's not a vocals from their debut album, he actually sings there. And sing pretty decent.
Rob, This is good stuff. I love how you conduct the interview as not so much a former member. But with that being said you were a crucial part of Exodus. And all I have to say is Holt Is God!
Gary got that right about Prince!!! Two legends 🤘 great interview Rob
Rob, thank you for that opening story. A true moment of humility and honesty.
Your time with Exodus was the best for me! Exodus always had great riffs but I think your vocals have the aggression those sick Exodus riffs need! 🤘
Rob get Warbringer on. You guys toured with them in their beginning and they are fucking killing it. Carlos and Kevill and two very unique amazing songwriters.
Dukes is back!
Hi, Rob. You w/ Exodus played at 'abril pro rock' , Recife, Brasil in 2012. I was there and remember this show and the furious performance of the band.
Holt has inspired me to kick up my game in the guitar 🎸 dept. I was stuck in the punk rock/hardcore world of rhythm, so a kick in the ass goes a long way to learn lead.
Great interview 👍🏻
Yes!!! Old Waldorf Metal Mondays. They actually played Venom and Accept between bands.
Hahahah that first question to gary!
Your channel is awesome dukes, big fan
Killer interview. Gary always a great interview. Dukes is the man. Beyond the Pale - my favorite Exodus song.
The ballad of leonard and charles
Yea all killer
Love the fact there is no bad blood between the whole crew and rob....been a fan since the debut!
This is my favorite pod cast on the planet! Please keep it up Rob! Love ya!
I remember working at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV and i remember at least twice a week, while on shift, I would watch that Exodus DVD on RUclips and it made a couple hours of those 12 hour shifts go by so quick. Much love from Reno, keep rocking Rob!! 🤘
Beautiful chat. Your airplane story was the best. Asking all the right questions again.
great work Dukes!
That was a good story rob
Man, that was fulfilling. We're lucky to have such musical treasures.
Awesome Albums u did with Exodus are perfect. So GD respect my Friend
I respect all the singers Who sang for exodus. Rob will always be my favorite singer . I got super pissed when I found out he wasn’t singer anymore . Still think that was a super mistake but it is what it is . I like Zetro but Dukes is a true beast on the Mic..🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you, Rob! These rule! Keep up the great work! Thank you for the opportunity! I remember hanging out with you in El Paso, Tx for the Shovel Headed Kill Machine tour in 2005. And for Atrocity Exhibition in Hollywood with Kreator back in 2009 or so. You took me backstage and you all signed my Atrocity Exhibit album!
Rob - if possible, try to get your guest's volume louder - or lower yours. Just try to get it a bit more balanced. Great interview; thank you so much for bringing this to us.
Rob , The Exodus DVD. Is the reason I'm a gigantic EXODUS (GARY HOLT)fan!!!!! 🤘😎🤘You keep doing it!!!! Tool ??? LoL
Stained Glass. Funny stuff Rob. I thought that for a while after it was released, but figured it out a few months in. Hilarious. Good stuff Rob enjoyed the talk

Oh damn. My wife and I love Sad wings of destiny. It's a perfect album from start to finish. A great LSD album for sure.
Just subscribed. Good, interesting content; not just the interview. Keep it going Rob!
Killer episode 🤘
We want you back in EXODUS....
As much as I love zetro, I second this!
Hahaha omg I’m laughing soooo hard right now!! I have to compose myself to get ready for the podcast…but, first, I’m going to watch you “document the documentary.” on the tour! . Then I’ll come back and watch this!
Nice hearing Melody’s name referenced in this!
made it a great day today!!!
LOL. Good thing I uploaded that Aragon 87 video!
Love thats the way to listen to a record.
I have always wondered if a "non-Stop" version of an album with a side A and side B medley. would be somethinf someone is interested. in maybe put a playlist file in for the three platforms in your download area. so someone just hits play shuts up and just listens.
Duks Vc é o melhor vocalista do Exodus!!
