I’ve met Gary a few times over the last 8ish years, every single time he’s been nothing but kind and down to earth. I showed him an LTD Eclipse I had painted myself and he said to me “dude, killer!!!!” And has been nothing but a sweetheart. Very blessed to have met him, and so happy for all of his success!
Sometimes you just need to hear shit like this from the “pros”… success or not Gary is a true musician/artist forever on the hunt. I know that I constantly feel despondent about where I’m at or “how good I am” as a guitar player.. my tone… the time I do or don’t have to play music. How good I “should” be after all these years. You just need to pick the damn thing up and be thankful that you have the opportunity at all, and continue on what is a lifelong journey.
My cousin surprised me for my 52nd birthday with a video from the one and only Gary Holt wishing me a Happy Birthday!! my eyes welled up lol and i'm a grown ass man! so surreal to hear your Living Legend, your Idol wishing you that from the GODFATHER of Bay Area Thrash.
One of the best guitarists of all time. So talented but genuinely nice down to earth guy. Bonded by Blood is one of the best albums ever released. Love the Holt signature ESPs, Officer Holt, Hell Yeah. Thanks Gary, you Legend👍🤘🤘🤘
Chasing killer guitar tones and riffs with the way Gary plays is such a killer combo. I was blown away in the 80’s with the riffs and have been a fan since. Definitely on my top metal gods list.
It's super cool to see one of my long-time guitar heroes get his very own amp sim package. This man is so deserving of this. Absolutely one of the coolest guys in all of metal. Much love to ya Gary...and hope to be jamming some of your new tunes soon.
Gary is in my top 5 guitarists of all time! And I always make a point of saying that he deserves a lot more recognition. We love you, Gary!Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷
Gary is an excellent player. He also has the best attitude that there is. I have seen Exodus a few times, never met him. And the Angus/Malcolm comment rules!
Was lucky enough to see Gary in Perth WA with Exodus many years ago.. Killer guitarist. Played a huge set and noticed for Gary it's all about the audience being happy. What a fucking legend. 👏 ❤
I've been privileged to work with a LOT of artists, particularly in the metal genre. And Gary is one of THE nicest and most easy going guys I've ever met.
I am so happy Gary was the guy who got the call when Slayer needed someone to take Jeff's spot for the last several years of the band. After putting in all of those years makign incredible music wit Exodus, Gary deserved a break and the chance to make some real money. Exodus should be way bigger than they are. Gary deserves some good pay days. Let's hope that Slayer paid him what he deserved...as Lombardo has raised some very real concerns about Slayer's book keeping, payments and management. Let's hope that Holt didn't get ripped off.
Glad Slayer pulled the plug! It was a shame. Jeff gone..Dave screwed hard.. ..and then Gary in .. Paul on the drums.. it wasn't Slayer at all . It was a corporation deal formation. Total BS. How Tom & Kerry & Management did Dave... No respect at all. I wss glad the whole Slayer gimmick was over! Carry Reign in Blood & Hell Awaits in your Heart .. those are true Slayer Albums.
@jasonsloten3148 thank you. Jeff wasn't replaceable, as close as they always were with exodus, it just shouldn't have happened, even if i think Gary is a great guitarist and probably the best pick they could have made. I feel thankful to have seen the original lineup 3 times... And hell awaits fucking rules all
when I heard the song "plaesures of the flesh" and "brain dead" being played on my local radio around 1988 it was like a revelation. So good riffs... and awesome solos.... in "pleasures" "Faster Than You'll Ever Live to Be " main riff is killer... This is where it all started. There was Slayer and Destruction before, of course, but this was like gold. Gary has one of the best sounds that exist in metal. The solos from the album Pleasueres of the flesh are masterpieces. I listen to a wide spectrum of metal and many genres, from Racer X to Origin, or John Petrucci and Immortal but Exodus started it.
The honesty and just how down to earth Gary is is just astronomical. At times it boggles the mind because he's just like us you know just like you just like I
Met him in Toronto, when Exodus played a small gig here. What you see is what you get, a real friendly guy, totally honest. Was sharing my Marlborough's with the band..lol. Show was awesome
Cheers Gary you have been my hero as a guitarist for quite some time your riffs and tone have always been crushing and although I have been part of the music industry my self with my own bands and projects that I have usually been the architect of over the decades as I put together most of the music and composition myself I have, as a Rhythm guitarist myself always loved your riffs even though all but one of my own bands/projects released officially or otherwise has nothing to do with thrash but when I just jam on a guitar for fun then Exodus id right up there in terms of things to play, thank you Sir \m/
Absolutely legendary human being and a massive influence of mine on my own guitar playing. Looking forward to watching them at Chania Rock Festival in Greece this year. Maybe, Stonedead in UK, hmm Gary?! 😂🤔🤟
Man I love this guy of late… all I knew of him was he replaced Jeff in Slayer… I love his tone and EMG guitars…. I saw a clinic he did and just dig everything he does , very inspiring to me as a player… thanks Gary
Hell ya inspiration. I feel I can relate to Gary my band Angel Flesh Is Higley influenced by exodus.I played in another band and opened for them got to meet Gary Still my favorite show I've played
Was that opening riff a Sayer song? I don’t know Exodus’s music and my Slayer collection consists of earlier stuff. That riff was dope! Let me know because I want to check that out!
In 1992, I bought EMG 81 pickups for my B.C. Rich Warlock guitar just because of the guitar sound on Fabulous Disaster and reading that Gary Holt used those pickups. It sounded awesome going through a Peavey Supreme 160 stack. By the way, that t-shirt is hilarious.
I'm so happy to be around and enjoy this era of bands and good musicans like Officer Holt !!! What will people say in 50 years when they look back and everything they have is crap. We're the lucky ones........
One of the best quotes in metal history just happened here. “Play for the love and listen to Angus and Malcom Young. “
Absolutely..and its true
“They’ll teach you everything you need”
It’s literally the truth. Scott Ian would probably agree. 100%.
@@sadboi7537naaa, i think he would agree 120% 😊
As it happens I've been researching AC/DC a lot more since they announced the new tour.
Gary always comes across as very humble and grateful for his success, seems like such a nice dude
He does seem down to earth hella cool dude. Steve is hella cool too humble AF. Our sons went to school together I was stoked to meet him.
One of the coolest cats ever.
I remember when he was asking people for money.
What a great guy Gary is. The world's a better place with guys like him.
the entire Exodus group as a whole are freaking rad dudes!
You have my full attention 🤘🏻
Chopper!
CHOPPPPPP
You've nailed his tones SO many times over!
To me, Gary has the best overall career guitar tone and riffs in metal.
Yep
100%. Nobody can touch his tone.
100% agree. He’s a fucking monster. Riff machine too.
Man, when they played Wacken 2008… That was probably my favourite sound he had.
You are not wrong
This man deserves Tonality Gary Holt edition, not just ToneHub pack. How about it, STL Tones?
I'd buy it!!
i agree!!!
Neural DSP, Archetype: Holt

