Yes, I agree with all of these super-curricular activities, as this is what uni admissions teams look for. I did most of these and I had friends who also did live art classes and mini-lectures in the evening and we always got asked about these at interviews we did. The more niche the better! Great video
I genuinely enjoy watching your videos, not only are they informative but also easy to listen to. This was a very useful video which will help me in my application to do law! Thank you.
I remember doing the intermediate maths challenge in year 11 back in 2020, and off the back of it, I got selected to take the intermediate maths olympiad. Unfortunately, because it was 2020 it was cancelled for obvious reasons. However, they did run a virtual summer camp, which again you needed to do well in the intermediate maths challenge to get in. That summer camp was one that I would never forget and it's also one not available to many people. If I recall correctly, only about 40 or so managed to get in. I put down both experiences in my personal statement. Then, in late 2020, I did the SMC (senior maths challenge) and similarly made it to the BMO (British maths olympiad) round 1, which again I put on my personal statement. I repeated that in 2021 but this time it didn't go on my personal statement as the school set a deadline of a date that was before the results for the SMC came in.
Ahhh yeah covid cancelled a lot of super curricular activities, that summer maths camp definitely boosted your application. Having a strong set of super curricular activities is a massive help
Thank you ☺️ feel free to email me at info@sancarmedia.com with any previous work you have done so I can see if your editing skills will suffice for my channel 😌