Volte logo, Man👍
Dukes....best exodus vocalist 🤘
Amazing interview! \m/ \m/ I cannot wait for the new record. Keep rockin everyone!
Fuckin awesome interview! Thanks for posting Dukesy!
Great Pod Rob 🙂👍 Have you ever heard that you look like Brent Hinds of Mastodon? Anyway, skål from Sweden 🇸🇪
One of my first concerts I saw was you guys opening for Kreator as the released Hordes of Khaos in this tiny little dive bar. Still one of the best shows ever. Had a chance to meet Rick.

🤘🏼🤘🏼
Human race failed. I sorry for the children. And I love your time as EXODUS front man. GARY is the riffs man, between the top five of all time in THRASH METAL!!
I after 2 years on the guitar im still saying D D D when i strum.
Hell yeah Prince is better than Eric! Love that new Generation Kill.
So what songs were in the set when Kirk was in the band?
Gary was easily pulling arpeggios in 85.
strangely enough Metallica has also yet to use a Kirk Hammett riff......
@@garystarkey726 90's Metallica was better
wow , i also thought it was stained Glass , i'm 50 been listening to that album for years , i feel kinda dumb lolol
Fucking Love Exodus , but the Dukes era was the best \m/\m/
Imagine how great the last few Slayer albums would have been if Gary had written the riffs, instead of Kerry King?
You are looking like a god, Rob.
Top 👌🤟😈
I remember Exodus played in Louisville KY years ago at the Phoenix Hill Tavern. My friends and I got fucked up and got drunk with the exodus guys afterward and ended up drunk wrestling each other in the parking lot and I almost convinced them to hit the strip club. I think the guitar tech was some French legion dude lol. Lee Altus and I buying drinks and I got his cell and drunk dialed him a few weekends later 🤣🤣🤣 memories
Loved this interview!! Great guy, Gary! Funny when he says, “For as great as I was when I first picked up the guitar, I just “got it!” He says, “For playing on stage so early, “I should be much better now!” lol
And, Gary is the FIRST person I’ve heard to explain exactly where Eric Clapton really stands! Clapton is just okay in guitar.
No one seems to be honest about that, as much as there is to admire about what Clapton has done- guitar? Not really.
Gary’s right: I was playing in rock bands in Australia when he was called “God,” In London. There was a guitarist in Australia, Vincent Melouney, who could set fire to the fretboard with riffs on lead guitar in 1965! He tamed it when he was later with the Bee Gees in the 1960s when I used to know them in Australia. Far better guitarist.
In 1964-5 Jeff Beck was already better. Another: The Animals released Baby Please Don’t Go, fabulous guitar riff: It was Jimmy Page playing as a studio musician.
Eric Clapton can’t play better blues guitar than Prince, Joe Bonamassa, Van Halen, et.al. But, like Gary says, Eric wasn’t the one to claim to be great, and his songs like Tears in Heaven are wonderful. But, I totally agree with his views.
Gary is definitely gifted on lead!
You’re really good at these Rob! Keep it up!
As an actual Air Force veteran from the Vietnam war generation, I’m trying to figure out how wearing a “Generation Kill” T-shirt is going to go over! ☺️
59:40
Is that Brian Posehn,,.or ZZ Top.,(?).,`;;'.,
Listen to 38:12 and then look at the cover of Impact Is Imminent 😂
RUclips hiding shit is getting out of hand FR I have to type this in to find it. They make sure people can’t find it on accident.
in Venezuela, lol
That’s me all the time weights and measurements, but it’s never a hot chick.
Don't be so pessimistic - God always has a plan.
GOD HAS PLAN ok tell him to give me Shot out
Love Exodus! Love Gary's Guitar Playing! And I think That Prince is a great musician! But there's no way in hell that he's better than Clapton! Most of his songs covers or not! Clapton just took crappy songs and made them better! But I think most of Princes songs are to pussified!