Gary is one of the best guitarist out there. The way he chugs out riffs is so unique.

Classiest and warmest solos in metal. Simply the best.

That Officer Holt guitar looks so sick.
Tha darta effects pedal! Cheers from Brazil!

One of the Greatest Metal Riffmaster 🎸
And his wig!
Gary Holt is gold.

Its releases like this make the monthly plan so worth it! You always have new gear to play with.
Always get great advice in Gary's interviews!
The opening riff to impact is imminent is STILL to this day the heaviest most technically challenging riff ever
Gary is awesome dude, saw him live in MTL in 2019... Slayer show
The predator sticker on his amp had me rolling 😆
Gary’s gear collection is crazy
His wig collection is equally as large it would seem!
Exodus the sound of my life. thanks Gary.. master of masters. a hug from Italy
What a genuine dude.

Yes, it is.
The tone of Exhibit A is one my favorite tones of all time, its fucking killer !!!!!
Fantastic video. Thank you from Sweden! 👍🏻
Awesome Gary H
All I want are the tones from the atrocity exhibition albums.
Peavey for atrocity A and the savage for B 🤟
excited to hear Gary's deathbed riff
He seems like a great guy
I'm interested in the pedals he uses to push that Marshall jubilee. Didn't really catch the names of it.🤟🤟
Boss sd1 and a parametrit eq that focus on boosting mids
he's got a Guptech pedal. Check them out they've got a bunch of great specific things to fill gaps within your effect loop
@@fredlaroche6969 the guptech is not pushing the front end of the amp .

I saw him play with Exodus in Tokyo the day this was released. Great show and the fans loved listening to Bay Area Thrash!
Valeu demais! Dica simples pra conseguir essa sonoridade já saindo do padrão. Esperando a próxima!
