Armitron have a surprisingly fun and interesting history. I like some of the old 90s all sport digitals, and these new retro options are nicely conceived. Shame they don’t really have a meaningful market presence in Europe
Great review, as always. I have two Rubiks so here's my 2 cents: Pros: They look good (don't look too close though) and the straps are neat. Price is good as well. Downs: QC is questionable. Also there's no button guards and the buttons really stick out. The snap off case back is also a minus. I got two of these Rubiks and they were both duds, after a month of use, one of them had one button just shoot out of it's socket after being pressed. The other one has the graphics overlay printed askew, can't even look at it, also the buttons squeak. I also have two A1000s and CASIO always have great quality, as you know. CASIO just needs to roll out the A1000 in plain stainless steel, with a black watchface, positive LCD and solid link bracelet (like the Rag and Bone one) and i think that a lot of people would buy that for +/- 200 USD.
I have a few Armitron watches and they are really good. They seem to be getting more and more attention from outside their usual markets, which is good. I think they are far better than Timex.

I am not a fan of digital watches, but I do have one and it's an Armitron. I had three Casio digital watches, sold two of them since I didn't need them and the "Casio Royale" was a crappy and cheap feeling watch, so I was happy to get rid of it.
I hope they release a version with a mesh band and a black coated one with resin as i can't wear link bracelets with my super hairy wrists since they always pop hairs out and annoy me Mesh is my favorite followed by resin. But if it's resin I hope it has more holes for finer adjustment than the casios. But i love how resin watches never get hot when out in the worst of summers. Metal watches get uncomfortably hot.
And the case is NOT shiny chrome but a nice brushed finish. That's what i love a LOT. Don't want my wrist watch to sparkle and shine like a bordello door. The Rogue model reminds me a bit of the East German digital watches made by RUHLA. However at this price point they are not really a Casio Killer. More like an alternative for those who don't wanna blow 100-200 quid on a stainless steel Casio modding kit from China. The green side LED really is disappointing. Should have been at least an Amber LED which looks way brighter than the green ones which is crazy since green is a lot easier to see by our eyes. Amber is also so much more eye friendly in the dark.

The Armitron is a much nicer object than the Casio. Feels a lot more solid. The second time zone is a handy feature. The readout is superior on the Casio if you are looking from an angle. The steel Armitron case is a thing of beauty though. Not sure i would agree they are better than the steel Casio a1000 though. That is a beautiful watch and a bit bigger than the Armitron, which would be important to those with bigger wrists.
The bracelet on that Rogue is identical to the bracelet on my first watch - a Roamer quartz circa 1989. Pleased to report no trouble with it over many, many years.

Throw in a sapphire crystal and I’d pay 250.
It’s ugly. Casios look way better.
Ci vuole anche un certo gusto estetico e una storia. Non bastano 50 grammi di acciao
Ahh the backlight, Armitron - do something about it!
I'm sure those are skmei re-branded watches
Still Casio AE1200 is one the best and beats this Arimittion
I remember you from a different hair product channel lol
Casio is Casio man!
No one has the the capability to kill Casio
Armitron watches are decent, affordable, and utilitarian options. They aren't luxurious by any stretch, but they're definitely a step above the cheapo trash-tier watches you can usually find alongside them at Walmart. From my point of view, Casio, Timex, and Armitron are the three royals of the
And Casio has nothing to say about the similarities? 😯
The Griffy LED is a cracking watch and amazing value
@Chris what Griffy colour combination are you rocking?
live is to short to buy copy of casio.
Pretty much every 80's digital watch looked like this. Timex, Waltham, Casio, Seiko ect. Casio had no patent on the design.
I have 3 Armitrons 2 are pro sports that are PITAS to set and my dress watch is a Armitron 20/4935TB Men PC33 and 3 Timex, I enjoy the brands.
These are excellent watches have owned many over the years. They just work. excellent video thanks
If you were lower middle class in the 80's, you had an Armitron. We all had one.
Been thinking about that Rogue for a while. Love my F105 and A168, but steel is real
My problem is the writing and the swimmer.
Looks childish.
Why the don't make a total black face without stupid lettering
and the useless backlight
@@fuzzywuzzy0549 i don't mind that.😊
The least of my worries 😉
Any chance of a review of the new Timex T80 36mm models with stainless steel case?
The bracelet on that Rogue is identical to the bracelet on my first watch - a Roamer quartz circa 1989. Pleased to report no trouble with it over many, many years.
